To love is to burn. That is what life has taught me.
The ones you love will ultimately be fed to the fire before the fire claims you.
To compensate you end up loving just as much as the fire loves kindling.
At times you blind yourself or at worse, scorch yourself.

I look back on choices I've made often. Contemplating what I could have done differently to produce better outcomes. 
One choice remains the same each time.

Her.

Had I not chosen her perhaps life would have been different. Far lonelier.

Far more empty, filled with hallow achievements given by those who would rather use me as an example, a standard. 

I don't regret choosing her.

My only regret is that I am not burning hot enough to keep the threats at bay.

Aspects, hear me. I beg you.
Do not let her fall to the fire.

I need her.
