Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:Raiden6X

How old are you?:18

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:Yes.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a very perverse, vulgar, and some would even be right to say insane, individual. I enjoy being the DM of my own tabletop RPG which I designed and wrote, going to parties with friends, and the pleasant company of my woman. I absolutely love telling stories either through narration of another character's life or being the one portraying that character.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:Roughly 30+ hours but that number is subject to change with my employment hours.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:Roleplaying,to me, means simply telling a story through the actions of a character that may or may not hold parallels to myself. It means the conveyance of truly human emotions such as love, hatred, joy, sadness, and despair to anyone who would observe these emotions and be moved by them. It means that whether my character lives, dies, plays a minor role, is the leading hero in the adventure, or is the villain to be vanquished, I am obliged as a thespian, DM, aspiring game designer, and lover of the RPG genre to play my role to the best of my ability.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:2.5 years on YugiohCardMaker forums, 5 months in the Fate Stay Night:New Holy War RP, and 13 years of either playing, or being DM of Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars, Warcraft, or Tabletop RPG's of my own design

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:Meta-Gaming is the utilization of knowledge outside of what is known to a character in order to benefit a character's position in an RP. As a DM I've encountered Meta-Gamers in the past, and quickly learned that they typically lack the ability to carry their role effectively.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:A player (almost always unsatisfied with how "weak" his character is compared to the other players) utilizing Min-Maxing, Out Of Character knowledge, or abilities that are inappropriate for that character to gain some sort of edge over the other players. This is a sadly frequent occurrence in online Roleplays.

What do you expect this server will be like?:I am hoping to find people who are as passionate about storytelling, and the humanities in general, as I am. I am hoping to share laughs and epic adventures with other Roleplayers I'll meet here.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:I've played on the Studio Tumbleweed server and have not left as of now.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:To the best of my ability.

How did you hear about us?:AmazingNoobMan (Alan) told me about this server via Skype.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?:I have not voted.

In-Character:

Character Name:Rilven O'Nall

What Race are you?:Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography :The house of O'Nall had within it, some of the finest interpreter's of God's will. Among these, none were more talented than Gilford O'Nall and Cassandra Lionel. It was long suspected among the other priests and monks that a romance would secretly blossom between the two. And surely enough the sum of their affections was dubbed Rilven. Rilven was taught to interpret the will of the Gods, speak and walk in the ancient way, and fight at any cost against all that stood to destroy this world. In his tender years of life Rilven never questioned that God's will was absolute and perfect. But as he grew older, as battles with the Undead and the exorcism of demons wore on his mind, something began to slowly eat away at his adamant will. The seed of a demon had been planted in Rilven, one that sought to use the bloodline of O'Nall to spread the taint of darkness to the land. Rilven's father noted something amiss with his son and on the day of his 17th birthday, confronted him about the strangeness that had overtaken him. The demon's taint ignited like a fire in Rilven's blood and the boy lashed out at his father, using arts both holy and unholy to strike out with immense strength. In the end Gilford would die by his possessed son's hand, but not before sealing the demon within his son's control by giving it a human name his son could use to call the demon back. The demon would be named Malichon and that name would give Rilven the power to call his demon back into his body. Deeply grieving for the loss of his father, and seeking to purge his body of the demonic taint that haunted him, he would forevermore seek the favor of God, in the hope that someday he can be free to return to his family. Rilven carries a feeling of guilt for the loss of his father but keeps this concealed under the veil of a kindly wandering monk who seeks only to spread the love and message of God. Rilven is always seeking to help others and to be the beacon of light that his father wanted him to be. However, when Malichon's taint becomes too much for Rilven to handle all moral code that Rilven once possessed is overshadowed by the malignant, arrogant, barbaric Malichon's will. Rilven, in his weaker moments, displays a crippling fear of Malichon one day taking over his soul completely. Rilven stands a sturdy six feet and one inch tall with wide shoulders suitable for chopping wood, he has a head of light brown hair and almost cyan colored eyes. He keeps most of his features shrouded in his robe, however.

What is your Character's ambitions?:Rilven seeks to completely purge this world of the influence of Demons and the Undead, to purge Malichon completely from his soul, and to one day atone for the sin of his father's murder.

What is your character’s favorite tool?:a woodcutter's axe.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?:He is a skilled carpenter and a talented exorcist.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):post-38227-0-28754100-1330112886_thumb.p

Other Information about your Character:his mother Cassandra tried to teach him how to hunt with a bow at one point, Rilven demonstrated a decided lack of skill with a bow but still likes to carry one around although the axe is still his favored tool and weapon.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?: Rilven approaches the two armed men, one hand scratching at the back of his head and the other extended in an open-palmed gesture of peace. "In the name of all that is divine please, cease this madness! Generosity is a holy virtue stricken down by soul-staining greed. I do not wish harm to you two but the halfling has done nothing to requite the loss of his wealth by your hands." Rilven again asks that the two men leave the halfling be. He was not a fighter of men, but a slayer of evil and did not wish to see this confrontation end in bloodshed that would have to be atoned for later.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?: Rilven notes the man among the sights of Alras and responds. "Ah, right...I had some gold left and I was hoping to find someone I could purchase some fresh ingredients from. I would also appreciate the location of a place one could lay his head to rest for a night." Rilven quickly remembers his manners. "Oh, forgive me, I am Rilven O'Nall, a wandering monk in the Holy Way, and you would be?"

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:Rilven for an instant is tempted by the thought of a sword of purest gold and fine iron to smelt tools and armor but his father's words resounded in his mind. "Take only what you need from this life son, the rest goes to our creator" Gilford's words ,even now, rang true in the heart of his son. But another, more sinister, voice was whispering in young Rilven's ear. "Come now...surely the one who owns this place has abandoned it...it's fallen to such disrepair...take what is not needed little one." Rilven regained his composure at the demon's temptation. "Away from me Malichon! We will not stain my soul with your greed!" at these words Rilven left the hut to whoever may or may not own it.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?: "Ah, pleased to meet all of you...my name is Rilven, a monk seeking to end whatever remains of the undead and demon's influence in this world..." Rilven's stomach growls loudly reminding him again that his body needed food. "If it is not too much to ask of you, could you spare some food? or ingredients? I seem to have lost my way and food's rather scarce to find in these parts."

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:Rilven approaches the leader of the party, an axe in one hand an bow slung across his back. "Good sir, my name is Rilven O'Nall, monk in the Holy Way, and I have come to assist you in ridding this town of the evil that plagues it." Silently though, Rilven prayed for the souls of the bandits that were soon to meet their fates. Rilven did not delight in the death of man, no matter how evil they may have been considered. They were still the creation of God and though Rilven would help these people by ridding their city of bandits...he wept for the souls of those that would soon meet their creator.

Denied.

You are not allowed to join as an evil character, as what you have described would require a villain application. Also, demons aren't part of the Lord of the Craft lore, daemons are - but you can't be involved with them yet.
