The House of the Petra was borne of the founder Paul 'Fairweather' Salvian who with a band of hedgeknights claimed the Upper Petra upon the continent of Almaris. Since the formation of the original Knightly Republic, the House of  The Petra has stewarded the Commonwealth through two centuries of history. From war and times of peace, the Riverlands as the domains of the Commonwealth have been called have emerged in recent decades as a center of culture and the arts upon the western frontier of the Empire.

The highly respected Ducal House of Theonus has served as a sturdy bastion of support to The Commonwealth of the Petra for more than a century - Through prosperous times, and through times of strife. Many of the family have proven to be some of the closest advisors to The Royal House, while at the same time showing themselves to be a steady source of knights and governmental officials in Riviénse - in the past even serving as regent. They are honored to hold Her Grace Karla Lippe von Theonus as the first matriarch in their house’s history, who has sparked a new era for the family as it settles in Azuras. Their coat of arms bears symbols honoring their noble house, its distinguished service, as well as The Duchy of Vohenheim.

The Margravial House of Reinhold

For over a century, the House of Reinhold has flourished, proving tireless in its service to the Petran Commonwealth. Through war and peace, independence and union, a family which originated from a gaggle of lowborn scholars and artists has expanded into a house of local repute, with a determination to revive the fading Agnethe culture from which it came. Built on foundations of academic pursuit, political integrity, and militant honor, members of the House of Reinhold tend to value curiosity and sharp-mindedness in all things. Historically, many within have found work in all branches of Petran society as politicians, architects, courtiers, and knights. However, there lies between most a common thread of scholarly pursuit, a cultural love of knowledge and the worldly sciences. The natural world is seen as both something to be studied and honored, and the hunt is viewed as both a trade and a duty, taking up a significant role in Reinhold’s cultural identity.

The Viscountal House of Auclair

The House of Auclair are direct mainline descendants of the House of Valois, which originates from the lands of Asulon in the first Holy Orenian Empire. They are a house with a long and storied history who in recent memory has, through their own tireless efforts, risen to renewed prominence in receiving the barony of Rhénanie, and subsequently the Viscounty of Joyeuse. Those of the house Auclair value Honor, kindness, courage, and justice not just as ideals - but as a way of life. To each, art and performance are seen not only as ornaments, but as necessities of the soul. Taking on the responsibility of caring for Petra’s great people, and brightening our hearts with their arts - the noble house stands as a pillar of The Commonwealth’s society.

The Baronial House of Valkonen

 

The Lord, ILARION KOLYA VALKONEN,

Baron of Valkanfeldt

"Scorched, yet unscathed."

 

The Valkonens are a House born from fire and war, initially established by Rosalinde Valkonen in its uniting with the Weiss, they are renowned for their unique hair colour in pink, some may call strawberry blonde. As a Haeseni house, they take pride in their dedication to GODAN, it has always produced Knights from every branch. Even when they are falling apart, they always come back. Scorched, but unscathed. They stand for honesty, heart and skill, often seen in many administrative roles too, they have produced Priests and Chancellors alike. They serve Petra fiercely, in their quest to further the interests of the Royal family above themselves.

The Baronial house of Carnelle

Being amongst the newest of The Commonwealth’s peers at only four generations old now, the Baronial house of Carnelle has proven to be a shining light in Petra’s culture. Members of this house most often find themselves focused in the arts, helping to make our community more vibrant and alive. Whether through the medium of dance, magnificent gatherings, the practice of dog breeding and more - House Carnelle’s hard work serves to fortify the hearts of every Petran.

The newest addition to The Commonwealth’s illustrious peers, the noble House von Schwanstein has proven tireless in advancing Petra’s interests. Born amidst the fires of war, this waldenian house has bolstered our levies with unwavering resolve while enriching the cultural tapestry and governance of our cherished home. In an era where divisive forces threaten to tear us asunder, House von Schwanstein stands as a beacon, reminding us that unity is the true source of strength. Their coat of arms, proudly bearing the graceful swan - a timeless symbol of loyalty, beauty, purity, and devotion - serves as an enduring emblem of their unyielding allegiance to the Royal Family and our beloved Commonwealth. From the silvery shores of Schwanau they weave elegance into valor, transforming trials into triumphs for all who call this realm home. The first patriarch is Siegfried Aurelian von Schwanstein.
