Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: Stoned_Knight. (Yes, I apologise for that.)

How old are you?: Turned Sixteen in January.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT +0, United Kingdoms.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I believe I have a good grip on the language, and I can be quite the grammar and language freak when it comes down to it. If I see mistakes whilst I am roleplaying with someone else, I tend to simply send them a message, correcting all of their mistakes. If I do have a mistake throughout this application, it must just be a typo. By the way, I'm British, I use S instead of Z e.g. "Customisation."

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a fun-loving person, I would have thought anyway, I enjoy going out with my friends and this may hinder my activity on fridays and saturdays, otherwise, I am definitely a gamer, and I will play on this server quite a lot. Well, I hope so, if I am allowed entry.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Well, I am not sure if I count the hours on how long I am on the computer, but I am certain it will be over eight hours a week, which is pretty average, since I play World of Warcraft ALL day after college (yes, college is for sixteen and seventeen year olds, here in England. It's University after that.)

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is to put yourself in the mind-set of the character you have created, you must abide the lore, or else that is simply being "bad" (bad roleplayer). To roleplay is to lose yourself in the generated world of the game, and you must build up your own character, who could be completely different than you, or maybe even similar. Once you have created a character, however, you cannot simply change him from human to elf, but you must kill, or get rid of the human you once played and make a new elf. Roleplaying is to, well it says it in the name, to play that role. The role of the character you have made.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I am very experienced in roleplay, still playing on the Argent Dawn (EU) server of World of Warcraft which is mainly for roleplayers, since it is a roleplaying server, I have roleplayed for seven years, for how long the game has come out, and I am an exceptional figure on the server. I have played through a couple of characters, all for one and a half years each, so I know my variety. However, I do like to stick to the plain Human race, since there is more freedom.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming, an act of bringing out-of-character information into in-character, for an example, your friend says your character is an evil mastermind, and he is plotting to kill your family, he tells you this out-of-character, but you instead use that information to tell your family to hide in-character. It is in the name OUT-of-character, you are no longer playing your character, and it is information, simply from the reach of your character ever knowing. When you are in-character, you must play along with how much your character has actually witnessed, IN character.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: To power-game is to FORCE yourself the upper-hand in let's say battle, if you are emoting that you are fighting with a foe, you must ATTEMPT to strike him, you cannot simply strike the man, for he needs a chance to retaliate or avoid the attack. You cannot simply force your man to cut another's head off, for that would kill off their character, and ruin their roleplay. Everything must be an attempt, and we all choose the fate of our characters ourselves, not anybody else.

What do you expect this server will be like?: From my previous application, which was denied, it seems that a high-standard of roleplayers are required in this server. I have now gone into more depth with this application, and I am writing a whole lot more, to spew out all of my knowledge, and not just a fragment, which is what I expected for a mere application, but it seems that even more is required FOR an application. I hope to see immaculate chunks of texts and history from ALL of the players, I will be disappointed otherwise, from the standard that is wanted from the admins, I am sure this will not be a problem. And even if there is a member that has lost their vibe, I shall try to help them with anything they are struggling with, if I am able.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I still regret the server I had been banned from, to this day, for my brother had a hold of my account, (my mother nagging me to allow him to play Minecraft), since he loved the game so much, so there I was, I put my younger brother onto a single-player server, and then I had left the room, he is about twelve, so he knows his way around the computer, he had then logged off of that server and had gone onto my multiplayer, and I had saved RomeCraft onto my list, he apparently tried all of the servers, because after an hour, I was banned from RomeCraft only, which is a roleplaying server, and did not accept griefing, the rest were PvP or Survival severs, and all of my houses in those servers were destroyed! So, that destructive little bugger got me kicked from an awesome roleplaying server. But I have changed my password thus far and bought him an account, so that shan't happen again.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have read the rules in more depth this time, I did not skim it as I went along the lore, which I was finding hard to read, since it is all spewed out all over the page, but it isn't a major issue.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I swear an oath, like I had said last time! They are reasonable and understandable, I cannot see why anybody can't abide by said rules.

How did you hear about us?: Well, I was simply browsing the Internet, like I had put before, and I typed in "Minecraft roleplaying servers," and this was the first suggestion, it must be very well voted and bumped! Kudos, it caught my eye very swiftly!

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: Forsooth, I have; http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/51048-whitelist-application/

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-%E2%96%91%E2%96%92%E2%96%93-the-lord-of-the-craft-%E2%96%93%E2%96%92%E2%96%91-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/): I shall post this application onto the minecraft forum thread, well, I shall try to anyway.

In-Character:

Character Name: Theodore William Archibald

What Race are you?: Human!

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Nay sub-race.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): The woman gazed at the ceiling, exhaling and inhaling deeply, the heating of the house determined by the breath's appearance in the cold morning's air, which had seeped through the battered door. The woman shuddered as her dark locks of hair hindered her sight through her sea-blue irises and pitch-black pupils. The woman's eyes rolled back into her skull as she abruptly screamed out, her legs elevated in the birth position as she was laid down onto a set-up table, the infant child which had now crowned brought immense pain to the lady, whom had gripped tight of her lover's hand, almost snapping a bone from the unexpected strength. And so happened the first birth, and the only birth. The infant lay bloodied in his mother's arms, being titled with a name; "Theodore William Archibald," his mother's deep, emotional eyes met with the infant's own murky green ones, the love and compassion more evident at this point than ever throughout Theodore's life as a toddler, up to a child, and even into his adolescent age.

