Front Face: Face the commanding officer or superior, wherever they Are

About Face: Turn 180 degrees over your right Shoulder

Right Face: Turn 90 degrees to your Right

Left Face: Turn 90 degrees to your Left

At Ease: Soldiers are dismissed from Formation

ᴛ = ᴛᴀʀɢᴇᴛ (denotes the individual being protected, escorted, or a commanding superior)

s = sᴏʟᴅɪᴇʀs (denotes enlisted troops)
 

I. Rank Line

The same as an “At Attention” face. Best used for role-call and addresses.

Facing their commander, soldiers stand shoulder-to-shoulder to one another, looking straight ahead.

II. Column Line

Best used for marchest and organized movement.

Soldiers stand front-to-back, straight shouldered and looking straight ahead. Often while standing behind their commanding superior.

III. Spear Formation

Best used for common, non-threatening escort missions. 

The target assumes the tip of the flank, immediately flanked by two soldiers while extra soldiers reinforce the triangle’s base.

IV. Quarter Formation

Best used for high-risk escort missions, such as during active combat or protecting an infirmed or endangered target.

Soldiers assume a box formation on the target on all flanks: front, back, side, and corner.

V. Shield Wall

Best used for defensive advances, holding an entrance, or maintaining a capture point.

Soldiers assume a tight-knit shoulder-to-shoulder line on their target, equipped with interlocked shields. 

A secondary shield wall may be formed behind the first, in which archers or spears may attack between the gaps of the first.

VI. Skirmish Wall

Best used for sporadic melee harassment, while maintaining maneuverability.

Similar to the shield wall, but soldiers will instead assume a loosely spaced staggered double line.
