A TREATISE ON THE NEW WORLD

 

We are fortunate enough to have been graced with the opportunity for a new world. A fresh start on a continent largely untampered. Make no mistake though: we do not deserve the green pastures where we lay down brick and mortar for our homes and streets. The forces of the Mountain were not merely a nuisance. They were a test from God for us to determine for ourselves whether we were truly capable of uniting against a common enemy despite the theological infighting within our faith and over matters in the empire. We are unworthy of this chance that we've been given. The faithful spilled each other’s blood in the fields of Drusco and the walls of Waldemar while the Mountain’s forces were at the doorstep. As a people, we have again and again taken our Lord's mercy for granted. We must curb our hubris and learn from our undoing. The Lord has been merciful enough to grant us the ability for a fresh start. We ought to use this opportunity for redemption and bringing ourselves closer to Him.

 

I implore all followers of the Holy Word who consider themselves disenfranchised or likewise persecuted, be they Canonist or otherwise, to find compromise with the Temple of the True Faith so that the spiritual wellbeing of the faithful and communion with God can be maintained as we settle upon this new land. The same mercy we grant to our friends, we must also grant those we disagree with.. even in matters of faith. That is our Lord's prevailing mercy.

 

We must look beyond what is worldly and see our place in His grand design. We each have a role to play, and in being harmonious with Him we better serve our role. There is plenty of good work to be done. Haense refugees who sought refuge under the pagans of the Red Faith have perverted their rites, twisted the saints, and adopted the Red Faith’s symbols and tenets in their practice and places of worship as had been seen in their settlement on Aevos. The heresy must be addressed alongside the Red Faith itself. Our priests must also come together in compromise so that the Temple's structure may be put to order and maintained. We must be above sectarian infighting so that we may rebuild our faith’s foremost institution, and more importantly we must let Virtue prevail in these new lands.
