Born in the wilds of Aegis, his early life consisted of farming, mining, and hunting. From an early age he used a bow when hunting and would go out into the forest for target practice. As he grew older he became more accurate with his bow. Farming and mining became less enjoyable for him as he started to dream of life in a city as a great warrior. He had made a wooden sword and kept it secret from his parents, practicing alone in the woods. While practicing with a wooden sword he lost his grip it bounced off a tree and grazed the skin above and below his left eye. He told his parents he was attacked by a wild animal, but scared it off after stabbing it with one of his arrows. As he grew older he became more skilled with a sword. One day while practicing he hit a tree, which is what he used when practicing, but he hit it harder than normal and his wooden sword broke in two. He figured that now would be the best time to create a stronger sword, so he went into his family’s resource mine to mine out two pieces of stone. He didn’t realize but his father happened to be down there and was wondering what he needed with just two pieces of stone. As he went back out into the woods he found the crafting bench, he created in secret, which he often used to make anything he might need. He didn’t realize that his father had followed him. As his father watched him walk up to the crafting table and put the stone in followed by a stick, he realized what he was making. His father waited for him to finish crafting the sword and then confronted him about it. After a long discussion about why he made the sword and what he was using it for his father paused and said this to him, “Son I think it’s time I told you a story.” His father went on to tell him about how he used to be a knight in small kingdom. And how he met his wife who was a baker who taught children how to read and write during her free time. Eventually the kingdom went to war and lost and was forgotten over the years. “Eventually your mother and I settled down here, and decided to start a family. Then you came into our lives and our dreams were just falling into place.” After a long pause to let his son take it all in he said this, “Son don’t let anyone stomp on your dreams. Your mother and I will support you and cheer you on. How about this, when I am feeling up to it why don’t I help you practice.” Agathor was relieved. He was surprised that his father had been a knight. A few seconds later he said, “That would be great dad.” “For now let go back up to the house and discuss it with your mother. I’m sure she will be proud of you.” His mother was angry at him for lying about his scar but was very proud of his dream and told him he should be proud too. After a few more years of following his father’s teaching and sparring with him, he had gotten better with a sword than he was with a bow. He would even take it out hunting. His father had taught him how to sneak up on his prey and attack before they even realized he was there. He was 18 now and his father was 44. His father realized that there was not much else he could teach him about swordplay, and with his age he wasn’t able to move as quickly as he used to. So he decided the best thing to do was to teach his son how to mine and how to repair tools and armor. He didn’t want to make too much armor as to raise suspicion from anyone who might be passing nearby, so he just made some iron boots. He told his son to use these when hunting from now on. One day Agathor returned to the house and told his father that it seemed like the iron boots and stone sword were starting to get worn down. His father took this chance to show his son how to repair items. After learning the basics of repairing items Agathor now wanted to learn how to mine the items required to make the boots. Eventually his father taught him the basics of mining. Over the next few years Agathor would mine materials, hunt for food, and repair his equipment if it seemed to be getting worn down. When Agathor was 22 a great tragedy happened that would change his life forever. His father’s fears were about to come true. Someone had realized that this small house in the wilds had weapons and armor in it. One day a group five of hooded people were seen walking toward the house. Agathor’s father told his to run out the back way into the woods and not come back until it looked safe. His father was hoping that they were just recruiting, and he wanted it to look like they didn’t have any children. As Agathor watched from the woods one of the hooded people shouted something that he couldn’t quite make out, and then his father walked out the front followed by his mother. One of the other hooded people entered the house. Agathor could hear banging and crashing coming from inside the house. The hooded person that had gone into the house came out and shook his head. The hooded man who had shouted lit up a torch and threw it into the house. When the flames started to rise he took off his hood. He was a human with dark hair with and single strip of white on his right side. He said something to Agathor’s father and drew out a diamond sword and killed Agathor’s parents. This time when he shouted Agathor could just barely hear it, but he said, “Search the woods he has to be out there somewhere!” Agathor ran deeper into the woods and hid in some bushes that he used when he used to hunt with a bow. They were much larger and thicker now so he figured it was a good spot. After a long period of time of searching through the woods the five people regrouped close to where Agathor had been hiding. They each took of their hoods. The man who had been shouting seemed to be the one in charge. Now that Agathor was closer he could see that the man had a scar on his right eye much like his own. He also noticed that there was an orc, a female elf, a male elf, and a dwarf in their group. The dwarf suggested that they burn down the forest and flush the boy out. The man in charge said, “No. We don’t need to attract the attention of anyone else. We will leave for now. The boy has nowhere to run to. We will go back to camp and return tomorrow.” Before they left the wood the man looked in the direction of where Agathor had been hiding. He quickly turned around and followed the others out. Agathor waited till night fall and then went back to his house, or what was left of it. It was mostly ashes with a few area that were still glowing with embers. As he walked through the ashes with tears in his eyes he came upon his parents. They looked peaceful. After a few moments he realized that his father’s hand looked as if it were pointing in a direction. He got up and walked in the direction. He came upon a box. In the box there was a letter. He looked for a light source but the only thing bright enough was the torch that was used to burned down their house. The letter read. Dear Agathor, If you are reading this it means that both your mother and I have passed away. I hope that you aren’t reading this too early in your life. If we died by someone else’s hands please try to find it in your heart to forgive them. Son you should travel to the Cloud Temple. There the Monks will guide you on what you should do. Take some supplies with you it will take about 1 and half years to get there on foot. There will be many towns that you will pass. Take the few Minas that we have stored in this box to use on your journey. Be wary the path ahead of you is a long one. Know that your mother and I loved you very much and this house and you were our dreams come true. But now it is time for you to make your dreams come true. Don’t let this place slow you down. Set out as soon as you can and start off on your journey. We will always love you, Mom and Dad That night Agathor dug two shallow holes in the ground under where the house used to stand. He placed his parent in the ground and buried them. Place two signs on some stone for their grave markers and said a little prayer. Before dawn he collected supplies that he could find that weren’t burnt too badly. At sunrise he set out on his journey. He wanted to get away as quickly as possible because he knew that that group was coming back today to search for him again. If he ever comes across that man he isn’t sure what he would do. During his travels he met many people and learned many new things. He even had a job as a messenger for a month. Now at the age of 24 Agathor has finally made it to the Cloud Temple. Upon his arrival the Monks there told him that he must do away with all his belongings and start fresh. They told him where the main human cities were. Now on his own again with only a few Minas he starts his journey towards his dreams. -Character Age: 24 -Character Appearance: Tall, brown hair, brown eyes, brown beard and light skin.
