With solemn heart, the Duchy of Vidaus announces the resignation of His Grace, Alric II Rickard var Ruthern, Duke of Vidaus, from his station as a peer of the realm. Heartbroken by the loss of our late King Karl IV, the Duke has chosen to devote himself to a path of penance to pray for the King's immortal soul. Alric swore his oath to Karl IV alone as king, and no other.

In his absence, Lady Ipera vas Ruthern shall serve as Regent of Vidaus, ensuring the stability and welfare of the Duchy until the rightful heir, Devana Elizaveta vas Ruthern, comes of age to inherit her birthright. House Ruthern remains steadfast in its devotion to the Haeseni Crown, honoring its duty to the kingdom and its people. Alric leaves the vast estates and all their contents to his daughter and her successors.

May Godan guide the former Duke on his journey, grant wisdom to the Regent, and bless the future of House Ruthern.
