Out-Of-Character:

-Minecraft Account Name: ChaChaPanda

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: No, I was unable to attend minecon.

-How old are you?: I am 14.

-Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT + 0, England

-Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:I am a fluent English speaker.

-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:A school boy with too much spare time that all seems to get dedicated to minecraft. I play tennis, hockey and video games, and am soon to take my grade 8 guitar exam. I go to a grammar school, so I am very intelligent for my age.

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 10 hours in a usual week, it could be more or less depending on homework.

-How long have you played minecraft?:I've played for close to two years now, after hearing about it from a school friend.

What do you know about Roleplaying? What is it?: Role playing is taking on the personality, memories, actions and thoughts of a character. You think as if you were that character, rather than your real life self, what he/she would say, how he/she would respond to certain situations etc. This can be anything from exacting revenge on the man who killed your best friend to drunkenly laughing with your friends in a poorly lit tavern. I do have a LOT of role playing experience. I have been everything from a drunken dwarf battlemage to a Nordic berserker, in a lot of different games. A few good years before I started minecraft I played a good selection of RPGs, and before that, I was into the “Fighting Fantasy” (I believe they were called) role-play game book series. I have also been an avid fantasy book and film fan since I first was able to read them which is what sparked my love of role-play. Since I got minecraft, I have played exclusively on role play servers (not counting single player), so I am pretty experienced at role- play.

Some things that relate to role-play are listed below:

1) In Character (ic)- This is just the general term for role-playing as your character. If you are in character, you only know what your character knows, you only say what your character would say, etc.

2) Out of Character (ooc):-This is talking, thinking or acting as not your role-play character, but as the person controlling them through keyboard and mouse. It can be used for casual conversation when people do not want to role-play, but is also used for cheating (see metagaming).

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are:

Metagaming- This is using out of character knowledge in character. For example, if you’re playing at a friend’s house and his town gets attacked, you see it on his screen and immediately rush to his aid. Your character had no way of knowing that the town was under siege, so it is metagaming. Another example would be, for example if there was an athletics stat that was increased by being in the air (jumping). You might know that repetitively jumping off that high ledge would max this stat out in no time, but your character probably doesn’t fancy the idea of breaking his legs. All forms of metagaming are illegal.

Powergaming- This is doing things your character could not possibly do. For example, you are confronted by a ten man bandit group. Unless your character was generally acknowledged for being some sort of ninja fighter, he would have no hope in taking them all out. Therefore, doing so would be very bad role-playing and ruins the game. Power-gaming is also illegal.

-What do you expect this server will be like?: Awesome. I saw the trailer a good few months ago, but have been refraining from signing up on the grounds that my pathetic laptop couldn't take the strain. Since then, after trawling through many broken, inactive and just plain bad roleplaying servers and seeing a let’s play, I decided that I may as well take the plunge. This IS the number one role-play server.

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Too many... Darktide- the community were all spawn killing noob-farmers, Battlecraft- The whole natural map was pretty much destroyed, Iconicraft- Nobody role-played and I hated the community, forgotten realms- inactive, Knights of Cecilia- inactive, Midgard realm, heroes plug-in was ridiculously imbalanced, Minescape RPG- heroes was rigged up in such a stupid setup that you had to play for a LONG time to even use an iron pickaxe. After having all my discovered diamond ore I was planning to mine after I ranked up taken by some random guy, I just gave up. There were many before these, but I played Iconicraft for a long time, so I can't really remember anything before that. I've also hosted a server for my friends on my laptop, but this soon stopped as it couldn't handle minecraft AND a server at the same time.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, they all seemed fair.

-Name the 4 races on this server. The four races are Human, Elf, Dwarf and Orc.

-How did you hear about us?: First I saw the trailer a few months ago, and then watched a let’s play more recently. I also have seen you on minestatus.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Oops... Voted but didn't look. I think it was 4200 and something.

-What was your favourite Law?: No destroying the landscape. I hate how all the big servers seem to have nothing but a flat plain for miles away from spawn, and it will be nice to see some natural beauty.

-What was your least favourite Law?: I couldn't find any I didn't like, to be honest. They all seem fair and none seem pointless.

-What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? ChaChaPanda

In-Character:

-Character Name: R'haego

-What is your Race?: I am an Elf, a Dark Elf to be precise.

-Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: This question was already asked? I will answer again: ChaChaPanda

-Biography: R’haego was no different from any other dark elf. Unlike what some believe, they were a peaceful people, content to leave the world be. Living in a small, secluded grove deep in a moon-kissed forest, he grew up as a simple farmer, working the land by day, praying to the moon at night. He lived only with his father and mother, and their home well hidden, so in his early years he knew little of the outside world. Shortly after he reached adulthood, his parents passed away naturally, and he was left to fend for himself. He mourned for a short while, but he was sure the moon would care for them. He had never thought of leaving his small, solidarity life, but then something happened that shook his whole world.

