I have not. I've owned Minecraft since Alpha, but haven't truly found a reason to dive deep into the gameplay. This server has caught my eye, though, for sure.

How old are you?:

I am seventeen, going to be eighteen in less than a month.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I like to think I've got a handle on my own language, but as human nature has it, I'm not perfect. Grammar sometimes can be an issue, but otherwise I can hold a good sentence structure.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I've always saw myself as destined to be the geek I am today. Dad was an IBM guy, and naturally I grew up around technology. I've been playing video games since the age of two and a half years old. I've been roleplaying since ten. I see gaming as a way to escape to a place where I can do the impossible; slay dragons, craft amazing items, and become a legend. I usually look at it like this: Would I rather walk the dog? Or engage in swordplay and magical duels? Normally the second wins. ;)

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Anytime after school (8:10am - 3:10pm). I normally work Tuesdays and Thursdays, though. I'm usually 100% free on weekends to game as much as I please, though.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

Roleplaying has always had a place in my heart. It is truly immersing yourself into a different body, a different mindset, and going along with it. Changing accents, behavioral quirks, and simply learning to become a different person is what roleplaying is all about.

I've roleplayed in Paper and Pencil Dungeon and Dragons and I've also roleplayed in Champions Online (a comic book-like MMORPG where you create your own hero.) I've gained a lot of experience from both areas. I've also done mild RPing within Terraria.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Not so sure on Metagaming, but as for Powergaming, that's basically min-maxing. Aka: Trying to ditch all the undesirable traits and only going for the best way to maximize your character's strengths. I try to find a balance in my roleplaying characters. I don't want to be overpowered, but I don't want to be so weak that my character can't even stand his own.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Detailed is the best word that comes to mind. This seems to be the most organized and successful RPing Minecraft server I've ever witnessed. Not to put expectations on the server, but from what I can see I'm hoping it's going to be as good as I think it will be.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have never played on other servers other than simple 2-4 person servers I've hosted for my friends and family to play on. The servers have always been survival mode.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

No griefing, stay in character, no min-maxing, be respectful. I think I've got it :)

How did you hear about us?:

I was simply browsing the Minecraft Forums. Came across this whole project and my jaw dropped.

I have not yet. I believe that I will vote after I've had a chance to experience the server first-hand.

What is your Race?:

Human. I always preferred the less "shinier" races, so to speak. Humans are the least expected to do great deeds, whereas Orcs are seen as strong warriors, Dwarves as brilliant miners, and Elves as magnificient beings of beauty. Humans have none of those. Rather, Humans are the jack of all trades. One thing that they have over the other races, I believe, is spirit. Even through the darkest hours of our days, humans have always shined their dim light, hopeful for victory. For success.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Danieval Falithir was born into a lower-class family. His father was but a simple peasant, a farmer for the wealthier. His mother was known for his medicines, as she assisted many of the nearby inhabitants with their illnesses.

Danieval had been put to work ever since he was born. His father worked him day and night in the fields, plowing and working the land to reap the harvest in time so that they could survive another day in their hard-working lives. Through this work, Danieval has become physically fit. His endurance outmatches most his age and, while no where near the true strength of an Orc, Danieval's strength shined brighter than most others.

Through hunting and living off the land, Danieval has become an excellent marksman and woodsman. He has learned the names of herbs and could name them and their attributes on the spot. Even swordplay is something Danieval knows a good deal about. His father trained him in armed combat, so that Danieval could protect his family just as his father protects Danieval.

The one thing that Danieval has had a hard time grasping is magic. He could never understand such a complex subject, and would much rather have a sword in hand than a spell book.

Besides, magic has scarred Danieval.

One day, as he was hunting in the forests close to his home, Danieval heard an explosion come from behind him. He quickly took off back to his house to find it up in flames. Running inside to witness his mothers dead body that lay on the ground before him, Danieval's father grabs his son and tells him to hide. Danieval has no choice but to listen and hides in the closet. While peeking out through a barely cracked door, he witnesses a hooded man in dark blue robes light his father on fire, charring him to a black and bloody husk on the ground. The hooded man curses to himself and leaves.

