The Demise of the Innocent

Krahn sighs heavily as the crowd begin to assemble for the Blood moon. He walks up the stairs of the Temple, his heart beating with fury, honour and love. He knows his fate but he does not wish to receive it. As he reaches the top he stands beside the Tlatlanni. The air is wrong, the night is cold. Metztli is angry. It didn't take a genius for Krahn to figure out what was happening. He put his paw firmly near his sword knowing death is coming his way. Shajiir carries the cow up for a sacrifice, Krahn looks into the cows soft eyes and mumbles to himself "We will meet soon.. in the heavens." Shajiir picked up the cow gutting it in half almost instantly. The Tlatlanni begins to talk, and after every word he repeats his heart beats faster and faster. Stuck in a cold abyss.

He stands tall knowing something is un-easying the fellow Moonblade beside him. Krahn gazes to the sky talking to himself once more. "Is this what you want? I can feel it! I can feel it!.. Tell me.. Metztli guide me." A lightning struck the steps before him. Krahn stood back, his goddess Metztli was communicating with him. He knew deep in his heart the moment that would come.

"Metztli is angry".. the Tlatlanni shouted. The moment Krahn's heart stopped, his body was shaking, he couldn't handle it. He wanted to run. Run from the scene that was starting to emerge. "She is angry because of one of us." Krahn sighed, as he held his paw close to his heart, nodding firmly for what was coming. "That Kha' was Dra'Krahn Therkul, a Moonblade who is planning to overthrow me." He listened to the cold words eclipse from the Tlatlanni's lips, his soul already taken away from him. "Seize him." Krahn stood still allowing for Shajiir to hold him still. Krahn would never.. dishonour his nation by running away. He wouldn't dissapoint Metztli on this precious day of hers.

"Overthrow you.. what.. WHAT?!" Krahn burst into rage, he was being lied about in front of his fellow, Kha'. His brother. His mane. His...... son. "METZTLI!" Krahn beckoned to the heavens shouting with the anger that has erupted with inside his soul. He glimpsed to the stairs, noticing a certain Kha' isn't their to see his death. His eyes thicken, he struggles whilst Shajiir holds his arms. TIAZAR YOU TRAI-. He falls to his knees, a blow Shajiir impaled onto the innocent Kha'. The crowd cheared, the crowd stood frozen in shock. It didn't really matter now.. Krahn was in the heavens with his true family.

"Sorry brother" was heard from the whispering lips of Shajiir, as he drew his sword through his chest and out. His body dropped lifelessly and tumbled halfway down the steps. "Ha..za..ri-" Krahn, managed to mutter before his soul left his mortal body. As Krahn's body lay on the steps, they began to turn a crimson red. A lightning struck Krahn's body. Metztli's gift for a honourable sacrifice. His soul was seen leaving his mortal state and rise into the heavens. Slowly his body began to turn to ashes. The crowd left except from, his brother.. Zeriko.

Tiazar sat in the tavern alone, while the

other Kha' went to the sacrafice. All he could hear was the raging storm and the

sound of faint voices. Tiazar winced at the sound of the lightning close by,

breathing heavily, knowing that it was probably Tiazar that sealed Krahn's

fate.

As the wind began to die down, Tiazar could hear the voices more

clearly, sounds of sorrow and anger. His ears flicked up at the sound of his

name, "TIAZAR YOU TRAI-" was the last thing he heard from Krahn.

At

the moment of Krahn's death, Tiazar gained full control over the Therkul pride.

Without Krahn, he had much greater influence and power, and he intended to use

these things in his favor. Without Krahn, Tiazar would make the Therkul pride

great.

Tiazar got up slowly and sighed. He walked over to the temple to

find the body of Krahn and the people gathered there. Tiazar tried to hide it

but.... He had always wanted this, at last he had the chance to make something

of the pride without Krahn getting in the way.

As Zeriko was stood there like a stone in a shaking ocean. Seeing his own brother turning into ashes, he just cannot move. He hated Krahn for bring the 'Ape' but did not expect this to happen so fast. The tells of planning to overthrow the Tlatlanni, he just went plank. A lie told to the great Tlatlanni or the truth that Zeriko cannot see. That day, that shocking day. Zeriko keeps replaying over and over in his mind, as he just stood there.

As everyone leaves, the body on the stairs left without no trace of his brother. He must follow the crowd, an Kha' asked Zeriko but Zeriko was mad, do not want to talk. When everyone in Tavern, he sits quitely staring at his soup he was given.

He tries to eat, try to enjoy himself but he cannot. Lost mother, now brother. Whose next, his nephew, cousins? Zeriko must overcome this, for Metztli, for his pride.

The Palace was quiet now - oh so quiet. Xerdun sat alone on the colourful quilts of his bed, his head held in his hands. He did not deliver the blow, but it was he who had ordered it. Krahn had died because of him. In the heat of the moment it was all too easy for him to make the decision but now, he was having doubts. Krahn's behaviour was out of control, he lacked the respect necessary to hold his position. It was thoughts like these that helped him justify his actions. He took out the human tongue from his belt and began rolling it around in his paw, uncaring of the blood still leaking out of it, staining his silk bedcovers. The human's death was entirely different to Krahn's, it had been more like sport, a game. But the death of one of their own. This was even different to Thel's demise. Thel was a madman, changed by his time in the desert. Xerdun had carried out that punishment personally. Thel's insanity was clear for all to see but the fall of Krahn was different - the Emperor had lied in order to bring about his death.

Was it truly Metztli's will, did she really wish for Krahn to die? What was Metztli's view of the other races and why had she never revealed their existence to her children before. Rising from his bed, the Tlatlanni made his way through the secret passages, into the chamber of Metztli and sat beside her stone, waiting for some kind of divine influence. The stone pulsed with pure energy as it always had. But no sound emitted from it, no sign. With a heavy heart Xerdun returned to his chambers. His dreams were haunted, he saw war and pain. Suffering. But it wasn't this that bothered him. It was Krahn's face, burned into the back of his mind, calling out to him. But what chilled Xerdun was that Krahn was smiling at him.

[[God damn things are getting so heavy around here arent they? I can only imagine what will happen when Miian is found and told that mostly everyone is alive, instead of dead and burnt like Thror made her believe ]]
