To Sigrun Stonehammer, Hero of Dungrimm,

Sigrun, I acknowledge your concerns, and it’s true that mercenaries have been sought by the Ember Alliance—but only for defense. Let it be clear to all that Hefrumm does not intend to march on the capital or seek bloodshed. Our sole aim is to protect our lands from any attempt by Ulfar to forcibly remove us from what is rightfully ours. Already once have they marched on the village, we would be foolish to believe it would not happen again. We are prepared to defend Hefrumm, but we do not desire conflict within the heart of Urguan.

I want to state firmly that I, along with the Ember Alliance, am strongly against Dwarven blood being spilt—whether by Dwarven hand or by the hand of Yrromarri. The sacredness of our people, as taught by the Brathmordakin, must not be forgotten. We seek peace, not a war among kin. Any suggestion otherwise is misguided.

I must also raise a critical point: when the King calls forth these long-missing dwarves to his forces, where are they when the kingdom lies empty and barren? They return at his command for conflict, only to disappear again once the fighting is done. These dwarves, who should stand by Urguan in times of peace and prosperity, only seem to emerge when blood is called for. Is this the kind of leadership we are to trust—one that cannot hold its people together except in moments of bloodshed?

Furthermore, I know nothing of any supposed note from a necromancer. I have never had dealings with such forces, and I would personally condemn any connection to the unholy art of necromancy. Let this matter not distract from the true issue at hand—the King’s neglect of our people and his disregard for the sacred oaths binding Hefrumm and Urguan.

As for the Iron Assembly, it was hastily called, and does not fit within our schedule. If the two sides wish to have a meaningful discussion, then I propose we determine a more suitable time, where we may speak freely and openly, with you, Sigrun, as a trusted moderator. The path forward must be one of dialogue, not hostility.

I urge you, and all of Urguan, to keep the peace and let us resolve this through discourse, not bloodshed.
