Labor in Unity: The Fields of Aevos

All the races of Aevos are bound by an ancient and cruel system. We live under the shadow of kings and lords, highborn and privileged, all of whom hold dominion over our lands, our labor, and our lives. Our lives are not our own. We are born into chains, fed only what our rulers choose to give us, and made to believe that this is the natural order of the world.

But we, the oppressed, the downtrodden, and the forgotten, must ask ourselves: Why must it be this way?

  1. The Tyranny of the Few

Aevos is a land ruled by the few -the wealthy, the powerful, the aristocracy- who claim dominion over the earth, the people, and all that is within it. The monarchs and the nobles hold all the wealth, all the land, and all the power, living in palaces, while the common folk toil and starve in fields, villages and towns. The disparity of wealth and power is not by accident. It is the result of a system that has been constructed over centuries, a system built on the backs of the laboring masses, but which serves only the interests of the ruling elite.

The monarchy and the nobility do not rule by virtue of their wisdom or their strength. They rule by force and the manipulation of power. They claim that they are the divine representatives of the GOD. But is this not a falsehood? Is it not clear that the power they claim is not from any divine source, but from their control over land, resources, and the means of production? It is a system built to serve their interests alone, to bind the people in a perpetual cycle of servitude, as though justice itself has been twisted to their benefit.

As Charles J. Temesch argued, justice cannot be simply the will of the powerful. True justice, as he believed, is rooted in equality and fairness. It is the assurance that the fruits of our labor are shared by all and that the power to shape our future lies with the people, not with a few elites. Justice must be a universal right, not a privilege granted only to those born into wealth.

  1. The True Nature of Justice

We must reflect upon what justice truly means. Justice is not the will of the powerful. It is not the will of kings, nor the laws of the land. Justice is the balance of equality, of opportunity, and of fairness for all people. Justice is the ability to live freely, to share the fruits of our labor, and to own the land we cultivate. Justice is the right to live without the constant threat of oppression, to exist without fear of the whims of an aristocracy that does not know our pain.

Today, in Aevos, we are denied justice. The peasants labor while the nobles feast. The miners dig deep into the earth while the lords live in grand palaces. Should justice be something only promised in the next life, while we suffer and toil in this one?

No. True justice must be realized in the here and now. The workers of Aevos must be able to claim the fruits of their labor and the right to live freely, without being shackled by the decrees of lords who own what they did not earn. In the vision of af Brasca, the system of governance must be one that is responsive to the people, where rights are upheld, not as gifts from the rulers but as fundamental pillars of society. Justice, he asserted, must be grounded in law, not the arbitrary whims of the powerful.

  1. The Illusion of Power

What is power? Is power the right to rule over others? Is it the right to control the land and its resources? Is it the blood lineage? In Aevos, power has long been defined as the right of the few to dominate the many. The nobility and the aristocracy use their control over the land and the people to enforce their rule. But this is a lie. Power is not the privilege of the elite—it is the birthright of the people.

The true power of Aevos lies not in the hands of the elite, but in the hands of the common folk—the workers, the peasants, the miners, the artisans, and the soldiers. The people hold the power to shape their world. We are the ones who till the soil, who forge the steel, who build the cities, and who fight the battles. It is through our labor that the world turns. It is time we recognize this power, and take back what is rightfully ours.

  1. The Future of Aevos

The future of Aevos does not belong to kings, queens, or princes. It does not belong to the nobles or the aristocracy. The future of Aevos belongs to the people—the workers, the peasants, the artisans, and the soldiers. We are the ones who will shape the destiny of this land, not the tyrants who rule us.

But for this to happen, we must first recognize our common heritage. We must cast aside the divisions of race and class that have been used to divide us. We are all opressed, and our struggle is one struggle. We must unite to overthrow the chains that bind us, and to build a new world—a world based on justice, equality, and freedom. As Temesch and af Brasca asserted, the people must ensure that everyone is free to participate and challenge those in power, the world must be shaped by the collective will of its people, no just the whims of the nobility.

The future is not theirs to dictate. It is ours to shape.

In his endless delve of learning and curiosity, a young devil drifted his sable, curved claws across the new publishing.

Interesting ideas. New sentiments. And, yet...

Somehow, he doubted his kin would be allotted a place in this justice of the land, and he doubted his kin would be accepted as equals even by those that echoed such strange political ideas.

even so, he could hope.
