Resignation of the 4th Censor

I write this missive both to the people of the great nation of Balian and to my fellow council members. I write to inform you all of my resignation from the council, not through any malice or anger, but from the simple fact that I am not the most qualified candidate for this position on the council, and there is no point in trying to be something I am not, a government man, when this great Kingdom would be better served by my investing of time into the military and my family. This is not out of any dissatisfaction, but out of the simple desire to fulfill my duties as the king’s servant to the best of my abilities. With that, I wish my fellow councilors the best, and I will be willing to assist in any matters, government, personal, or otherwise. Ave Balian, Ave Alexandros.

The Countess of Aquilae and Procurator sends a flower basket. Hidden within velvety petals is a long-resting wine, aged for many years and just ripe for a sip. Alongside the prized drink is a note, reading simply, 

"Enjoy. -JV." 

One can only hope the now retired Censor enjoys his time off, the woman beginning to think now on who she wishes her own future replacement to be. She has been Procurator since the mere age of fourteen, afterall.
