THE KING IS DEAD!!!

It has been announced that his majesty, King Frederick I, was killed during the recent raid by the men of the Barony of Acre. The raid began during the King's most recent address during the regular meeting of the Royal Court. A brief but bloody battle took place in the hall where the men of Acre made quick work of the loyal defenders of King and Country attending the address. After the men of Acre left the hall victorious, they ransacked Castle Stassion in search of the King. He was found, cornered, in his royal quarters and was killed as the men of Acre made their way into the room.

Upon the completion of their raid, the men of Acre returned to the hall to tend to their wounds and celebrate their victory. What citizenry, who were not attacked by the raiders, that were still in the hall were invited to ask questions of Sir Gustaf de Vilain. He revealed during these questions that should his faction win the Civil War, the city of Vienne will be razed to the ground, comparing the action to "setting up a new field, sometimes you must burn the old, just like nature with forest." While this may alarm the citizenry who call the city home, the Baron has clarified that those residing in the city would be cared for and be provided accommodations after the city is razed until they determine where they will go. Lastly, the Baron declared that the men of Acre WOULD NOT be taking over the Kingdom of Oren. Instead, they would discuss with the current vassals and peers of Oren in regards to their lands and what is in store for them as the future looms closer. They made an important note that whatever may occur after their victory, the Kingdom of Oren would be no more, and would again disperse into history.

As of the writing of this special edition of the Vienne Herald, no public announcements have been made about the current state of the country by any remaining elements of the Royal Court and/or the Royal Family. We have yet to see how the government or the people of Oren will respond, however as elements of the Kingdom do remain, a challenge will certainly present itself to the men of Acre.
