Ouity's Last Writing

The end draws near, friends. The Undead draw closer, and the humans of the north are pushed back from their snowy dwelling places to spread chaos and disruption through the other races. We try to help as best we casn, finding space for the refugees in our fots, and the dwarves do same. I fear though that it would have been for naughty for even now the races still bicker and argue, the most trivial joke turning to violence at any moment. The Ascended seem to have chosen to live amongst the Alrasians, despite the protests of the other nations, and be it related or not, their influence decreases greatly in those places of danger like Urgan.

The Undead meanwhile, capture city after city after city, never stooping, always coming. Like a plauge that cannot be cured, a cancer spreading across Aegis, our resistance means naughty, and they brush us aside like dust in the wind. As I write this, I ask myself what we could have done differently. Could this have been avoided? So much needless destruction and violence... perhaps, in the world that comes after this, there will be no more fighting, but peace, where all the races can live in peace...

* Arkelm reads the book and nods to himself with a grim expression. Noticing the partly soggy pages from the snow, he takes a flat rock and lays the book on it.*
