Established in the year 1932 by Calla von Theonus, The Vallagne Medical Society was founded to provide high-quality medical care to all citizens of Petra and continue to innovate in the field of medicine. At the heart of this institution are deeply dedicated physicians, surgeons, and medics who all tirelessly provide a vital service to the city of Vallagne and the entire Commonwealth of Petra. And that’s something that is still going on, even after years, we are still treating and teaching all the Citizens of The Commonwealth of Petra and much more around Aevos!

HEAD PHYSICIAN

At the helm of the hospital in Petra stands the esteemed head, a figure of great skill and unwavering devotion. This leader, along with the dedicated team of doctors, oversees the establishment with a commitment to excellence. Their responsibilities are diverse and dynamic, ranging from crafting and implementing policies that ensure the highest standards of care to overseeing employment practices that build a strong, capable team. They are also dedicated to ensuring that all medical services meet rigorous quality benchmarks and leading the charge in critical situations, ensuring swift and effective action. This honorable title is not just a position; it is a singular honor, held by only one individual at a time, symbolizing leadership and responsibility within the medical community.

ASSISTANT HEAD PHYSICIAN 

The appointed successor to the Head Physician, this role is a crucible of learning and leadership. The individual in this post delves into the intricate workings of the hospital, mastering its systems and procedures. They shoulder responsibilities that the Head Physician cannot, demonstrating their readiness to take the helm. And, with a passion for knowledge and a commitment to the next generation, they guide aspiring medics through the fundamentals of their craft, nurturing the future of the medical community.

PHYSICIANS OF VALLAGNE

The physicians are the very lifeblood of the hospital, their expertise spanning the full spectrum of medicine, from the urgency of emergency response to the precision of surgery. They are the guardians of the public's health, their dedication a testament to their unwavering commitment to healing. To become a full-fledged physician, one must not only master the art of medicine but also share their knowledge, mentoring aspiring medics through a dedicated teaching program. This final step is a testament to their mastery and a reflection of their dedication to fostering the next generation of healers.

FIELD AND BATTLE MEDICS

While not officially physicians, field medics are vital members of the medical community, working alongside physicians to provide crucial care during battles and other conflicts. Their role is a demanding one, requiring courage, resilience, and a deep understanding of battlefield medicine. Though their service is often performed outside the hospital walls, field medics possess the same dedication to healing and the potential to become full physicians if they choose to pursue that path.

APPRENTICES AND WARDS

The Vallagne Medical Society thrives on the energy and dedication of its Wards and Apprentices, recognizing that the future of healing lies in the hands of those who are just beginning their journey. These individuals, too young to be physicians and eager to learn, represent the Society's commitment to fostering the next generation of medical professionals. They are the future of the Vallagne Medical Society, their enthusiasm and dedication ensuring the longevity of this vital institution.

REQUIREMENTS

 

The Vallagne Medical Society demands dedication and commitment from its Wards and Apprentices. To progress, each individual must complete at least three classes and pass a comprehensive test. This rigorous training program ensures that future physicians possess a strong foundation in medical knowledge and practice. However, the Society recognizes that life can throw unexpected challenges. If a Ward or Apprentice is unable to attend a class, they must immediately inform the Head Physician or Assistant Head Physician. While the Society values dedication, it also understands that circumstances may require adjustments. However, the program's timeframe is strict: those who fail to complete their training within five to ten years will be removed from the program. This ensures that the Society's resources are focused on individuals who are fully committed to their medical journey.

I. I will treat, cure, and heal those who are injured.

No matter their status, name, age, or race. 

II. I will be kind, wise, and considerate to those who are injured.

No matter how ignorant, rude, or mean one can be.

III. I will not deny treatment, as I wish treatment for myself.

IV. I will prevent illness for those who cannot protect themselves.

V. If I were to break the oath, I shall return back to where I started, to relearn and to regrow.
