A MATRIMONY DECLARATION FROM DOVER TO OWYNSBURG

The Earl of Dover’s mood was uplifted, in gladness, at the word of the notice. He had long worried for his noble firstborn. Whereas his daughters had been highly sought after, his heir seemed to be far less comfortable under the attention that followed Aldersbergs. Nevertheless, ‘twas time to prepare for the marital festivities to come, and indeed there were many reasons to celebrate.

 

The elder of the Georges chimed a hand bell for the closest Doverian attendant. Soon a sheepish servant came. “With haste!” Commanded the Earl, “Fetch for the master of ceremonies, we must ready post haste. Now away with thee.” 

Within the afternoon, men of Highbury had raised bunting in the great hall and polished all the crystal in the castle. Everything had to be perfect, for the perfect Earl’s perfect son…

Avaline Marie Helvets, elder sister to the wonderful Eugenie, smiled the sun's smile as the missive was delivered to her through the mail. It was a bright and sunny day; perfect weather to receive such fantastic news. Avaline tucked the missive gently away into a drawer, before stepping outside of the Helvets estate, taking in a deep breath to alleviate her lungs of the suffocating pressure of her room. 

 

"Oh, Eugenie," She spoke with a soft exhale, clasping her hands together as she gazed up at the sky. "How quickly you've grown."

The door to the Aldor home flew open shortly thereafter, to reveal a panting Avaline, who had to support herself on the wall next to her as sweat trickled down her brow.

"I came here as fast as I could," The lady spoke, short of breath. A second copy of the missive, which she had somehow mysteriously obtained, was shoved in Rothwin and Roswyn's faces. 

 

"Look! My sister is getting married," She boasted.
