Religious_Pie 127 Share Posted November 4, 2011 Minecraft name:Religious_PieForum name:Religious_PieWhat do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?In my opinion, these are the top 5 most important factors to be included in a good application: 1) Biography:A character's biography can determine how they will react to the server, if a characters biography consists of clichés, it implies that the writer has not put any effort into their application, therefore, will most likely not put effort into Rping on the server, it is like applying for a job, but then saying that you have no degree's or any evidence that you are actually capable of performing the job correctly and professionally. Also, if a writers biography is un-capable of actually inspiring others into creating new feats of imaginary expertise, then it implies that the writer is unable to create an In-depth character profile, if someone comes up to you and says 'I am an orphan, because my village was raided by Orcs' you are not compelled to ask questions about how their back story affected the way their character responds to certain people in the world, other than how they feel about Orcs... 2) What do you know about role-playing?If a writer responds to this questions with a small answer of about 1 or 2 sentences, then it simply indicates they are not so much interested in the RP of the server, but in becoming good and using the server as a social tool instead, although this is not entirely wrong, this server has so much to offer in a sense that simply using it to talk to your mates and perform things that don't apply to the server what so ever, would be a waste of bytes, but that is my opinion. If someone was to simply say 'I have completed oblivion' although it is an RP game, it does not show any experience of RP playing with other characters and not being to reply in an RP manner. 3) Does you character have any skills?I personally think this is important because if a writer simply replies 'I am good with a sword' The fact is that they have not thought hat distinguishes a player from another player. If you go into a library, looking for a murder-mystery, you read the blurb, and pick the one that has an interesting edge, one that is controversial to other such books. It is relevant to say what skills you have, simply in the fact that a way a character looks isn't what defines a player. 4) Your AmbitionsIf a player responds that their ambitions derives from revenge from the old cliché that your village was raided by Orcs, the writer obviously hasn't actually considered how they are going to react on the server it's self. If a player says 'I want to kill the orcs that killed my parents' It's RP in a manner, but it's RP where there's a dead-end right round the corner. Ambitions could include such things as proving your relative wrong that you were going to fail (not the best example) because it is better than 'I'm going to kill as many Undead as possible.' 5) Character Personality A writer can completely flux an argument on whether they will be accepted into the server or not. If a player writes in their biography that they have killed various Orcs and/or Undead, but then says 'I am a peaceful character and make friends easily.' It makes absolutely no sense, a character full of revenge isn't going to play patty-cakes with anyone they meet! but then suddenly turns into a murderous killing machine when a green-Orc comes up and says, 'Ug' This can also result in an undefined player, a player who has no definite personality can't be at the fronts of Scene's because the chances are, they will act completely differently to such small differences that the RP will be horrible. I thank-you ever so much for reading my application to accept and/or deny applications. Kind Regards,Alexander.
