Grace And Strength In Dealing With Attacks On The Faith

The Saint of the True Faith I have chosen to write both my thesis on, and whom I have chosen to act as the spiritual guide in my faith is the Patron Saint of Military Officers, Mercenaries, and Deacons, St. Publius of Karovia.

St. Publius is an important figure to note both when looking at the troubled history of the faith and when looking forward as to how his life can inspire even greater piety in service. Through grace the young St. Publius, known then as Publius Bracchus, gained a reputation for his stance on repentance of sin and forgiveness in the eyes of GOD for non-human sinners, rather than execution which seemed to be common for militant monastic orders of the time of the Reformed Kingdom of Oren. The lesson that can be taken from this, which is to extend the Lord GOD’s grace to non-humans, is one that should be noted for its emphasis on virtues such as temperance, where the Lord GOD charges us not to act in wrath, but in grace.

Scroll of Virtue; 3:9 “So I am the Most High, and in pursuit of My Virtue, I bid My faithful this: You shall not raise a hand in wrath, nor in envy, nor in any kind of sin.”

The lessons of St. Publius also extended grace to those that were persecuted. In similar fashion to the Adunians of the Aevos Coalition War, St. Publius gave protection to the Adrian and Highlander clergymen. This demonstrates the charity the Lord GOD gave unto his peoples, that we may garner greater spirit by way of giving unto others. Not just in the matters of the flesh or other earthly items, but in protection and comradery.

Scroll of Virtue; 2:5-6 “And so I have placed into your hearts the blessings of abundance: the virtuous wealth of the spirit. And as I have given to you this blessing of My Word, you shall also give unto your fellows.”

Both of these examples appeal to the graceful and charitable nature of St. Publius. Yet he was not one to balk in the face of danger, nor one who wouldn’t stand for what he believed in as well as take the fight to the pagan enemies of the faith during the Eighteen Years’ War. The lesson in fighting is a current one in light of the recent War of Crown and Crozier, for the faith will constantly be beset by those that seek to dismantle it or twist it for their vision. Yet the strong must persist in their vision of the faith, and rise to the defense of the faith against those that seek to challenge GOD’s word. Faith is nothing if tested, for tested faith becomes tempered and strong.

Scroll of Virtue; 5:5-6 “And as I have created for you the struggles of the world, so too do I create the struggles of the spirit. And as I have created the struggles of the world and the spirit, so too do I bring their remedies.”

The lessons of St. Publius should then be taken as a golden example. To give grace to those blind to the love of GOD and allow them repentance, but to show strength of your faith to those that challenge His will.
