A note to players : commenting on apps.

Hello there LOTC!

I just wanted to highlight something that seems to be popping up now and again. Back seat modding on applications.

Now. Some of you may not be aware of the application process but it goes as such. We have a dedicated app team who focuses solely on the applications of new members. These people, or the majority have 'application team' forum tag. This means they have the authority to accept or decline apps based on guidelines they have been given. GMs can also accept apps.

However, app team members will only usually look at applications with 0 replies to them. This saves the app team lots of time as these apps may have already been replied to by an app team member.

I have noticed a vast amount of non app team members commenting on fairly decent if not passable applications but, because they have replies on, are usually missed by the application team. I have often seen applications with replies saying 'wow this is really good +1' when actually, it is a good app, but was skipped.

I don't mind players commenting on apps which are clearly not going to be accepted. But please, and this is so I do not have to give out formal warnings to people who are genuinely trying to help.

Feel free to browse the apps but please, unless they look like they will obviously be denied, don't comment. If you are interested in helping out with apps, Shiftnative made a post: Here

Maybe you should make a pinned thread like this in the application sub-forum as well. Most of the time I see this '+1, I hope you get accepted posts" are from other players waiting to get accepted. I think most of them don't leave the App sub-forum very often and will not take much notice of this thread.

I personally (well at least 99% of the time) either send a PM to the person with tips or post on the topic after he got denied and doesn't understand why. This way I prevent interfering with the work of the App Team.

This is an actual problem that needs to go, It saves us (atleast me) a lot of time since I Frequently look at apps even if they have a reply on them

Sorry I was under the impression that if the application was already accepted or denied, that others were allowed to post on there. :P

I looked back in the application and my content page, couldn't find any applications that I posted on other than the one I did recently. None of the applications went past October so neither of us has proof either way... :sad:

I believe people got confused by the requirement for +1s from people who have RPed with you on VAs, it's only skimming over things and not looking into them that causes these issues.
