As is stipulated under the Ordinances of Wittenbach Way, elections must be facilitated  Upon death, removal from office or resignation or Retirement of the Bourgmestre so that the people of the Free Port of Chambery might choose an elected leader to represent them.

With the pending retirement of the Bourgmestre Nicolas de Wittenbach, a new Bourgmestre of Chambery must be elected from among its residents. Thus, municipal elections as hencely open to individuals who meet the following requirements:

1) Bourgmestre

- Eligibility : The candidates must be a  citizen or Property Owner of The Free City of Chambery, either commercial or residential or a confirmed Celestial Trustee.

- Election :Candides may give their candidacy for Bourgmestre but must be accepted as such by all the Guilds of Chambery.

Once an official candidate they will be elected during an election by the Citizens of Chambery.

Candidacies shall be closed in Four Saint’s Days time. Thereafter Candidates will be approved by the Guilds of Chambery, Then the polls shall be opened and will close exactly one year following this proclamation.
