Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: Thrain_Ironmail

How old are you?: 13

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: +8:00/Western Australia

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I achieved an A in English this term.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I love gaming, I love computer games that my parents allow me to go on. I love reading books and watching Lord Of The Rings. But I obey my parents and I am a kind kid.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 10-12 hours.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is stepping into the shoes of a/the character. It means to act as someone/something else and take on their role. It also means to become the character, maybe act differently than you would normally.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have played games liked Oblivion and I have read lots of books about fantasy. I always imagine myself in those positions and what I would do differently. If it counts at role-playing.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is using out-of-game information to help you, using out-of-role information to help you. For example, the game glitches and you see a cave system, it is against roleplaying if you dig straight down at to the cave. It is against the rules and goes against role-play. It will ruin the experience for everybody else.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Forceful role-play. Forcing someone to do something with out giving them a chance to react. For example, you walk up to someone (In this case Fred) and type *beheads Fred*, it is mean and it ruins the rope-playing experience. You should instead go up to ‘Fred’ and type *Draws sword* or *Challenges Fred to a duel* or *Insults Fred*.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I have never played any Minecraft Role-play and I look forward to the experience. I have been looking for a server with different races/sub-races and The Lord Of The Craft is extremely appealing.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Pitforge, PvP Pitforge, FantasyWars, Ages Of War and and 4 Hunger Game Servers. I still play on them all because I have friends on all of them. They all have different aspects that I enjoy.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I agree with all the rules. I will obey them.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes I will abide all the rules.

How did you hear about us?: I was looking for roleplaying servers on Google and I found my dream server.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: Yes, I have made 3 so far.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): I am a Mountain Dwarf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

One glorious day a young dwarf was born. His Mother, Balyndis Ironmail and his Father, Thorin Ironmail, could not have been prouder of their small, kind and innocent child. Years flew by and Thrain loved helping his parents in their family sheep farm, in the small town of Ironmine. He spent his spare time jumping around and sneaking from place to place. Everyone in Ironmine loved the young dwarf who helped however he could.

One afternoon Thrain was jumping on the barn’s roof when he saw his Father coming home with firewood. Thrain was about to call out when he saw three undead come out behind his Father. Thorin turns around and drops the wood. He draws his hatchet and heroically charges the three undead. A fierce battle ensued of which only one of the undead survives. Thorin’s last words as he notices his son were “Run, run as fast as you can.” Thrain stood up in tears, and then he noticed the whole town was under attack. A fierce explosion shook the earth. He looked to the crater where his house once was. He screamed in grief and shock and then ran, as fast as he could…

Boris was an old dwarf. He was a cook in a dwarven mercenary camp. He sat stirring his pot when something stumbled out of the surrounding forest. The thing looked at him, sighed in relief and fell down. Boris went over to the figure, he realized it was a young dwarf; he turned it over and saw the face of a dwarf who had suffered the horrors of a raid. He picked up the prone form and looked at the dwarf’s face. It was the helpful young dwarf from Ironmine…

Thrain grew up in the mercenary camp for then on. Years flew by. His life became the war against the undead of Aegis. He learnt to use and axe, sword and bow and became the leader of the mercenary band. Then the day of fleeing Aegis came. The undead had taken over most cities of Aegis. The people of Aegis were trapped with no-where to go except over the sea. The fighting was fierce as he and his mercenary group defended some refugees. The refugees ran towards the port cities. The mercenary group was gaining the upper hand when a large group of skeletons appeared on the road. It became a massacre. Dwarves fell left and right. Thrain ordered a retreat but he was the only one to escape. He fled towards the burning cities, boarded one of the remaining ships and sailed to Asulon…

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

“Give us your money you little runt!” yells Ruffian 1

“Yeah” says Ruffian 2

Thrain watches from the forest, seeking a prime moment to intervene.

“But…but…but sirs. It’s all I have and I have a family to go home to” stutters the Halfling.

“We don’t care mate! Give it or you’ll suffer the consequences.” retorts Ruffian 1

Thrain decides to interfere now.

“You two, move away from the Hobbit.” States Thrain as he steps out of the forest, bow drawn.

“Oooooh, it’s a little ugly dwarf to the rescue! Save us please!” mocks Ruffian 2

“It’s a little ugly dwarf with an arrow aimed at your throat” retorts Thrain.

“Let’s get him” yells Ruffian 1 dropping the hobbit to the ground.

“Suit yourselves” says Thrain releasing his arrow. TWANG! Ruffian 2 falls to the ground. Thrain puts his bow away quickly and pulls out his small axe.

The remaining ruffian closed in wielding a broadsword. The blade whooshes through the air at Thrain’s waist. With speed born of fear Thrain drops to the ground, winding himself. The ruffian swings his sword down at Thrain’s body. Thrain rolls quickly out of the way and attempts to attack the ruffian’s legs. The ruffian leaps back only to fall to the ground as Thrain’s axe finally makes contact. Thrain quickly dispatches the ruffian and goes to help the Halfling…

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

"Those wares look amazing sir!” states Thrain, looking quickly over the wares.

“Thankyou sir, is there anything that interests you?” replies the merchant, getting ready to retrieve any wares.

“I’m sorry sir but I have to run. I’m in a rush to get home.” Replies Thrain, looking around to remember the location of the store.

“Goodbye sir” says the merchant.

“Goodbye” replies Thrain.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

“Hmmm… No-one home, some useful materials, I’ll wait for a day or two to see if anyone comes home,” thinks Thrain as he settles down and makes camp nearby. He waits for a couple of days, exploring the countryside. If no-one comes back, he takes the stuff and leaves. If someone does come back he apologizes for camping nearby and leaves.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"K-K-Kind sirs, C-C-Can you give me something to e-e-eat and d-d-drink? I have b-b-been travelling for w-w-weeks in this g-g-god forsaken place” says Thrain, nearly collapsing.

“Yes come over here” replies a Halfling.

“Th-a-nk-yo-u-“ replies Thrain as he collapses.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

“Captain!” yells Thrain from across the town square.

“Yes?” replies the Captain pushing a path through the mumbling, massing crowd.

“I want to join your company to get rid of these accursed bandits,” says Thrain, pushing aside an annoying, eavesdropping young boy aside.

“What do you want in return, gold?, food?, a job?” inquires the Captain.

“Nothing” replies Thrain, hefting his axe. “Just the safety of this town”

“Glad to have you in the group” states the Captain. “Follow me, we have some work to do, starting with organizing these louts” “OK, YOU SAD EXCUSE FOR A TOWN GUARD-“

You've just met the point of acceptance. So - accepted.

Two problems that I'm making you aware of.

  • There ain't such a place as Ironmine.
  • We didn't leave directly from Aegis, we left from the verge.
  • And also - you mentioned nothing about your character being skilled with a bow, but killed someone with it in your ORQ.

However, I am accepting this.
