Since the foundation of the Grand Duchy of Lotharia, I have led the County of San Adriano as Matriarch of Temesch et Martiel, with a great deal of honour to hold such a monumental position for my family. It has been something I have held much close and dear to my heart, a period of my life that has formed me into the woman I have become.

 

However, now I find myself wishing to abdicate the role to my eldest son Hadrian August Temesch, installing in him the power, titles and positions that come with such. I have the utmost trust that he shall perform his duties with great strength and integrity until the time comes that he passes the titles on.

Basil Temesch scans the missive with his remaining sight, though fading, he could still make out glimpses sitting on a makeshift chair he had made out of a tree stump. "Rest well, Mother. Hadrian will do great. Now I should probably head back before I'm found wandering blind."
