Regar

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Regar was a young man when his father left his mother. They lived in a small mountain village where every man was needed and when one left, it spelled disaster for that family.Since his father left, Regar had to pick up all the slack that was left behind by his father. Plowing the fields, taking care of the horses, and feeding his family, all went to Regar.

As the years went by Regar grew strong. He grew tall and muscled from the plowing of the fields. Having to forge his own horse shoes gave him mighty strength. Having to hunt for his family made him good with the bow. He quickly became a viable option to become the leader of his village when disaster struck. His small village was raided by the Imperial Legion. While only a small portion of a passing army, The village stood no chance against trained men. The men were taken as slaves and the women and children were butchered. Watching his family being killed before him was forever scarred into Regar's mind. Regar had just turned 19.

At the age of 20, After a year of travel, Regar and 3 other men from his village were taken to the outskirts of the Empire and sold to a local slave trader. This man was no normal slave trader though. This man was highly into the gladiatorial games and planned on cashing in on these four souls he had acquired. Regar had an iron will to live and refused to give up. He fought every man they threw at him and destroyed any who thought that they would take him from this life. The slaver quickly realized his luck and brought Reagar to the Capitol, Deleshar, where he would compete in the Colosseum. With a promise of Freedom in his mind, Regar fought with renewed vigor.

3 years of fighting had made Regar tired. He hated it. He wanted nothing more then to be free. Ans then it came. The final bout. His ticket out. Agreeing to this match he had no idea what awaited him. Walking into that crowd on that day, his stomach was in knots when he saw who he was fighting. His father stood across from him with a sneer on his face. The man had left them to become a gladiator and fight for glory. Regar was appalled and angered. He picked up his sword and his shield and rushed his father.

After a heated battle Regar slew his father and claimed his freedom from the emperor himself. Regar left the arena for the first time in 3 long years. Packing his few belongings as quickly as he could so he could get on the road. At 23, Regar thought of traveling the world and settling down to open a tavern somewhere.A handsome man, albeit scarred, Regar was tall, broad shouldered and had an awesome mustache, even after his fights. His dream was to open up a tavern where none would have the need for violence. The Rounded ox... He liked the sound of that. As he walked down the road, into the unknown, his only thought was that he was a free man, And could do whatever he wanted. But as he travelled, he knew that that part of him from the arena, that lust for blood and victory, would be a piece of him that would never leave him. It would always come back, and maybe one day for the better...

Your characters ambitions:

To settle down and open up a tavern.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

He walks forward and interrupts the fight. He tries to fight out the reason for the fight before making action. Perhaps he would help the elf and protect him from the bandits if the elf would provide him with some help later down the road, giving him new connections in life. Most likely, the elf would be safe, as these bandits clearly do not appear to be of noble distinguishment or noble reason to be attacking this elf out in the wilds. They will pay dearly for picking on the weak.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

"I am well thank you. What do you have for sale?"

Courteous and to the point, Regar has no need to be violent but is when necessary. otherwise, He is just a friendly giant, though always wary of his surroundings, in case of any imminent danger possible in the surrounding area.

Although it is a very well written application, there are a few things which require fixing.

You have been denied because:

Both your definitions are too short, and require examples.

Your definition for powergaming while alright, could do with a little improvement such as an example or expansion on your idea.

Your definition of powergaming is a little off, and requires fixing. Luckily for you there are plenty of ways to learn the correct definition. First of all you can look on the lord of the craft wiki and then search for "Powergaming", you can join our Team Speak channel (You can get Team Speak from http://teamspeak.com/?page=downloads ), or you can do a google search.

Your biography needs some lore from the world of asulon.

We would like you to include some lore from the world of Aegis and/or Asulon such as names of towns and people, or even events which have happened before and your characters connection to the event. You can find all about the lore of Lord of the Craft here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page,'>http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page, or in the lore/history sections of the forum and website. The types of lore you can include can people places such as towns and kingdoms, or even people or events (such as the exodus from Aegis to Asulon which affected almost everyone).

Your story is completely fine though, just try to tie in a current town with the gladiator arena and get rid of the "empire" as there is currently not one.

You need to include the entire question when writing your biography such as your characters history, personality, description and age. With the description don’t just write He is tall and old and carries around a bow. There are a lot of tall, old people who carry around bows. Get descriptive; what is your hair colour? How long? Eye colour? Big eyes? Small eyes? Do you have wrinkles? How tall are you? Are you muscled or slim but agile?

Both your RP situation answers need imrpovement.

While it is good that you have thoroughly explained your characters thinking, you need to also write about what your character does.

Please keep in mind that you cannot just write that “I kill the bandits” or “I help the elf”. There must first be some role-play such as talking and some warning before the combat takes place. Be as descriptive as possible when writing about the situation. Include all of the bandits and your actions, as well as all of the speaking that takes place. Instead of writing it like “I would do this, and then this and then the elf would thank me.” Write it like a story so: Zolgash would bellow in an attempt to scare the bandits. “Get away from that elf or you will taste my steel!” The bandits laugh at the orc and turn towards him, but still keeping an eye on the elf. “Ya don’t scare us, green flith.” The bandits charge at Zolgash, meeting steel on steel. See the difference?

You need to write a lot more for the second one. Everyone (and I mean everyone) just writes that they buy something, and leave. What is that? It shows a lack of effort in my opinion. All you have to do is use your imagination, create something innovative, exciting and fun for the reader. There are endless possibilities, for example you could write that the shop keeper is actually a bandit who is luring victims into his shop and then he gets his thug friends to come in from the rear to block your escape, or perhaps the shop keeper tries to cheat you of an item and you respond by calling the guards and something exciting happens. The possibilities are endless; all you have to do is be creative.

Your skin may need changing to match your biography.

Currently your character looks like a kind of butcher or cook, perhaps it would be more fitting to find a skin which matches the kind of character that you have written in your biography? This is not strictly necessary, unless the description of your characters appearance does not match.

Please wait 24 hours or your application will be instantly denied.

This gives you a chance to have a cup of tea and read all of which I have provided, then give you a break and a fresh mind to re-write your application in the required areas. This is also to prevent the spamming of applications, as if there was no limit we would be absolutely swamped with applications.

Please do send a PM my way if you are having any trouble understanding the application process or my feedback, I would be glad to help you. :)

Good luck for your next application!
