O’ KEENSMEN,

IN ANY OTHER TIME, THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN. The Ivöri entered Tel Hochmacht, the christened Vindicta, as a gift to its people. From profane Earth we forged something Holy. With God at our side, we have prevailed. When the Petrans, Haeseni, Reinmarens struck upon our soil to sow chaos, we prevailed. In the end, as they face decimation or capitulation, we remain servants of the True Faith, the Holiest King of Kings.

 

I restored a homeland for my people. I guided, nurtured, and prepared them for a stationary world, and in our earliest months, faced a microcosm of bureaucracy, worldly affairs, and spiritual court battles. Yet, we were made for war. We did not arrive to live solely in peace, nor to become idle stewards of comfort. The role of Princeps must be distinguished as an example to its people, and advance before others in defying stagnant qualities and instead embrace the Lord God. Thus, as I prepare to rally against Iblees, I must rally as a warrior, a soldier, and foremost an acolyte of the Lord GOD.

 

Thus, I announce the abdication of my role as Princeps, to be invested upon my son, Henrik Aurelius of the House of Keen, over the next two saint years. During this period, I pass unto him all of the titles of our House, as well as the Divine Mandate graced upon us. The House of Keen’s lifeblood will never settle until it has satisfied its service to the Lord God.

 

May His Royal Highness, Henrik Keen, prevail as the greatest Princeps of our time, a steward of the Ivöri people, present and old.

It was upon his knees that Henrik Keen, the Princeps of Ivoria, prayed to the Lord GOD at a chapel before the summit of Mount Vindicta. As the world was in chaos & conflict, it was the Ivöri people who lived under the ultimate peace of the Lord GOD. He gave his prayer of thanksgiving, and upon its conclusion he stood to begin his descent towards the city of his chosen people.

Arya nodded gently to herself, hand over the missive. 

"Sunnhild will have to marry much sooner than I anticipated. I must step up and work some harder than I already have, for Lord Atticus, for my future son-in-law, and for my home. GOD be with us," Arya lit her candles and began to pray. They would need much more guidance than she thought, now more than ever. "Ave Keen."

Sitting in his office, Konrad - the Oberst of the Ivory Company, raises the parchment to a candle. As the paper took alight he leant back in his chair, reminiscing on the times he had spent with Atticus. How he had overseen the construction of Gottenthal from the humble beginnings of Camp Ivoria, the decisiveness he had shown against the adulterer Lorelei, how he had been wrongly accused of such terrible crimes - from his own allies no less - but handled all with grace and conviction till he was proven innocent in the eyes of GOD.

 

"It seems the tides of change are upon us" he mused to himself as the paper burned to ash. He readied himself for the day ahead. Intent on finding the new Princeps to congratulate him on his new position, but also to offer his vow of service and continued loyalty. Before leaving Fort Rittenmark, Konrad took the time to show one more show of respect to not only his Princeps, but his friend.
