What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I have thought it over. I was thinking of Roleplaying GAMES instead of Roleplaying. Yes, I have partook in many roleplays, be it on forums or Minecraft. Roleplaying is where a person can create their own story, character, and adventures. Roleplaying is where you can be anyone you want to be. Kind of like acting.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Powergaming is a form of cheating in roleplaying. It is forceful in the way that it claims to be successful, without allowing the other player to partake in his own demise or lack thereof. (Examples include instant kills, flawless escapes, etc.) It is also the act of abusing game mechanics in order to gain an edge. For example, towering. In other words, cheating.

In-Character:

Character Name: Rogrir

What Race are you?: Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Birth and Childhood

Rogrir was born into a poor carpenter's family. With his father long gone and his mother gravely ill, Rogrir did not have parents to guide him through life. Gradually, his mother grew too weak to beg for money and became bedridden, leaving Rogrir to fend for himself. However, he did have one thing going for him. Rogrir was a charmer. He could talk anyone into anything. In fact, he kept himself and his mother well fed by conning aristocrats out of their meals. But life was far from good.

Teens and Early Adulthood

I wouldn't say Rogrir was a handsome bloke, but neither were any other dwarves his age. He slightly taller than the other dwarves, with a tangled mess of dirty orange hair, and a large mouth. Rogrir developed a sense of humour and creativity as conning people out of their meals became a normal routine for him. He even charmed his way into University! Things were looking up for young Rogrir...

Early Adulthood

...Until his mother died. Charming lady, that. Friends with everyone in the neighbourhood. Except no one attended her funeral. All she left the old boy was a knapsack of trinkets and breadcrumbs, and a gilded warhammer. His mother's death made him grow distracted and distant, until he could no longer properly forge weapons or pay attention in school ever again. Ultimately, the board decided to kick him out, branding him a failure and a disgrace to Dwarven society. Rogrir became an aimless wanderer, associating himself with bandits and ne'er do wells.

Now

A jolly drunkard and merchant. Nobody knows why he decided that the wild life wasn't for him, and few question it. Rogrir makes a living selling cheap items, and he's also a mercenary.

What is your Character's ambitions?: To retire rich and famous. No children though. Rogrir hates children.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Knapsack, Gilded Warhammer

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Charm, Sense of humour, Encyclopaedic knowledge of artefacts and other paraphernalia.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb404/Pyhrric/2012-04-16_172130.png

Other Information about your Character: Rogrir bears an impressive amount of strength. He is also a jolly alcoholic who prefers to convince and negotiate rather than kill. He is old and wise, but immature.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Rogrir breaks up the warriors and glares at them. "What business do ye 'ave with this halfling?' he growls. The two guards whimper in response, stating that they were only taking back what the halfling stole. "Is that so?" he asks, turning towards the halfling. "Well. Fallen upon hard times , eh lad? Tell ye whot. I can take ye under my wing! Teach ye a well honest way of life. Ye'd be much better off."

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Rogrir inquires the man to show him his wares. Frowning and clicking his tongue, Rogrir reveals that he is also a merchant, and that the man's prices are terrible. "Expensive and cheap in ALL the wrong places, mate." Rogrir chuckles. Rogrir decides to lecture the man about proper mercantile skills, as it is obvious that the man is inexperienced. Leaving the man to think by himself, Rogrir temporarily leaves Alras. Rogrir returns to Alras several months later and strolls around until he comes across a huge stall, with a long waiting line, and a certain well-dressed man running the stall.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Rogrir's eyes widen. He sniffs the air and looks for footprints in order to make sure that the previous owner has left for good. He then opens his knapsack and stuffs his findings in it, hoping to set up shop and sell them for a cheap price. "Get your gold sword here! Weapon of the gods! None better, few as good! Get your gold sword here!"

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Rogrir replies as if he's not hungry and lost. After gaining the trust of the traders with a cleverly fabricated tale of his adventures, Rogrir works up the nerve to ask for a talk with the camp leader. Surely enough, he gains permission. After a few minutes, the tribe leader announces a grand feast, calling on all the traders to brew their finest ale, and roast their finest meats. Travelling bards catch sight of the festivities and join in, entertaining the traders as everyone stuffed their faces with mutton and pork. Rogrir leads them in song and gluttony as they cheered his name. Rogrir wakes up the next morning surrounded by snoring mounds of men and women. Grabbing his knapsack, Rogrir stuffs it with leftovers scraps of meat and bread. Enough to last him until the next camp. Taking a mug as a souvenir, he fills it up with the last drops of ale and gives a toast to the trading camp as he disappears back into the wild.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Rogrir jumps out of bed. Now, instead of going for his weapon, he grabs a huge mug and a barrel of ale. Kicking down his door and walking outside, he sees the assembly of drowsy and panicked guards standing at the gates. Signalling the town guard to stand down, he hoists the mug onto his back and rolls the barrel out past the town gates, and onto the road. Rogrir chuckles at the nervous crowd of bandits as he pours the ale into the giant mug. Within a couple of hours, the entire group is drunk and jolly, and heading home. Rogrir watches as the bandits stumble off into the night, and hoists the mug onto his back. Giving the guards the thumbs-up, Rogrir hobbles back to the inn and falls fast asleep.
