Out-Of-Character:

Minecraft Account Name: Hantz

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: No.

How old are you?: 18.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT +1, Denmark.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: My English is decent.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I guess I'm just the average Joe tired of FPS-games and such searching more or less for intellectual challenges in games. I'm not a gamehopper, and I usually keep playing on servers/games for a long time.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:Here at the winter I got a lot time, so I guess more or less 4 hours everyday.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is basicly to assume a role, in this case you imagine a person and act like him. I've been roleplaying for 2 years at a SAMP server called LS-RP. Getting introduced to the roleplaying scene has definitely been one of the best things that happend to me (speaking of games). It takes your gaming/imagination to another level. I don't have anything against sitting braindead infront of the PS3 sunday morning with a hangover shooting down random people on the internet, but in the everydays I need my brain going, and when you are roleplaying there is no limits, you decide the quality and dedication.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming basically means using OOC information IC. Sitting in front of the computer you obviously got some information that your character wouldn't realistically know, so metagaming is just using that information. An example would be seeing a screenshot on the forum showing where a house is and then go IG and rush to it.

Powergaming is abusing the fact that you decide what your characters is doing. This is often doing unrealistic moves, like throwing a person 30 meters into the air or something similar. In most cases you just need common sense to avoid powergaming, because just because you got the 'power' to decide everything doesn't mean its okay, you have to remain realistic to keep a good roleplaying atmosphere.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Serious roleplaying server, friendly people and professional staff.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I haven't really roleplayed on minecraft, only some small-time servers where i was for one day or so.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes.

How did you hear about us?:

LS-RP Forum

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?

"Hantz is not a paid Minecraft account, or Minecraft.net is having issues and we are unable to check your username at this time." I can't vote :( right now. My account is paid though,

Edit: My vote got through! 2,752

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?:

Schantz

In-Character:

Character Name:

Korkir

What is your Race?:

Human.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Thirty years ago a boy named Harald was born in a small village on the county-side. The expectations were high, because of his father’s position in the village as a ‘mayor’. Anakir himself tried to live up to the expectations, but he couldn't take the pressure. He just wanted to be independent and free. He was tired of living in the shadows of his father, he was tired of being the shy boy who always was supposed to remain quite, and couldn't play with the other boys. Harald had an underachieving uncle, who was travelling around just for his own pleasure. Haralds parents always told him that he shouldn't end up like his uncle, but every time Haralds uncle returned to the village with exiting stories about his journeys then Harald couldn't stop dreaming about being like him.

At the age of 17 Harald was ready to begin his journey and leave everything behind, but then his mom dies, and he is unfortunately forced to stay home and take care of her.

The years went on and Harald was using all his time taking care of his mother. For every day that went on he kept thinking “Will I ever get the opportunity to experience anything”. Am I going to die in this unspectacular hole? Hell no. Harald knew that he couldn’t just leave his mother, because the other villagers and his relatives would hunt him down for dishonoring her by leaving her helpless. Harald impulsively kills his mom by suffocating her. It was the only way for Harald… To kill her and make it look like she died of natural causes.

After the funeral Harald leaves the village, leaving everyone behind without even a single note. After travelling for many weeks he reaches a called Greenshire.

Where will this take Harald the inexperienced human? Will he ever reach his goal of personal independence after being in the shadow of his father for his whole life? Will he become the next mayor, and thus leave a mark of his father in himself? Will his naive mind let people scam and bully him around?

Your characters ambitions:

My character wish to establish a new life in Greenshire, he impulsively and open-minded jumped into this without knowing what the result will be, so his ambitions is not clear. He will see where the world will take him.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

My character is curios, but because of his previously unspectacular life, he will just look, unless he clearly is able to help the elf. Considering he haven't been in a serious fight before, he will judge that he can't help. The experiences/challenges he is about to face might change him though.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

Without much money on my pocket I ask him what is cheap, and my character will most likely try to get some information out of him, since he wants to know what is going on around here. He is new on the market and naive, so the shop owner might be able to scam him.

Your application has been:

Denied

Do not worry though; this does not mean you cannot apply again, quite the contrary! After 24 hours you may apply again which gives you plenty of time to fix up your application, plan it out as well as use all of this advice which I have given you in this post to make your application one of the best. Please check the links at the bottom of this post, they will help you quite a bit.

You have been denied because:

Your definition for powergaming is incorrect.

Luckily for you there are plenty of ways to learn the correct definition. First of all you can look on the lord of the craft wiki and then search for "Powergaming", you can join our Team Speak channel (You can get Team Speak from http://teamspeak.com/?page=downloads ), or you can do a google search.

Your biography needs some improvement.

Your biography is too short and needs some expansion. Please include the entire question when writing your biography such as your characters history, personality, description and age. With the description don’t just write He is tall and old and carries around a bow. There are a lot of tall, old people who carry around bows. Get descriptive; what is your hair colour? How long? Eye colour? Big eyes? Small eyes? Do you have wrinkles? How tall are you? Are you muscled or slim but agile?

We would like you to include some lore from the world of Aegis and/or Asulon such as names of towns and people, or even events which have happened before and your characters connection to the event. You can find all about the lore of Lord of the Craft here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page,'>http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page, or in the lore/history sections of the forum and website. The types of lore you can include can people places such as towns and kingdoms, or even people or events (such as the exodus from Aegis to Asulon which affected almost everyone).

both of your answers to the RP situation questions need improvement.

You cannot just write that “I kill the bandits” or “I help the elf”. There must first be some role-play such as talking and some warning before the combat takes place. Be as descriptive as possible when writing about the situation. Include all of the bandits and your actions, as well as all of the speaking that takes place. Instead of writing it like “I would do this, and then this and then the elf would thank me.” Write it like a story so: Zolgash would bellow in an attempt to scare the bandits. “Get away from that elf or you will taste my steel!” The bandits laugh at the orc and turn towards him, but still keeping an eye on the elf. “Ya don’t scare us, green flith.” The bandits charge at Zolgash, meeting steel on steel. See the difference?

You need to write a lot more for the second one. Everyone (and I mean everyone) just writes that they buy something, and leave. What is that? It shows a lack of effort in my opinion. All you have to do is use your imagination, create something innovative, exciting and fun for the reader. There are endless possibilities, for example you could write that the shop keeper is actually a bandit who is luring victims into his shop and then he gets his thug friends to come in from the rear to block your escape, or perhaps the shop keeper tries to cheat you of an item and you respond by calling the guards and something exciting happens. Even if you want nothing interesting to happen at all, be as descriptive as you can about everything that happens in the situation. The possibilities are endless; all you have to do is be creative.

Please wait 24 hours or your application will be instantly denied.

This gives you a chance to have a cup of tea and read all of which I have provided, then give you a break and a fresh mind to re-write your application in the required areas. This is also to prevent the spamming of applications, as if there was no limit we would be absolutely swamped with applications.

Please do send a PM my way if you are having any trouble understanding the application process or my feedback, I would be glad to help you. :)

Good luck for your next application!
