A series of straw-dotted, dusty letters in a fancy script, apart from a series of signatures at the bottom of the page, are delivered to letterboxes about Dunwen and beyond.

 

We, the Scarecrow Union of Dunfarthing, cordially invite you to a Particularly Fancy Dinner Party.

 

In lieu of any of us being able to eat – we have no dining rooms, and as such, this will be held in the grand Dancing Porter’s Pub of the Town Hole.

 

Catering will be supplied by the professionally trained Chef Whiskers, and sous-chef Blueberry Muffin.

 

A fancy-dress theme is also encouraged.