R’haego awoke to the sound of burning, and harsh, cackling laughter. Smoke clotted his nose, and he rolled out of bed, coughing. He lay on the floor for a second, then crouched low and made his way to the door to see what was going on. Just as he was about to open it, an impulse drove him to double back and grab his father’s bow which he had preserved since he had passed away. Whatever was out there, they didn’t sound peaceful. As he left the hut, his eyes were assailed by a scene the likes of he had never seen. Ancient trees lay felled across the forest floor, dead timber littered the ground like confetti and a devilish red light lit the forest. Then, in the corner of his eye, he saw them. Black cloaked figures with unseen faces that seemed to fade into smoke when you looked straight at them, leisurely strolling down the game trail that led to R’haego’s grove. Trails of fire and destruction lay in their wake, even as he watched one turned around and blasted the foliage with pure fire. The others laughed, a vicious sound that hurt R’haego’s ears. Suddenly, the shadows fell silent. A new creature appeared, moving slowly towards the log R’haego was hiding behind. The others cowered to the side of the path, apparently struck by fear. It did not have a form; or rather it was so terrible that it could not be comprehended. It seemed to suck the colour out of the vibrant forest as it passed, leaving a grey husk. Despite never having used a bow in his life, R'haego knew what would happen if he let the beast get to close, and he knew what he must do. Drawing the bow silently, he nocked an arrow and prepared to leap up and take a shot, as he had seen his father do a thousand times. Mentally lining up the shot he would have to make, he bunched his legs, jumped upwards and released. The shot flew past the beast, missing by metres. Slowly, the monster turned to R'haego. The only part if it that looked recognisable as part of living thing was the eyes, those terrible dark red eyes, eyes that killed and burnt. R’haego felt a fear like none other. Forgetting his home, he dropped the bow and ran.

Over the next years, R’haego moved from town to town, trying to find somewhere to fit in. Unable to start up a new farm, he took odd jobs, such as guarding and even mining. When travelling, tormented by nightmares of the beast, he decided that he would not, could not bear to be helpless again. He tried to use a bow, but was unable to make himself fire a single shot. Every time, he would see in his mind’s eye, that miss that had cost his old life. So, he took up the sword. Training every night, he found ways to make up for his inherent weak strength that caused most elves to avoid swordplay and became a considerable force with a blade. This was how he continued, training, working and fighting, until he found the cloud temple of Aegis.

After years travelling, R'haego had found a place to start anew. Over the years, he would feel the hurt of losing his home less, but he trained with his sword every night, lest the beasts again. He would be ready.

-Character Age: 254, I am young for an elf.

-Character Appearance: I have dark teal eyes, very pale blond hair, and a lithe, sinewy figure. My skin is lighter than most dark elves, but still has a purple tint. I am usually seen in normal elvish tunics, with a tattered cloak slung across my back. I usually carry a sword at my hip, and will not be seen dead with a bow, despite my elfish inheritance.

-Character Personality: I am slightly reclusive, but if talked to will be friendly and happy to help. I am loyal to a fault, and I will defend a friend at all costs. I am dedicated to the task at hand, but this sometimes stops me seeing the bigger picture. I have a powerful fear of undead; however, I will overcome this to save someone I care about. From a working point of view, I rarely slack and do everything to the best of my abilities. I will never purposely give a merchant a poor living, and I have a disliking for people who do.

-Your ambitions: I want no more than to keep this simple life of mine and suffer no more. Farming the land is a kingly way to live in my eyes, with nothing to worry or care about except the weather. I also hope to become a master in the way of the sword, so I can stop a repeat of that fateful night so long ago.

-Can your character read or write?: Yes, as a child my mother taught me Elven Glyphs, as all Elven mothers do, and I read often in my old town. After I fled, I was forced to learn the common tongue to survive as I moved from town to town, living with humans and buying their goods. Soon, I became fluent in their speech too.

-Can your character mine?: No, being an Elf I was never inclined to delve into the earth’s heart when all its beauty was on the surface, and I have never wanted to hide from the moon’s guarding gaze. However, desperate circumstances call for desperate measures and there have been times when I have been forced to wield a pick just to feed myself.

-Are you a capable builder? Yes, one of the things I excelled at as a child was drawing and design. This talent soon developed into complicated design sketches, but while on the run my skills fell into disuse. With some practice, I’m sure it could all come back to me. While I do not wish to pursue this as a main career, it is something I enjoy.

-Can you wield a sword?: Yes, unlike most elves a sword is my weapon of choice. Since I failed to save my home with a bow, I have been unable to make myself take one up again, but I couldn’t let myself fall into the same traps, lest disaster strike again, so I took up the sword. Learning from various travelling warriors and testing my skills against attacking bandits, the wild soon honed my skill, and I became fairly proficient. Unlike most sword wielders, I prefer to rely on speed and evasion rather than brute strength, where my thin frame could be my undoing against other, stockier races.

-Enjoy Farming?: Yes, when I grew up my father was a farmer, and I took on the trade after him. I was good at my job, but I was unable to follow my desires when trying to find a new place to live. However, when I settle down again, I will return to what I love.

-Does your character have any special skills?: I am a good swordsman, especially for an elf. I however would prefer to make a living by farming the land than by taking lives.

-Other Information: ((I changed a lot of features about my character since my last app, mainly due to reading that night elves get a sword bonus, which was pretty essential for who I wanted R’haego to be, in my opinion. The basic personality traits are still there, with some tweaking.))
