KidKrinkles 2044 Share Posted December 14, 2011 In Galahar a man jumped onto a crate and raised his hand into the air. It was noon and the man was hooded, irrecognizable, and alone on the stand. "Brother and Sisters of Oren, I address all of you, now, as a son of Horen. Like many of you I have faced the trials and tribulations that've followed with the fall of Al'khazar. I lost my home, my friends, and my city. I remember that dreaded day and the chaos that ensued with it. I remember the faces of everyone who fell next to me dying for Oren and you know what I can remember distinctly? Not a damned Black Cross soldier next to me fighting those Undead scum! How can you expect to listen to a king who wouldn't even fight along side his men!?" He pointed off to the direction of Al'khazar, with power and conviction in his movements and voice. "These men would force Al'khazar onto all of Aegis if it were in their power, for they are both imperialistic and militaristic in their ways and endeavors. Swords and steel are all they know, diplomacy and peace are an alien thought to them! The Phoenix seeks to bring Oren and its people into a golden age of peace, prosperity, and unity. We don't seek to divide ourselves among a police-state's rule! We fight now so we may hope to have less fights, perhaps our last, not so we can fight everyone in the name of Imperialism! He'd step off of the box and to a more eye level, one where he appears more like the crowd. "King Enor chose these people to lead us. These people who've killed us in the World War. These people who've refused to defend us in our time of need. King Enor is the same person we stepped up to fight now, who let Winterfell fall, who let Al'khazar fall, who now has Alras laughing at us. Who does nothing to quell the Orc's bloodlust towards us. Other nations laugh at us now because of the farce of a state we are under Enor. So he chooses one of those same groups to lead -us-?! With that question left into people's minds, he stepped into the crowd further, disappearing like a ghost and going back into his normal apparel. Soon after there were notes in the crowd, all labeled, "The Phoenix is Rising, you know whom to speak to Grayson."
the GOAT of the craft 606 Share Posted December 14, 2011 *thinks on what the man said* Hmm. Those who know me will know I am usually peaceful, but I believe we do not need diplomacy at this time. I believe that this "imperialistic and militaristic" new rule will be a good thing for Oren. We can become stronger under this mans rule. ((Can we just give this rebellion BS a rest now? It had a meaning with Enor, we very nearly went to war with the Orcs, the government was falling apart etc. But now it just sounds like this group is craving for power))
DecoLamb 959 Share Posted December 14, 2011 While he fought against you, you must remember he fought against a king you disliked. He fought against a city that ignored you, a monarchy that neglected you. This man has fought to protect life, fought to protect you all in his own manner. All he does, is worry for the safety of you all. This man has protected me, and my child, when Enor stormed the gates and attacked me and my infant son, if it had not been for Gaius, I would have been murdered in cold blood along with my child, bith of us unarmed and defenseless. Can you not step back and see from his eyes, if only for a moment? Align with the new king, and uou align with orcs. Align with orcs, and you algn with the elves. Humans already have a union with dwarves. While you howl that he is no good, in a small way, he has taken a step forward for the unity of us all. At the very least, allow him some time.to prove himself! You gave Enor years, at least give Gaius a week.
。◕‿‿◕。 Hawk Whitestorm 715 Share Posted December 14, 2011 A hooded man among the crowd nods in agreement with the anonymous speaker, speaking out a few words of his own. A King chosen by Enor cannot be any better than he. Enor is known for his lack of judgement, and this should be his worst yet. I expected a King who fought for Oren, not against it. Has Oren grown so desperate in these times that they are willing to crown, and accept, a known enemy of Oren? I cannot stand for this, and I hope others will not also, following the King like blind sheep. We need to be a peaceful nation in these times, not a war nation. This new king has no experience of fighting the Undead. How can he fight them now? We may have a new king, but this revolution is not over yet. With that, the man shouts one last sentence before disappearing into the crown again. "Long live the Phoenix!"
Agnub 605 Share Posted December 14, 2011 There is a lot confusion around succession. This much has been known for quite some time. It has long been believed that the previous King can simply "pass on" the crown. In practice this is true, but in spirit and reality it is not. A crown must be earned. Whether through popular support or military triumphs is a matter of debate but this key fact has become nothing but more and more apparent throughout my decades of service to Oren. I was there when King Daniel passed on the crown to King Perea, Perea to Edmund, and even Edmund to Enor. I've seen King's come and go since the very beginning. Throughout that I've seen Ezekiel become nothing but stronger and wiser. A lesson in history will show you that the Tarus' have served Oren for a very long time. Their family members have fought and spilled blood for Oren as lords and soldiers. They have served admirably in the government and always worked for the good of Oren. So tell me, what has this Gaius done for Oren? As a historian I feel I can justifiably state the King Enor has been the worst King that Oren has ever had. The loss of the capital and the north is unforgivable. He can be considered to be the King of bad decisions yet now you will let him decide your new King?! Either Oren has lost it's senses or the people have just become mindless drones willing to accept any religious renegade because he seems better than the current administration. DecoLamb 959 Share Posted December 14, 2011 And I simply must ask this.. If Gaius is unworthy of being King, who is? Who among you all will sit upon the throne and take the burden? Who among you will stand and be the shining example.of the human race? I am waiting, my siblings. I am eager to see just who thinks themselves strong enough to be the elder brother. KidKrinkles 2044 Author Share Posted December 14, 2011 Ezekiel would step forth in response to the statement. "Both I and Khronos are ready to take on the duties of King. There were many more candidates before but I was agreed upon- and Khronos, as former seneschal, makes much sense."

Gaius is the type of King I have been hoping for for years. We need a strong arm to lead us now in our dire times. We need a leader who will beat his lazy people into productivity and efficiency. Oren as a whole must be reforged by a master smith, and I fully believe this to be Gaius. We gave Edmund decades and he betrayed us all. We gave Enor decades and he failed us all. Let us give Gaius some time to prove his worth and we shall be thankful for it. I know there are others who are just as qualified for this position, but this is what Oren needs. A leader from without the Kingdom, a leader who will not be afraid to forcefully reform us so that we function, a leader who will not shy away from what needs to be done because they are afraid the people might dislike him. As one of the organizers of the Phoenix Revolution I denounce this claim for continued resistance until such a time that Gaius proves to be an inefficient leader. If such a time comes where he fails us like Enor and Edmund had then I will gladly take up arms once more. But I am doubtful the day will ever happen. Zibaen Vivyaen, High Treasurer in interim. DecoLamb 959 Share Posted December 14, 2011 If you two are so capable of ruling my mothers race, why have we not met? Why have I never once spoken with you? Why have I never heard your names, either in loud proclamations or hushed tones? If you both are truely so deserving of being the metaphorical father of the humans, why do the children not clamor to you? Why is it that my mother spoke of Gaius with such pride in her voice, and not one of you? Why was I taught to seek out the black cross to help me when I need it, and not you? Why is my heart swelling in joy for Gaius, who has proved to be an excellent leader to his group, and not you who... did whatever it was that you did.. erm.. ...who are you two again, exactly? *scratches her head lighty as she ponders

Many know of my family and its doing and its names. That said, if no one's heard of the Seneschal of Oren, then no one has heard of Oren and sees the title King of... that place up North. You're quite silly, I'd say. Gaius is a warrior and conqueror, he's not a King."
