The people of the Silasian forest pride themselves in their horses, with many breeds being present in the Duchy of Brabant. From battle-ready steed to a strong working companion, the Ardau of Silasia come in many different varieties.

BERZATERIS ARDAU

The Berzateris Ardau, or Birchknight Horse, is aptly named such due to the colouration of its pelt and its purpose.

The Birchknight is has a faint, off-white pelt, that is dotted with messy black spots, making it blend in remarkably against the birch trees of Silasia. This breed is primarily bred by the Ducal House of Whitewood.

This line descends from the horses used in the Aevos Coalition war, ensuring the toughness, and affinity for riding into battle. They have been bred to have strong hindquarters, allowing them to sprint better.

The personality of the Berzateris can be described as quiet and aloof. They do not react to sudden crashes or bangs, but they still require war training and conditioning.

MONAKYS WARMBLOOD ARDAU

The Monk Warmblood is an all rounder horse, used by the common man in brabant. They’re name comes from the fact that these horses are a popular breed amongst the local clergy for work in monasteries and travel. Also, the cloak of a monk normally blends in against the pelt of this breed.

The Monakys Warmblood tend to have friendly and inquisitive personalities, excited to sniff and inspect new things making them good companion horses, but difficult to train as they get easily distracted.

DUINYS ARDAU

The Duinys is a strong breed of draught horse, bred to haul stone from quarries during the period of construction of the Duchy. Their name is derived from the lake, Loch Duin, along which these horses pulled carts of stone along.

The Duinys are docile horses, making them very easy to work with. Their pelts can range from pearl white, to a creamy colour. Their beauty is contrasted by the heavy labour they do.
