There is no more "lord Marshall" but there is a high war lord or whatever its called.

Yah, The king is the millitary leader. But the grand councilor of war and high lord of war is also millitary leaders. They act as the main leaders thought, they train you, Assign you to missions all of that. Also they lead you to battle if the king chooses not to.
