The ritual of ascension is to Nephilim the most sanctified act there is. In it is endowed the very ultimate sacrifice any living descendant can perform; to die, if for duty. 

 

To go through Ascension, one must be bestowed a Wardren; forged through the blood of the seeker-of-fire so that it is linked upon his heart and his soul. Upon the Wardren are writ the three trials; 

 

A trial of strength, 

 

A trial of wisdom, 

 

A trial of fortitude, 

 

And only upon the successful and honorable victory over these trials, shall the wardren then recognize that one is fit. 

 

To be nephilim is not merely a change, it is a death. Whatever rises from the lake of fire rises as a newborn, a hatchling melted and reforged into a new being. 

 

The process destroys the one who was before, burning what they were and making what they are now, emptying them as a new vessel to receive Asioth, and ultimately, serving the good of our the Nephilim and to fight, not for themselves, but for the world at large. 

 

How else should immortality be spent? Not for oneself, but for all others. 

 

Hence it is that no nephilim ever ought to be created from whim, from old and dead promises, or from sheer, dull, madness. 

 

THE VOTE OF ASCENSION

In order to ascertain the purity of the seeker-of-fire, who would so rise as a nephilim, so it is made that the nephilim sect of Redmont, are to follow the traditions of old stemming from the oldest amidst our kin, as were known in the days of Alistair. 

 

Such a decision is borne out of new revelation, a revelation borne out of the blood of a god, and the apotheosis of our Father into a god, so that we might be further united, that each herald - each one who might ascend be able to rise in full sight of all and be heralded as a true brother or sister of the Red Mountain, made holy, made blessed ; as the seat of where our glorious Father would begin his quest for godhood.

 

Every seeker-of-fire that a nephilim would bestow a wardren upon shall be brought before nephilim in a public ceremony, open to all, in a sacred area. As he prepares to do so, the master to the seeker-of-fire shall go and ring the hallowed bells to call the Nephilim to the temple grounds. 

 

There, they shall be scrutinized by the azdrazi present, their fitness evaluated, their faith tested, their mettle truly stretched thin until truly it is determined that they are worthy of the attempt itself, to become dragon;

 

When the nephilim gather, they shall make judgement of the seeker of fire, and after questioning and testing the seeker shall speak thusly; 

 

Zhak az-uz nath; This one burns bright

 

Or they shall say 

 

Zhak az-ko fa ; This one is broken 

 

Only then, in that ceremony, can they then be bestowed their wardren, now with full recognition of the importance held within that dark-metal relic, holding the very key not merely to ascension, but to a new life, a new paradise, a new duty. 

 

ASCENSION

Udaaria

 

To Ascend as nephilim is to know agony. It is to know the fiercest of fires. It is to know and to cast oneself down upon the greatest of humilities - it is a rite upon which the soul is remade in the hottest of fires, a magic so profound it is near ageless. In the act, are we reminded of the yet lingering power of Dragur, and the day upon which our Father was born. 

 

To birth a nephilim, is to birth Azdromoth once more. 

 

As such, a ritual of ascension is performed in a place of holiness, akin to the temple of Tor-Praeth, the depths of holy Naldroth, or the very heights of the red mountain. As it were for the vote of ascension itself, it is an event for all nephilim, whereupon the master of the seeker-of-fire shall ring the hallowed bells twice more. When the nephilim do gather, they shall then assess the seeker of fire one last time, listing the victorious trials and accomplishments of the seeker-of-fire with great praise, and they are appropriately prepared by all who gather, for what is to come; 

 

And they shall thus declare:

 

Abar lour zhak-az

 

Praised be this one

 

Such preparation is never to be scorned, never to be rejected ; for in a nephilim badly made, or too quickly given life, is akin to the sword which will shatter in battle. 

 

There are few things in this world, few magics, that are greater than the very act of giving birth. Thereby, one cannot understate, neither can one overstate, the sheer greatness of it all. Let none besmirch that act, and let they wallow in stone. 

 

To die, is to serve. 

 

To burn, is to live, 

 

To be nephilim, is to be radiant.

THE FIRST ASCENDENCY AMENDMENT

 

No seeker, herald, or person, or concept, or idea, may PASS the vote if they have unfinished trials. 

- As of the singular and ONLY exception which has led to this amendment, they shall finish their trials as debt before the reception of a wardren and receive trials that reflect such scrutiny. 

- There will be no more exceptions to this rule and amendment.
