The Valentines Brigade & Game Night 

 

Valentine’s Day is commonly associated with a day to express love and affection for loved ones through gifts, cards, and other gestures. Yet it did not become a day to celebrate romance until the 14th century. It gets its name from a famous saint called St Valentine yet we do not know who exactly they were. It is said by popular belief that he was a priest from Rome in the 3rd Century AD.

Emperor Claudius II and his army were involved in many battles. However, he believed that married Roman men did not make very good soldiers because they were reluctant to go to war and leave their wives and families behind. As a result, he decided to ban marriage. Valentine found this decision unfair, so he broke the rules and secretly performed marriages.

 

When Claudius discovered what Valentine was doing, he threw him in jail and sentenced him to death. According to legend, Valentine fell in love with the jailer's daughter. On February 14, the day he was to be executed, he sent her a love letter signed, "From your Valentine."

 

However, it was not until around 496 AD that was officially held as the first Valentine's Day as an adaption of the Roman festival called Lupercalia. Later on, the church wanted to turn this festival into a Christian celebration and decided to use it to remember St Valentine too. Gradually, St Valentine's name started to be used by people to express their feelings to those they loved.

The Valentines Brigade

The Cloud Temple Monks will parade around the nations of Aevos handing out bouquets of roses and sweet delights to the citizens that they visit - As well as these gifts the monks will also be giving affirmative notes of love and gratitude through song or dance! The Cloud Temple monks welcome all of Aevos to join in on their parade. Bring your loved ones to join in on the festivities of love and joy!

 

The parade will conclude at the Cloud Temple with many activities to enjoy such as; 

Arts and Crafts: Learn to make your own Love Heart!

Card Making: Gift them to your near and dear ones!

Bouquet Making: Embrace the language of flowers
Food and Craft Stalls

 

Game night

Join us for an exciting game night in the LotC Discord! We're going to be playing King of the Castle where strategy, teamwork, and a bit of cunning will determine who reigns supreme. Gather your friends, bring your competitive spirit, and get ready for a night filled with fun, laughter, and unexpected twists as you fight with your house to become king of the castle!
