Samson Option 9652 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Many players who have personally been involved in my Roleplay-Producing experiences know there is a method to my madness, I am the quirky writer capable of spouting in stimulating roleplay and indulging and well-written Lore, but I do not take kindly to a regimen. Lately, due to College, I have not participated on the server, yet have remained here where I can steadily draw in and out to assist those who ask for the assistance of my hand. Come May, when my Spring Semester is finished, I will be introducing the Subudai into Asulon. A 'nomadic' collective of tribes, I have written great Lore that will be our 'launchpad' vis a vis the Hanseti Origins Lore. Some players have even gotten a taste from Sauros Alanbataar the tremendous Lore that without mistake nor contradiction was well-shaped to fit the Ancient Lore of Aegis and be explicitly beautiful in being just that. The Subudai are not just one tribe, they are a coalition, a collective of (Maximum is probably going to hit 4-5) tribes that each will represent a different 'Orient' Culture. Too much has Lord of the Craft been wallowing in the Western Cultures, quite frankly the Lore is just that of Western World in the Middle Ages, in dispair, tracking the slew of waste along with it, perhaps an introduction and indulgement into 'Orient' Cultures will definitely pique the interests of many an intelligent player and avid learner! During my tenure as Hochmeister of the Teutonic Order, many if not all of the members within learned that I am very studied in history and a very open-minded person. As an American, I've come to crave learning about other cultures and histories, escaping the stereotype that Americans are narrow-minded and blinded by our supposed predisposed superiority... I Kid Somewhat ;) Players of LotC, as Lorewriter and Developer of the Subudai, I would gladly take comments, suggestions, votes, and questions about anything related to the Subudai, what 'Orient Cultures' to be represented, and anything in general that I described here! Let the Polls Fill with thy Ballots oh LotC!
CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Share Posted February 20, 2012 I feel the Japenese and the Mongol based tribes would be wonderful and interesting to RP as well as interact with. I am all for this!
Samson Option 9652 Author Share Posted February 20, 2012 I do want to make these disclaimers, the Cultures represented will not have 'religions' tied with them, just for the sake of everyone having an objective Roleplay to take part of! :D

no longer active 734 Share Posted February 20, 2012 I voted Mongol. Will these tribes be attacking other nations much?
nppeck 601 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Maybe the tribes should have some infighting between each other as historically, many have fought between each other. Each tribe would only be loyalty to their clan leader, who in turn would have to be loyal to the hear warlord. This would create a shifting policial scene in which these tribes would form blocs against each other.
no longer active 734 Share Posted February 20, 2012 That would add some great RP! I tried doing something like that with Dwarven Clans but it didn't work out :(
Samson Option 9652 Author Share Posted February 20, 2012 The Subudai will initially start off peaceful amongst themselves until after a 'certain event' I have planned, the Short Story I write for the Asulon Novella Competition will explain how the tribes will find common ground to mesh together perfectly. What I will say is that each 'Tribe' corresponding with the Culture they correlate to will have a certain 'strength', like Arabs will be concentrated on 'Poetry/Science' so Bards and Alchemists can fit in, Turks/Mongol will be warlike (blacksmiths and Warriors here), Japanese will be very 'honor bound', so on and so forth! nppeck 601 Share Posted February 20, 2012 The chinese counterpart should form the bureaucracy and maybe be the sailors.
no longer active 734 Share Posted February 20, 2012 What will their relations be to other nations?
Samson Option 9652 Author Share Posted February 20, 2012 Entirely up for grabs dependent on the RP, but the Short Story will reveal that Sauros Alanbataar does not in any way want to offend the Hansetians due to them having common ancestry up to the Ancient Inhabitants of Trinskiril, also discussed in the Hanseti Lore in the proper RP Forum. no longer active 734 Share Posted February 20, 2012 And you created them both ;) I assume they will be nomads?
Samson Option 9652 Author Share Posted February 20, 2012 They will begin as Nomads as 'we collect members', after getting to a certain quota of members, we will settle, probably in a oasis or another feasible and capable area. After that, we will send one tribe every so often in intervals to RP as Caravans and trade with select towns, cities, and nations.
nppeck 601 Share Posted February 20, 2012 I'm interested in how the government will work with so many diverse tribes. Perhaps the leader is elected by the tribes?
Samson Option 9652 Author Share Posted February 20, 2012 That can be detailed from reading the Lore thus far, explains 'some of the governmental status' Click Me
