SimplySeo 6999 Share Posted July 31, 2023 Letter of Condolences Addressed to HRM, James Leopold Alstion, His Wife, Queen Edith, HRH, Adela Olympe of High Peak, and the Peoples of Aaun To the family of Henry Charles Alstion, I wish to offer my heartfelt condolences for this terrible loss which you have suffered, not just as monarchs and ladies and lord- But as a family. I know more than most how oft people forget that those that rule them are as much a family as themselves. Nobody, neither Baker nor King, should suffer the loss of a son before their time- Or a husband, while you yet have a life to live together. My children mean the world to me, and I love them more than life itself. I cannot imagine having to shoulder the burden of kingship while suffering such a loss. I would rather endure a thousand deaths than to outlive any one of my beloved children. Likewise, the grief of losing one's spouse so early on is a tragic loss that I can only slightly better comprehend, due to my wife having gone missing in the years of our engagement. Grief is a slow poison, strong at first, and, as you grow used to it, you believe it fades over time, it does not. It strikes when you least expect it- A passage from their favorite book, a painting of them on the shelf, a memory of happier times, a scent on the wind that reminds you of them. All of these are like a twisted dagger in the heart. To ask you to be strong in such a time would be too much- How can one be strong when the pain is so great? Yet when you harden against that pain, and when the grief is no longer so overwhelming, I hope from the bottom of my heart that you are yet able to find happiness in life, as I am sure the Prince would've wished for all of you. I did not know him long, or well, but what little we spoke left a lasting impression, and I remain impressed, and mourn what could have been. I will pray for him, I will pray for you, and know that myself, and the House Arthalionath mourns with you. To the peoples of Aaun, I likewise share your loss, and I encourage you to be kind and forgiving to your ruling family in these times, as I expressed above- Politics and personal ambition often leads people to forget that the man who sits on the throne, who holds court in his mighty tower, is a man, just you or I. Men are fragile things, and though monarchs are stronger than most, that does not lessen the pain, but rather, see it endured for your sake as subjects, to whom a duty is held to still. Have faith in your monarch, but be considerate of them, and, I advise, be selfless and be kind in this time. For just as a Kingdom needs a King, the King needs his people, if for nothing else, then a reason to roll out bed when the pain threatens to overwhelm. By the Grace of GOD Tar-Númenatâr Foronathor of House Arthalionath, Founder and King of Númendil, King and Protector of the Adunians, Lord of the Númenaranyë, Númenost, and the Barrowlands, High-Chieftain of the Númenedain and the Harren’hil, Conqueror of the Sharadûn, Templar of the Archangel Michael, and Knight of the Realm.
