UltraRed 78 Share Posted October 6, 2011 ((The RP sections in this application are probably nearly incomprehensible without this handy orcish dictionary: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/13396-orc-dictionary/)) Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: UltraRed -How old are you?: 15 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: P.S.T., GMT -7 -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I like to think so. I’m also a little bit OCD, so I try to have near-perfect grammar, spelling, and punctuation on all things. Not when talking like an Orc, obviously, but in OOC discussions and forum posts. -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a studious 15-year-old who enjoys playing multiplayer MineCraft. I do a lot of volunteer work. I enjoy computer programming, although I’m absolutely terrible at it. I enjoy being part of a community, and think of myself as a helpful person, although my sense of humour can sometimes be so self-deprecating that people don’t quite take me seriously. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 30-50 hours. -How long have you played minecraft?: 10 months. -What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I’ve played D&D with friends, but didn’t like the limited nature of the mechanics. I also did not enjoy games like Mass Effect or Dragon Age, because they are, again, not multiplayer. I have played forum-based roleplaying games for the past three years, and have had a lot of fun. EDIT: Roleplaying is when you act like a character would act. You don't make decisions based on information your character doesn't know, and you speak and act as if you were your character. In ideal RP, none of your real-world personality or knowledge should influence the actions of your character. -What do you expect this server will be like?: Incredible NPC AI, because they’re not NPCs, they’re people. And... incredible interactivity, there’s a nearly infinite amount of stories that can be told. I hear there’s more than a thousand players online every day, and I find that incredible. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: No other MineCraft servers, I just recently came up with the idea of looking for a MineCraft RP server, and this was by FAR the best I found. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: I think I’ve read the lore. I read TehLulu’s history of the Undead war, I read all the pages on the wiki that were linked to from the front page, and I’ve read about a bunch of guilds on the forums, and a very well-written post on how Orcs speak. -Name the 4 races on this server. Human, Elf, Dwarf, Orc. Including the noble races, then Ascended and Undead, although they’re going to be removed soon with LotC 2.0. -How did you hear about us?: Minestatus.net. -Did you vote?: Of course. Each of the three buttons. -What was your favourite Law?: No griefing. -What was your least favourite Law?: I at first disliked the no stealing law, but then I discovered I overlooked the villain application system, which I think is a very clever way to limit beginning RPers such as myself (maybe not a beginner, but I’m not incredible) so they can learn better RP without having the tools to ruin other people’s enjoyment of the server.. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? UltraRed In-Character: -Character Name: Lokria Glylana. (Yes, I’m a guy playing a female orc. Judge me if you want, but I haven’t see many female characters on this server, so I’m doing my part to even it out. Plus, I think playing a female orc will prove to be very interesting RP.) -What is your Race?: “Me orc! Me tough strong bruddah, pushdug quikspawn. Go away far, pushdug. Smelly.” *wrinkles nose* -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: UltraRed -Biography: ((I’m not entirely sure if characters just... spring into being at the Cloud Temple, but I’m going to assume they don’t. The lore is a little bit ambiguous on that, however. Anyway, Lokria’s father was NOT killed by a group of marauding Orcs when she was very young. In fact, her father, and her mother, and herself, were PART OF a group of marauding Orcs until her mother died. She grew up in said band of marauding orcs, not raiding or pillaging, simply living as nomads in a tribe of less than 30. They had occasional contact with Krugmar, enough that they considered themselves to be of Krugmar, but not enough to really be controlled in any way by the government. Anyway, times got tough in her tribe, so Lokria left (she’s still a bit shameful about that, and considers it one of her most wimpy, or “pointylike” actions), along with two other young orcs. They walked, and walked, and a few of them died (another source of guilt, Lokria doesn’t really subscribe to “survival of the fittest,” and considers their deaths her fault.). But eventually, they reached the outer walls of Sanjezal, and that’s where I intend to begin RPing with other people.)) -Character Age: ((27.)) -Character Appearance: “Lokria tough, strong orc. Here burn by buurz mojo!” ((Lokria is no less musclebound than any of her male counterparts. She has long unkempt black hair, rarely washed or groomed, tied behind her head with string. She has relatively few battle scars for an Orc, for she is quite young and has not been in many battles, but she has a burn mark, that she displays proudly, from when an Undead hit her point-blank in the chest with a fireball and got what was left of his ribcage smashed in before the monks saved her from death.)) -Character Personality: *pauses* “Skah Lokria, Lokria klomp. Think Lokria glub, Lokria klomp. Gruk?” ((Acts very tough, but really doesn’t have the self-esteem or confidence to act independently. She doesn’t have that much confidence in her fighting skills, but tries to project an air of combat prowess and superiority so she doesn’t have to fight. As would be expected, this doesn’t work very well in the combat-driven, aggressive society of the orcs.)) -Your ambitions: *whispers* “To be best and most good orc at klomp wib zult!” ((In reality, she’d like to not have to worry about all this fighting, all this conflict. She says she wants to be the best at swordfighting because she believes that then, nobody will be able to hurt her, and any fight she goes into she will emerge from unscathed. In her mind, she has a simultaneous glorified image of battle and war, and a little voice saying “I don’t want that.” But then, she also feels a bit shameful that she doesn’t seek battle, because she associates weakness and wimpiness with elves. So, she’ll be very outspoken and insulting towards elves, to distance her from the elves in the eyes of others.)) -Can your character read or write?: “Paper for treeuggers to read, an’ bruddahs to burn buubs wib!” ((No, and she doesn’t want to. Reading is for sissies. Writing is for people too weak to hold a sword.)) -Can your character mine?: “Mine?” *laughs* “Shinies all mine. Stowts mine shinies for me and make shinies into zult to klomp pretty pointy-ear treeugger ‘eads.” ((She’s strong enough to swing a pick with little skill and plow through a fair amount of rock, but considers it beneath her, and so won’t unless ordered to by a superior.)) -Are you a capable builder? Building for pretty squealers, pretty squealers flat by me unless make pretty goi. ((OOC, I’m okay, not much experience with sandstone. IC, no, not at all.)) -Can you wield a sword?: *looks at sword, strapped to waist* “Yub, one of best swordorcs.” ((note: she’s not the best, she’s very average, but prideful. Not prideful enough to need a villain app, but prideful.)) -Enjoy Farming?: “Ha ha ha! Farming useless. Farming for long-word-pointy-ears. No farm for hunters, yes farm for pointy treeuggers. Bruddas eat bubhosh buub.” ((No. She believes that a constant diet of meat is the road to strength.)) -Does your character have any special skills?: “I have dis sword for head-slice!” ((Other than being nearly incomprehensible to humans, no special skills at all.)) -A screenshot of your skin: -Other Information: I think this looks like a fantastic server.
