Scheduled Maintenance [3/16/12 - 3/17/12]

Hey Asulon,

As announced earlier this week, we’ll be going offline for some very extensive maintenance on our game server, this will include the update to minecraft 1.2 along with other major fixes. The site, forums, and teamspeak will also be updated during this time.

When this will take place:

• 11:00PM EST [3/16/12] – 2:00PM EST [3/17/12]
  
• 8:00PM PST [3/16/12] – 11:00AM PST [3/17/12]
  
• 10:00PM CST [3/16/12] – 1:00PM CST [3/17/12]
  
• This maintenance will span over approx. 14 hours.
  

What will be unavailable:

• 
  
  
• The minecraft server (login.lordofthecraft.net)
  
• The buycraft server (donation center)
  
• The website/forums will be offline for short periods of time during the maintenance.
  

What will be updated/changed:

• 
  
  
• Minecraft update to 1.2.
  
• Changes to donation page.
  
• Changes to some elements of web/forum layout.
  
• Fixes to lag-spikes in-game
  
• Updates to our 15 custom plugins to support 1.2.
  
• Additional VIP reworks.
  
• Bugfixes across the board on many different aspects.
  

I’ve been playing with the idea of running a temporary scenario based RP server while the maintenance is going on. Basically it’d be completely unrelated to LOTC lore, we’d simply give some background lore to the situation of the world/location you’re in and let you RP it out with the rest of the community. Let us know what you think about this idea!

GOOD IDEA LETS DO EEET! Present day perhaps, and just like the forum rp auv made, where its present day, and lots o' people crash on a desert island, boat destroyed, and we all lost our memories and stuffs.

   Genius idea! I believe this could be a very great opportunity for people to improve role-play, or even have a little fun with old friends. I'd be quite impressed if this happened.

Now that i've actualy read the post, I realy like the sound of this. I just hope it doesn't epicly fail like the last time we had a second server up while maintenance was taking place.

Looking forward to the update/maintenance. I can live without LoTC while this essential matter is taking place. As for the temp. server, I wouldn't mind playing on it when LoTC is offline.
