Δόξα το Θεό

 

His Emminence, Cardinal-Bishop Alexios, made his way wearily from the chamber, leaning heavily on his crozier he never more felt the age of his venerable service to the Church than in those moments. The wolves were once more at the door to the House of the LORD, but he feared he no longer had the strength for one last battle. He mused on what was now some thirteen decades of faithful service, and found that he had left little in the way of a written legacy. Oh well. Where he was going he wouldn't need to debate or argue anymore anyway. He grasped his chest as he spoke one final time to his friend, his Rabbi, his Holiness, "Your Holiness, whatever you will is my will. So let thy will be done."

 

With that, the old man barely made it to his apartments in the higher reaches of the Holy See, and settled into bed.

After some time, his Acolyte and spiritual Son, Father Jude came to him and ministered to the old man as he started to breath his last.

His eyes widened towards the end and he signed the cross with shaking hands as he offered up his spirit to his Lord, King, and GOD.

"DOXA TO THEO! GLORY TO GOD!"

 

... and reposed.

I figured it was time to say farewell to the character and make sure everyone knew who cared to look that he had moved on, and so have I. It was a blessing and a headache in equal measure. May add more, may not. We'll see.

It should be:

Δόξα το θεό (praise the lord) 

Or 

Δόξα του Θεού (Glory of God) 

 

Δόξα του Θεό makes little sense.

 

If you want to say glory to God that would be:

Δόξα στο Θεό 

Or

Δόξα για τον Θεό 

 

Sorry if I sound like a nerd, or if you wrote it like this for a purpose 😅, just though to let you know. ❤️
