Tristan Uther 0 Share Posted February 2, 2012 Out-Of-Character: Minecraft Account Name: balluffip Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: Sadly, no. How old are you?: 14 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: EST, I live in America. The tristate region. Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I promise I do. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I’m a normal, nerdy teen looking for a roleplaying experience with people who actually commit. I try hard and have played other online MMORPGs and roleplayed on them successfully. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Around ten hours (including weekends) a week. However, that may increase or decrease. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is when someone reenact the life of someone else, whether it be ficitional or non-fictional, in any situation. In other words, it’s when you pretend to be someone else you made up and choose his decisions. In that way, you can do things you would never do in real life and react to different scenarios anyway you want. It’s a way to entertain oneself and have new experiences and challenges. Also, roleplaying is a way for me to go into a fake world and do things that won’t effect the real world. I’ve roleplayed before a bit on minecraft, but mainly a massive amount on Runescape. In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is the art of knowing something your character shouldn’t. For example, you see someone you’ve never met walk up with the gamertag Lulu and you say hello Lulu. Powergaming is when you do something that is comepletely unfair for your character. Such as *balluffip kills the strongest man in the world, kills everyone, and becomes ruler of the world*. However, powergaming mainly occurs when someone doesn’t die when they should have or is able to kill everyone and never lose. What do you expect this server will be like?: Just to see what your server is like, I’ve seen a couple of let’s plays of it and trailers. I have also read most of the wikis. Based on how everyone roleplayed, I expect this server to be a true roleplay server at heart with people playing their characters well. I don’t expect someone to run around shouting, “Lollllllllll!” in a nyan cat skin. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on Midgard, which said it was a semi roleplay server. But I never saw an ounce of people roleplaying. And when I started playing minecraft, I was hoping for roleplaying in a different format. I have also played on minecraftserver.com just to see what it’s like to only build and survive. It got boring after awhile due to the fact it was extremely repeating. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have read, understood and agree to the rules. How did you hear about us?: My friend was applying (ldawg216) and knew I like roleplaying and asked me if I wanted to join. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Yes I did and I was the 388th vote. What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Tristan Uther In-Character: Character Name: Tristan Uther What is your Race?: Human, Male Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Tristan Uther was born in Al’Khazar, Oren in the late 1320’s to a family of carpenters. He was well taught in writing and the trade of carpenters. Tristan has dreams of becoming a carpenter and is nineteen years of age. He exhibits black hair, green eyes, a straggly bear, and a rusty smile. He wears plain clothes guilded with yellow string in an attempt to look wealthier. Tristan appears to have the build of a blacksmith with strong arm muscles and a hard back. He stands straight, proud, and believes to be a fair carpenter in his trade. Lastly, he is one of five boys and was never given much attention and became too independent for anyone’s liking. When Tristan was 16 in the 1340’s, the Pheonix revolution came to pass with some of his brothers joining in. So obviously, his whole family got up and left for Renatus under King Tarus and moved to Galahar, the capital of Renatus in Aegis. There, his father had trouble finding carpenter work and was forced to work in the surrounding farm lands. His brothers and fathers worked on farms while his mother did cooking for a noble family. Since Tristan hated farming, he sought something different. Finally he found a blacksmith who he was able to work under as an apprentice for his remaining time in Galahar and gain the body of a blacksmith. But soon after being an apprentice, his blacksmith was killed while helping a gang and the smith was closed down. And after finding Aegis dieing, he set off to the Verge with his family and pilgrimaged to Asulon on ships. Tristan’s family then joined the Kingdom of Renatus and they helped rebuild it from the ruins of the old Human city, Arethor. Your characters ambitions: Tristan strives for being a carpenter. He strives for that since his father was a carpenter, it’s in his bloodline to be a carpenter, and he just loves making buildings. Although, he attempt s to do other things at random times. However, his main goal of being a famous architect is always in play. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Tristan eyes the bandits, seeing they are quite dangerous. Tristan knows he has no chance of helping the elf and doesn’t even want to in the first place. So he slowly eases his way around, but accidentally steps on a twig. The bandits turn around, see him, and shout, “Hey. Who are you?” . Tristan, understanding he can’t run away, stumbles forward and states, “ I am Stran.” “Well, if you know whats good for you, you’d start walking away and never tell anyone of this situation,” the first bandit replies. “Yes,” says Tristan and he walks away. Although he’s confused why they would only want the elf and not even think of robbing him, he doesn’t care and trots forward back home. Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? “Well, I was wondering if you had any carpenter supplies available,” states Tristan. The (human) shopowner then replies, “Well no, not really. However, there’s lumbermill outside of town and a smith on the otherside of the market.” Tristan says, “Farewell,” as he walks toward the smith. At the smith, he is able to purchase nails, a hammer, a saw, and other tools. After going to the smith, Tristan ventures out of town to the lumbermill. There, he is able to get newly cut wooden planks to bring back to his workshop where he will start up his trade of carpentry. A screenshot of your skin: It will be added on. Other Information: Now that the wiki was updated, I feel safe knowing this is all the right information. Well except for the dates. The 1340’s was correct, but I have no idea what year it is on the server. So could you please excuse my messed up times.
James Undercroft 129 Share Posted February 3, 2012 Accepted Do not worry about the times in your application, as long as they are about right then all is well as I am not too picky about the FINE fine details. I think the calender was reset to year 1 when they all moved to asulon so the dates are all changed now anyway. I loved your RP answers and your biography, well done. :)