Danieval barely escapes the burning house in tears, mourning his parents. He swore on that day that he would stop at nothing to find this hooded sorcerer. And when he did, he would make him pay dearly for the pain he has caused him.

Your characters ambitions:

Finding the hooded sorcerer in dark blue robes trimmed in gold and taking his vengeance upon him for murdering his parents.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Danieval would carefully assess the situation, sneaking behind bushes and trees to get a better view. After confirming that it is an elf being attacked by bandits, Danieval would initiate an ambush. He would let arrows fling and with precision take out the bandits. If for some reason he would miss his mark, he would do his best to hinder the bandits before engaging them in armed combat with a sword. After the bandits are taken care of, he would go to the elf and try to figure out just what happened to cause this.

If for some reason Danieval had to retreat, he would use the woods as an obstacle course, knowing that the bandits would have difficulty following Danieval in an environment he has adapted to so well.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

"I would like to know what stock you have in traveling rations. If you have arrows for sale, I would like to see them as well."

I'm hardly artistic, so I will be borrowing a skin that I hope is acceptable as a RP skin for a Human Ranger-like character.

Do not worry though; this does not mean you cannot apply again, quite the contrary! After 24 hours you may apply again which gives you plenty of time to fix up your application, plan it out as well as use all of this advice which I have given you in this post to make your application one of the best. Please check the links at the bottom of this post, they will help you quite a bit.

You have been denied because:

You have missed the definition of metagaming, and your definition for powergaming is incorrect.

We need you to be able to understand both metagaming and powergaming to be able to play on this server. Luckily for you there are plenty of options to be able to achieve this goal; first of all you can look on the lord of the craft wiki and then search for either "Powergaming" or "Metagaming" (and I say either, because both are on the same page), you can join our Team Speak channel (You can get Team Speak from http://teamspeak.com/?page=downloads ), or you can do a google search.

For your powergaming definition, while this may be true for some MMO's and RPG's, this is a ROLEPLAY server. You need to find a definition for powergaming in a ROLEPLAY environment, and as I suggested in the previous paragraphy, there are numerous ways to find this out.

Your biography needs some work.

While it is a very well written and lovely biography, I feel towards the end it became very cliche. For example, the majority of the people applying to join this server say that they either see their parents get killed before their eyes and swear revenge, or come back and see their mangled bodies. After a while the story gets old; it just does not make sense to have every second person you come across say: I saw my parents die, and I am searching for a socerer/orc/bandits to get my revenge! Try to come up with some origional and unique ideas :)

I would also like you to include some lore in your biography, this shows us that you understand at least partly what you are leaping into (as in the world of Asulon), and it gives you some background elements which the other players can relate to. So for example you say that you were born in a town in the kingdom of _____, and they can say: "Oh! I was born in that kingdom too!"

Your RP situation questions are in need of improvement.

The bandit senario needs quite a bit of improvement. It is not "If this happens, then I would do that, if that happens then I will do this", it is YOU choose what happens. This is an open response question, and we want to see just how good at RPing you really are! :)

I would also like to point out that the rules clearly state you will be banned if you "No-RP" kill, so make sure you have read and understood the rules clearly before you repost your application.

You need to write a lot more for the second one. Everyone (and I mean everyone) just writes that they buy something, and leave. What is that? It shows a lack of effort in my opinion. All you have to do is use your imagination, create something innovative, exciting and fun for the reader. There are endless possibilities, for example you could write that the shop keeper is actually a bandit who is luring victims into his shop and then he gets his thug friends to come in from the rear to block your escape, or perhaps the shop keeper tries to cheat you of an item and you respond by calling the guards and something exciting happens. Even if you want nothing interesting to happen at all, be as descriptive as you can about everything that happens in the situation. The possibilities are endless; all you have to do is be creative.
