Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I spend most of my days around my computer either studying or gaming I am very chatty and would help anyone in need .

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Possibly an 3-5 hrs a day? Made up time on weekends so possibly around 7 hours?

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying to me is extremely important in any video game. Just being totally immersed and taking on the role of your character and just doing and feeling what he/she feels is all an act of roleplay. With the freedom of minecraft this is achieved well I believe. It’s also the art of creating your very own adventure right from the start of filling in these apps to get it. It’s all about (IC)as not only does this keep the gaming vibe alight but for others as well that are also roleplaying can be a lot of fun.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I host my own server with a group of friends where we regularly roleplay as a small town in our own made up Kingdom/city. It's actually harder for me to not roleplay in nearly any game, I just find it far more enjoyable immersing myself within the game and believing that if I was in that certain situation what would I do to either come around an obstacle or challenge the quest ahead full on.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Whenever I play any other game then RP games I use Skype or Xbox party to connect with my friends and to help each other out. I believe that Meta-gaming is when you hear information out side of the game i.e. Skype/xbox party and use this to your advantage.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Powergaming is the act of forceful roleplaying and it is against the lore due to the fact that it ruins roleplaying! It is claiming that an action was successful without giving the other player a chance to act or respond in an appropriate manner. For example you can’t go up to someone in the server and say *Draws sword and plummets sword into your chest* as this is not giving the other player a chance to react in this situation it should be more *draws sword at (Player Name) in an aggressive manner* then wait for the other players response could be *Runs away* or *Also draws sword* also powergaming could consist of impossible task like *(PlayerName) Feats of 10 Dragons with a wooden sword* this is more down to the player wanting to make their character sound perfect and to not have many flaws.

What do you expect this server will be like?: From what I've heard, the largest and greatest RP minecraft server there is. The large amount of people I believe will make the world more full of life and believable. The fantasy setting is also an interesting and classic theme.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have and still play on my own server with friends. Other than that I've played on a few servers, another server I played on was Youtubers Flabaliki and Bluexephos servers. These both are community servers so I can easily speak to people in character.

Character Name: Raylof Grindal

What Race are you?: Human

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Born in the small town, Raylof was an adventurer, until he took a sword (NOT ARROW) to the chest. This was a tragic moment to Raylof as he knew his fighting days where over… So he thought. Every day he would greet the village folk as he walked to the training ground to gain on his sword mastery and at noon would go to the local inn for a pint of what he fancied this was a daily routine and soon everyone in the village knew him. Raylof Had brown hair with a well know flick above his left eye and a short beard he would wear his black combat gear everyday as he always cleaned it to keep his standards. As the word spread of raylof’s skills one day he got a very special visit… This visit was no other than the king of the great city, he said to Raylof he was intrigue with his expertise and told him if he could fend off 5 of his men he would have a role for him in his kingdom, Raylof had nothing but a wooden sword but the guards had iron, but raylof could see a flaw that flaw you ask? The guards were terrible fighter Raylof struck each to mercy before the king. Next the king ask that one question any fighter would want to hear “Do you want to come and be the great knight Raylof in my kingdom and fight by my side?” and from know where the king heard NO! by this time the village had gathered around forming a circle the king looked around at the crowd as they thought it was a heckle but No in fact Raylof had turn down the offer. The king asked why this was and raylof replied these are my people to them I and more than a knight I am there hope for the future how wrong he was.

The next week after this meeting the city had come under attack by the undead and the last to hear was raylof as he was told the king was nothing more than a walking corpse Raylof was furious that he did not take the offer as he could of helped, This turn into a horrible thing for Raylof as each day he would stay in his house yes not his daily routine until one day something click he heard rumours of a beautiful land and how people can start new life’s and new routines so the next day he set off to find this beauty he walk for days and days on end until he stood there staring at the temple his hope and passion for swordsmanship had been restored but from hear he had a long way to go to become a worthy fighter. (Sorry it’s a bit more than 2 paragraphs got a bit carried away)

What is your Character's ambitions: Raylof after being distorted by the kings death thinks that he needs to help the nest new king whom that might be. He wants to serve in the king’s great army. Fighting of any undead.

