Olivier stood nervously by his wife's side as she contentedly cradled their newborn. Ever since the inkling of their songbird's arrival, he had become a nervous wreck, following his wife everywhere, worried when she'd simply walk downstairs from their chambers.

 

 

 

When offered to hold the bundle, he froze, worried if he even breathed too hard near her, she'd break. "She looks just like you," he'd mutter out, smiling at the red-haired, pale baby, her cheeks round and peachy.

And suddenly Olivier was struck with the knowledge that one day he may have to ward off any man who came near his little one.
