What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

To me role-playing is taking on the role of a character and acting as they would act based on the situation, completely disregarding your own thoughts and what you would do as a person.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Metagaming is the use of out of character knowledge to advantage your in game character, for example : that you have been told the cords to a secret base and go there first time with no one to lead you or a map to follow.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-gaming is when a person makes his character Op and not letting the other members rp eg *Takes down the bandit and stabs a knife to his throat killing him instantly. that would be power gaming but if a member were to emote that he attempted to take the bandit down it would not.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect this server to be a wonderful place to rp with my friends and have a overall good experience

How did you hear about us?:

I heard about Lord of the craft through 2-3 friends that are allready in the game and they have said that it is a good server to be a part of.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Rupert is 17 years old, he has pale skin and blonde hair. Rupert was born in the city of Alras in Asulon, he was born after the move to aluson after his father and mother met on one of the boats.

Rupert had a nice and peaceful up bringing with his mother and father, at the age of 4 his younger brother, Alan was born. Rupert was so exited to have a younger brother that he could care for and protect just like the hero's did in the bed time story's he was told my his father and mother.

At the age of 8 Rupert father sat him down and asked him what he wanted to do with his life when he grows up, rupert responded with "to be a guard in the army, so i can protect everyone just like the hero's did ".

Ruperts father smiled and accepted that's what he truly wanted to do , after all that all he went on about after his younger brother was born. Just before Rupert's 9th birthday his father brought him a wooden sword and told him " with this you can protect everyone but, you will need to train hard and be big and strong". Rupert happily agreed and so he started his training. Rupert had to chop all the wood so he would build muscle, he also had to do 500 swings with his sword each day. By the age of 12 rupert was still have his mind set on being a guard in the army, so his father decided to speak to the guards to see if they wanted a apprentice to learn the ways. The guards happily accepted. Rupert was thrilled and started as soon as he could. He slowly learnt the way of the guard.

By the age of 15 he had his first real encounter with villains as he was walking home and was beated near to death by 4-5 people that had been arrested a few weeks before for thieving and Rupert and another guard were the ones that dealt with them. Many weeks past and when Rupert finally recovered from his wounds he still had not changed his mind about being a guard even after what happened, although he felt he needed more training so he set off to travel to train.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

Rupert whats the power to protect all that he loves so his ambition is to be stong so he can live a happy life.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Ruperts greatest talent would be his sword skills

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Rupert quickly approaches the two men asking what they whated from the man

The responded with his money or his life

Rupert quickly placed his hand on his sword and said " please leave the halfing be, here is all the minas i have on me"

Rupert pulls out a small bag full of coins and throws it at the mens feet

The men look down and pick up the small bag of coins

They both smile and say thank you before walking away

The halfing thanks rupert and gives him some wheat he had been carrying in thanks.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Hello there sir but do you have any food that you are willing to give away ?

The shop keeper sharply replayed with a Nay

Disappointed Rupert walks out from the shop only to hear the screams of the shop owner

Rupert quickly rushes back towards the shop to find a thieve with his sword pointing towards him

Rupert quickly draws is sword and strikes the thieve's blade hard knocking him back

Rupert points is blade at the thieve sitting on the floor and shouts for someone to get the guard

After the guards had came and dealt with the thieve the shop owner handed Rupert some bread and thanked him for saving his shop.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:3. Rupert would check if anyone were around or if there were any owners of the items if not he would simply take them but if the real owner asked for them back he would quite happily give it back .

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Rupert would introduce him self and ask if they could spare some water or food before leaving and continuing on his travels

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Rupert quickly gathers his things and offers any help he can to protect the people of the town and to help the guard as much as possible in eliminating the threat.

I am very sorry, but your application has been moved to the denied section of the forums. There are numerous reasons for this, all of which I have included in my feedback below this message. In the mean time there is an abundant source of information, stories, guides and other helpful tips to get you on your way to being accepted; all you need to do is look around. I would suggest the lord of the craft wiki and application submissions section of the forums to start off your little quest to make the best application. Good luck!

The reasons that I have denied you are:

Your have used incorrect formatting of the application.

You need to re-copy the application format. Make sure you have copied the text from the white box and not anywhere else. Also make sure that you do not delete anything in [these square brackets] as they are vital to keep the colour, boldness and size of the text. If you are having trouble because your entire application turns out in funny colours, make sure that you are writing your answers on a line underneath the question, as this is a common error and can mess up the formatting of your application.

You have not included much lore from the world of Asulon or the lore you did include contradicts that of Asulon. I recommend that you do a lot of research as to what you race is and how they act, as well as towns and places that you could use in your biography. Do note this is not Skyrim or Lord of the Rings, we have our own universe with our own races. For ideas and lore you can look on the Lord of the Craft wiki (link on the main page), the Role-play or History sections of the forums or better yet; talk to the people themselves. Just join in our Team Speak channel and ask around! We welcome new people :)

You need to complete the entire biography, detailing all your characters history, age, personality and description. We also like to see little role-play quirks such as habits like the constant brushing back of a fringe, or the scratching of an itchy palm.

Every single thing in your application must have a justification. For example:

John’s father taught him swordsman ship and the lay of the land. X BAD

John’s father was a retired swordsman in the Oren military, after the undead attacks and the moving to Asulon he decided it was time that he lay down the sword for more important matters, family. Now days John’s father teaches John the way of the sword, not so that he can join any particular military, but so that he can defend himself for future experiences to come. √GOOD

Your answers to the favourite tool/best skill questions are underdeveloped.

You need to justify why you have chosen the choices you have. It is all well and good that your character can run really fast, or is light on their feet: but why?

Some or all of your answers to the Open Response questions need a lot of improvement.

Instead of describing what your character would do, you need to assume that your character is in the situation and acting as they would in that situation. You need to describe a scene of RP. This means that you cannot write “If this happens, then my character would do that.” As this shows that you are not Roleplaying, you are answering the question from what you think that your character might do. You need to show us that you know who your character is, you know what the situation is and you know how your character is going to react.

This also means that you need to write in full RP. For example:

Josh talks to the shopkeeper, buys a few apples, pays the shop keeper and leaves. X BAD

Josh walks up to the man standing behind the rough oaken market stand. The sounds of a busy market can be heard all around him. An annoying fly buzzes around his head, so he absent-mindedly begins to inefficiently swat it away. “Ah, greetings shopkeeper! I was just browsing your wares.” The shopkeeper nods at Josh and then turns towards another customer to attempt to assist them the way all market shopkeepers must. Suddenly Josh felt a slight tugging sensation on his belt. He was about to brush it off as nothing, perhaps just someone bumping into him until he realised his belt was slightly lighter. He noticed a man beginning to run off in the opposite direction of himself. He glanced down to see that his coin purse was missing. He put two and two together and then shouted at the top of his lungs. “STOP THEIF!”… √ GOOD!