What is your character’s favourite tool? (Sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc.): Raylof enjoys the use of the blade (sword).

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Time spent alone has proven useful as Raylof would often practice sword fighting with a dummy he handcrafted. Apart from that Raylof would always get the job done.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small Halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Raylof would draw his blade and answer humbly to the two warriors. A few threats would probably be exchanged and raylof would comment on how pathetic the warriors were. The result would probably be a sword fight and as we know Raylof can fight. So he would give the two warriors a last chance to walk away and leave the Halfling and if so no problem but if they didn’t then raylof would have to do the right thing a stop the wretched people. He would not kill them just hurt them enough so they knew they were in the wrong he would possibly slice there leg or fighting arm to disable them from battle for a long time.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Raylof would stop and reply in a nice way “Good day to you to kind sir, what do you have for me to look at”. If nothing is needed, a simple "hmmm nothing for me thanks." and then he would continue passing on. But then again if the store keeper was persuasive raylof would be very intrude as he is always looking for a bargin to keep him happy so he would step back in front of the stall and ask to see the best that the store keeper has. Raylof would try and haggle the seller to get money of his purchase unless raylof had the right amount.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Survival is necessary and depending on how well off Raylof was going, he would take as many resources as he needed. Anything spare could always be sold to a shop at a nearby town. It’s not stealing if “Abandoned” and if raylof saw anyone in need around the area of the shelter he would help them by either asking them to come for shelter or telling them the right way if they were lost raylof would only take what’s necessary to him he wouldn’t rampage the place taking everything only the stuff that he thinks he would need.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, and how do you respond? I would tell them my current situation and ask if I could stay for as long as I needed. When ready I would ask to trade what I had for some resources, otherwise I'd see if I could travel with them until they reached a nearby town. Raylof would also ask if he could stay with then for a bit to learn their language to help raylofs knowledge of the land as raylof wants to be able to speak with everyone in their own way and not offend them he would get to know all of them as it is better to have friends then enemies and wouldn’t break the rules of their camp as he does not want to upset anyone.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offers their support. How does your character act on this information?: Raylof would straight away accept to help out. The threat of bandits should be no problem with the aid of the town guard. Raylof being the fighter he is would come up with a cunning plan to help the town guard eliminate these horrible bandits this would consist of flanking the enemy so when they attack the bandits would not know which direction the guards came from, Raylof would also ask to lead the guards into battle as he wanted to be first to slice a bandit and to aid the fighting guards in the road when the fight is over raylof would let the guards take care of the dead or injured bandits to disperse of in their own way.

I am very sorry, but your application has been moved to the denied section of the forums. There are numerous reasons for this, all of which I have included in my feedback below this message. In the mean time there is an abundant source of information, stories, guides and other helpful tips to get you on your way to being accepted; all you need to do is look around. I would suggest the lord of the craft wiki and application submissions section of the forums to start off your little quest to make the best application. Good luck!

The reasons that I have denied you are:

Your have used incorrect formatting of the application.

You need to re-copy the application format. Make sure you have copied the text from the white box and not anywhere else. Also make sure that you do not delete anything in [these square brackets] as they are vital to keep the colour, boldness and size of the text. If you are having trouble because your entire application turns out in funny colours, make sure that you are writing your answers on a line underneath the question, as this is a common error and can mess up the formatting of your application.

Your biography has a lot of errors.

Your biography contains powergaming. In the context of your biography this can be anything from encountering an enemy and just beating it without explaining how, or just defeating it unrealistically.

