is story is based on The Great Guardian statues of Kal'Urguan I have been postponing it for a while now ever since I built them. I hope you enjoy my story as much as I have written it and bear with my grammer and comment and tell me what you think weather good or bad I will improve it.

Edit: The title and final draft will be added to the book. Also I have another story that is completed if you have not read it yet based on the temple I've completed.

The Story:

Somewhere in the hidden mountains where the mist and clouds past, where a stream of water creates a waterfall. Behind that waterfall deep below lies a city where the pillars stand tall and the halls echo of commotion. Where you can hear the clanging of hammers and picks. In these very halls where songs are heard and feasts are eaten lies the city of Kal'Urguan. In this city two children were brought into this world Balmir and Ulmir. Now twins is a very common thing amongst dwarves but these two dwarven children will have the most unlikely story, but first ill tell you how they grew.

Balmir and Ulmir were born in a common blacksmith family and they learned to forge armor and weapons as well as craft there work with detail. The twin brothers always competed against each other eventually ending up into quite a brawl where the guards will have to break it up. but as brothers they loved one another and will defend one another with their life despite how they annoy each other.

One day when Balmir was crafting armor he asked Ulmir to fetch him coal to fire up the furnace. Ulmir in the process of purchasing the coal, he saw a strange fellow with a hooded cloak hiding behind one of the large pillars in the hall, He than asked one of the guards to check this strange fellow. When the guard approached the hooded fellow (he said "I know you hate the rain as much as all dwarves do but you don't need to wear the hood inside an underground city.")(joke). The hooded fellow started to run and while the fellow was running his cloak was caught by the guard. At this point everyone within the halls looked toward where the guard and the strange fellow was at. They all were surprised to see a green fellow under this hood it was an orc. The guard than immediately interrogated the orc. Ulmir and the others in the hall were frightened as to see an orc. The guard interrogated the orc,but the orc only laughed and in anger the guard slashed the throat of the orc with his axe. The orc was immediately dead.

Now at this time the dwarves and the orcs were at war but the discovery of an orc within the city of Kal'Urguan was unheard of because the city was hidden to other races. Ulmir rushed o Balmir and explained what happened. Within the next hour the dwarves assembled in the circle where the fort stands today but at this time only a foundatiion stands. The dwarves including Balmir and Ulmir discussed what to do with the situation since they knew that if an enemy entered their city than that means that a invasion is about to present itself. The dwarves including the brothers were worried because the king and his army were already in a battle with the orcs somewhere for their return is uncertain at this point. Balmir and Ulmir gathered their finest crafted weapons and armor and gave anything they had to the other citizens. The militia was established. All the common blacksmiths, miners, craftsman, farmers, inn owners, and the guards all gathered ready for what is to come.

The sky was still dark but you can see red light approaching even though Sun did not rise yet. The militia were scared and had no morality and little faith. The brothers Balmir and Ulmir were worried but they were ready for whatever is to come. The large platoon with there spears, swords, axes and torches. They march with there gnawing, moaning, groaning, and roaring as they approach the militia. The militia too stand in a strategic location outside where the path is tight and leads you to the city. Though they have the advantage with the terrain the militia have no morale and little hope. The orcs were almost at the pass and the militia were terrified. The brothers filled with rage that they are about to lose there home they marched ahead a bit where the path was even smaller. The orcs ran up to Balmir and Ulmir but one, two, four... Twenty orcs were being taken down by the twins. The twins with their strength from being blacksmiths swung their hammers and axes at the orcs knocking them down. Since they were twins even though they are not warriors they knew how to fight with one another. The miltia were shocked to see this and they gained some hope at the brothers retreated to them. The battle begun between the militia of dwarves and the platoon of orcs. The sounds you can hear from the axes slashing, hammers smashing, the spears lunging, the swords swinging, and the ground rumbling. The battles went off and on many times everyone tired, it continued through the morning.

As the sun was setting the militia lost many and the orcs still assaulting with their might there was little hope. The twin Balmir and Ulmir whatever little hope they gave to their people was diminished as they continued tired and beaten from fighting so many orcs. The twins realized this was the fate of there people and city so they decided to charge at the enemy with whatever they had to their doom. Until suddenly a glow to the east approached marching closer and closer. It was the King and the army of dwarves. The platoon of orcs retreated from seeing the King's army approaching. The militia and the twins jumped for joy and the city was saved.

Two statues stand now in honor of the twins and the militia made from the citizens of the dwarven people. The statues with the name Great Guardians are a proud reminder of what happened that day and the resilience of the dwarven race.
