FOREWORD

 

For many years, have the Urukhai largely ignored the arts of alchemy, and the further alchemies. In fact, no smog covered the sky, no metal arms laboured, and no sentient weapons were made. The minds of the Urukhai, however, burn as fiercely as their forges, and their spirits are as unyielding as their steel. The ancient craft of alchemy, of transmutation and refinement, is not beyond the reach of the Urukim—it is their right, their inheritance, and their path to the future.

Thus, we cast aside the ignorance of the past and step forward into a new era. The Philosophers’ Horde is formed not only to bring alchemy to the Urukhai but to prove to all that wisdom and strength are not opposed forces, but two sides of the same unbreakable iron.

1. THE FORMATION OF THE PHILOSOPHER’S HORDE

 

The Philosopher’s Horde is hereby declared an official initiative of the Urukhai, dedicated to the study, mastery, and advancement of alchemy among the children of Krug. This initiative shall serve as a bastion of knowledge, a crucible of wisdom, and a forge for the minds of those willing to learn.

 

PROCLAMATION OF THE ALKEMIGOTH

 

It is by right of wisdom, honor and deed that Obs Obs of Raguk is proclaimed Alkemigoth, the first and greatest of the Horde’s mentors, a first among equals. The Alkemigoth shall oversee the training of new minds in the alchemical arts, ensuring the industrialization of Urukhai brewing and the elevation of their craft beyond mere potions and concoctions. Under this guidance, the Horde shall seek innovation, discovery, and mastery over the elements.

 

2. THE STRUCTURE OF THE PHILOSOPHER’S HORDE

 

The Philosopher’s Horde is structured to ensure that knowledge is not hoarded, but passed on in an unbroken chain from teacher to student. This structure shall be as follows:

 

• Each mentor within the Horde shall be assigned a cohort of three students, bound to them until their training is complete.
• Each cohort shall bear a designation, both in number and name, beginning from 1-1 and ascending.
• Cohorts shall train under their mentor until they prove their mastery of the fundamental alchemical arts and are deemed fit to continue their own experiments.
• Teaching further alchemies shall require the creation of a further cohort.
• Animatii cohorts are to be prefixed with A, starting with A1-1, and ascending up. Similarly, Smogger cohorts are to be prefixed with S, and Tawkin - with T.

 

3. THE OATH OF THE NATURAL PHILOSOPHER

 

Let all who enter the Philosopher’s Horde as students shall take upon themselves the mantle of Natural Philosopher, and with it, a sacred vow.

VOW OF THE PHILOSOPHER

Let each Urukim within the initiative swear solemnly upon their honor the following:

 

• To seek knowledge not for the self alone, but for the betterment of the Urukhai and all kin who would learn.
• To seek knowledge primarily for creation, and secondarily for destruction.
• To uphold the honor of the Philosopher’s Horde and conduct oneself with wisdom and discipline.
• To train at least one full cohort upon graduation, ensuring the continuation of the Horde’s knowledge and its growth across generations.

 

4. THE GOALS OF THE PHILOSOPHERS’ HORDE

 

The Philosopher’s Horde does not seek mere survival—it seeks progress. To that end, its members shall pursue the following aims:
 

THE FOUR PRINCIPLES

 

Akin to the four physical signs, let each Urukim within the initiative swear solemnly upon their honor the pursuit of these four goals:

 

• The advancement of alchemical techniques to improve warfare, medicine, metallurgy, and industry.
• The refinement of orcish brewing from a pure warrior’s craft to a mixed, more scholarly pursuit.
• The development of Great Works, alchemical marvels that shall cement the name of the Urukim among the greatest scholars of the age.
• The establishment of Horde Laboratories, where research, experimentation, and the passing of knowledge and materials may be conducted freely.

 

Thus is the Philosopher’s Horde formed, thus is the Alkemigoth crowned, and thus shall the Urukhai claim their place not only as the greatest warriors but as scholars, builders, and masters of the material themselves.