Despite the nothern farmer family, Theodore was exceptionally educated compared to the others, as he was more determined in his training and learning, he had been home-schooled with what coin his father had, in hopes to raise a child that could bring him benefits, perhaps even a Lord amongst the Northern realms! Theodore was, however, spending most of his time with the wooden blade his father had bought him. An armada of splinters spraying into the furniture every night as his pre-mature voice would yelp, battering the toy against the stone walls. Throughout Theodore's adolescent ages, he would become a nuisance and trouble for the family, whom had stopped caring much for him, hoping for him to leave the house even, at a mere age of sixteen. And Theodore became aware that the evident lack of interest of the child was held by his own parents, he had left a parchment, inked over with a quill, the writing scruffy and still being practiced, the grammar and spelling a little off compared to the "southron" children (southern). The message held a paragraph of writing, which had instructed the parents that Theodore had left home, to live his life elsewhere, the parents were distraught at the news, and the father grabbed his pitchfork and searched all around his homeland, be it through the forests, through other towns and swamps to find his son. His son was no-where to be found, having packed his bags, he made for South.

As Theodore reached adulthood, he made deals with petty thugs, gutter-snipes, roust-a-bouts and general trouble-makers to make a living. Becoming a poor urchin amongst the cobbled streets of Arethor, he pick-pocketed, beat up and mugged women, children and men alike to make a living. Theodore was then able to afford a poorly forged blade, which had made it only worse for the streets at night. Theodore, still to this day, as a twenty year-old man is a criminal waiting to be recruited by the penal system of the guard. (Perhaps that's where it comes in ICly). Or maybe even a life in the cell.

(NOW! Don't judge me for this, because I checked EVERYWHERE for the lore and history, and I did my best, PLEASE, if this has any mistakes, just send me a message, and I shall re-write the lore over to you personally, I really do not want to re-write this whole application over again, it took me some time, see. Or even send me the whole chunk of lore through message, so I can read it up without being confused, clicking everywhere on the website! Do mind that this is still pretty brief!)

What is your Character's ambitions?: Theodore would gaze at the pouch of boon within his grimy, grubby and dirtied hand, a sly grin would crack and be etched to his facial expression as he gets to tossing the pouch around in glee. The woman lay beside him, sobbing into the cobbled path, Theodore would then give a slight nudge with his rotting, ripped leather boot, almost seeing if she's alright before skipping off into the dark alley-ways. Theodore's ambition is to become rich, in any way possible!

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Probably a sword, since it is the only 'tool' he uses for his own benefit.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Theodore is surprisingly skilled with the blade, throughout his training, be it that is tongue has become less and less impressive throughout the years of being accommodated with thugs and thieves, that can barely speak the common language. Theodore uses this skill to his advantage as he robs his victims!

Other Information about your Character: Despite Theodore's hardened and rough lifestyle, he can be very caring to his companions, for example, his recently deceased dog which he had cared for since it was a pup, he was very fond of the animal and would fight for the well-being of the animal, to a certain extent of course, his life is way too precious. Perhaps that is an advantage for when and if he finds love?

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? "Oi lads! Give us a share o'yer loot an' I'll 'elp y'get 'im down!" Theodore would bark out, with a sly smirked etched to his expression, hand on the hilt of his blade. Should the 'warriors' accept his offer, Theodore would stride in arrogantly, used to his sword of job, trying to send a firm kick for the halfling's head, rather brutally too. And with no remorse he would unsheathe his blade from its typical scabbard, and hold it to the halfling's throat, if he had not been brought down already. He would allow the coin to be snatched, he would await his payment, if he is not paid however, he would not act out of fear, he would walk a few yards before yelling out curses and sprinting off!

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Theodore stops to stare at the man for a few unnerving moments, eyeing the man fully, almost as if he is insulted, he then goes to glance at the wares with little interest or intrigue, mainly because he doesn't have the coin to buy anything. "Na' what d'y'have fer a couple o'coppers?" "Tha's a rip-off, I'm never comin' 'ere again!" Theodore would then saunter off in the opposite direction, with his head held high, and his back straight, with an arrogant stride, trying to give off a dominating stance, which wouldn't fail as Theodore is a burly man, from the North and all!

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Theodore snickers and giggles to himself, almost as if he has hit the jack-pot, without word he would unsheathe his trusty blade and charge forth into the hut, pocketing what he can. He would eye the beautiful sword with awe, grasping it by the hilt, a tear would be shed in joy as he would jovially sheathe his own blade and carry the golden blade close to him, almost like an infant child, quickly trying to get away from the hut as soon as possible. "Thank ye'! Thank ye' so much!"

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Me Lords! Me Lords 'elp me please! I'll do whatever y'wan' me ta' do, I jus' need a bit'o'food an' water, will y'grant me tha' me lords? I'll polish y'boots and use whetstone on y'blades!" Theodore would throw himself to his knees and grovel for the attention of the campers, and hope to be fed and watered, his promise staying put as he would help out with any task, should they meet the agreement. Even this thief is a man of his word, and respect when it comes to saving his life! It just proves that Theodore could have been such a better man than he is today.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: " 'Ow much yer offerin'? And how close would ah' be ta' dyin' if I wus to come over an' help?" Now, Theodore would only accept the offer if he was only needed to stand about and bolster the ranks, if there was a real skirmish guaranteed, he would deny the offer quite promptly, after quick contemplation. Despite the beefy and stocky man, whom look quite intimidating, he is not used to a sword-fight to the death, and cherishes his life quite a bit! He does not know what's to come and does not want to risk it. If he is offered a grandiose payment and is assured that it isn't too dangerous, he would go along and swing his blade with precision, and maybe even wildly if he is in too much danger. And if he does come to be in too much danger, he would sprint off in fear, hoping to live another day!