You have not included any (or much) lore from the world of Asulon or the lore you did include contradicts that of Asulon. I recommend that you do a lot of research as to what you race is and how they act, as well as towns and places that you could use in your biography. I would also like to note that the entire server escaped from Aegis about 25 in game years ago to move to Asulon, I suggest you do some research on this point. Do note this is not Skyrim or Lord of the Rings, we have our own universe with our own races. For ideas and lore you can look on the Lord of the Craft wiki (link on the main page), the Role-play or History sections of the forums or better yet; talk to the people themselves. Just join in our Team Speak channel and ask around! We welcome new people :)

You need to complete the entire biography, detailing all your characters history, age, personality and description. We also like to see little role-play quirks such as habits like the constant brushing back of a fringe, or the scratching of an itchy palm.

Every single thing in your application must have a justification. For example:

John’s father taught him swordsman ship and the lay of the land. X BAD

John’s father was a retired swordsman in the Oren military, after the undead attacks and the moving to Asulon he decided it was time that he lay down the sword for more important matters, family. Now days John’s father teaches John the way of the sword, not so that he can join any particular military, but so that he can defend himself for future experiences to come. √GOOD

Currently your character is by far too powerful, or too perfect. I believe that reading this guide would benefit you greatly:

How to avoid roleplaying as a terrible character.

There are no more undead. They were all trapped on the previous continent (Aegis) where everyone escaped from around 25 years previous. You will need to research this if you want your character to be older than 25.

Your ambitions are underdeveloped.

You need to show some advanced thought processes. What would your character like to do in the near and distant futures? What is your character planning? You also need to justify your decisions. Why does your character want to do this? Things such as planning to kill all bandits, orcs, humans etc. are unacceptable ambitions as this would require a villainous activity.

Your answers to the favourite tool/best skill questions are underdeveloped.

You need to justify why you have chosen the choices you have. It is all well and good that your character can run really fast, or is light on their feet; but why?

You need to embed the screenshot of your skin.

For me to accept you I must be able to view your skin as I need to judge whether it is acceptable for this server, reason being if someone joins this server, but do not show their skin but they have a Tron skin on I would be in big trouble, but for me to be able to view your skin it must also be embedded. The reason your skin needs to be embedded is because recently people have been linking some dangerous websites to where the image of their skin has been hosted. To avoid this we request that the image is directly linked to this website either as an upload or being embedded into the post itself. You can do this by following this tutorial:

1. Go in-game and press the “F5” button TWICE. (Not once as this will show the back of your character)

2. Take a screen shot by pressing the "PrntScr" button on a windows computer or press F2 on the keyboard, then go to start => Run and type in this: %appdata%/.minecraft/screenshots

3. Find the screenshot and open it in an image manipulation program such as Paint or Gimp.

4. Crop the image so that only the area close to your skin (including the skin) remains.

5. Save the file and go to tinypic.com

6. Upload the file

7. Click ONCE on the text box underneath: "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards"

8. Right click and copy the entire text

9. Paste in your new application

Some or all of your answers to the Open Response questions need a lot of improvement.

Instead of describing what your character would do, you need to assume that your character is in the situation and acting as they would in that situation. You need to describe a scene of RP. This means that you cannot write “If this happens, then my character would do that.” As this shows that you are not Roleplaying, you are answering the question from what you think that your character might do. You need to show us that you know who your character is, you know what the situation is and you know how your character is going to react.

This also means that you need to write in full RP. For example:

Josh talks to the shopkeeper, buys a few apples, pays the shop keeper and leaves. X BAD

Josh walks up to the man standing behind the rough oaken market stand. The sounds of a busy market can be heard all around him. An annoying fly buzzes around his head, so he absent-mindedly begins to inefficiently swat it away. “Ah, greetings shopkeeper! I was just browsing your wares.” The shopkeeper nods at Josh and then turns towards another customer to attempt to assist them the way all market shopkeepers must. Suddenly Josh felt a slight tugging sensation on his belt. He was about to brush it off as nothing, perhaps just someone bumping into him until he realised his belt was slightly lighter. He noticed a man beginning to run off in the opposite direction of himself. He glanced down to see that his coin purse was missing. He put two and two together and then shouted at the top of his lungs. “STOP THEIF!”… √ GOOD!

We expect that you write in full RP and that you write a full paragraph or more for each question.

You powergamed and godmodded. One does not simply kill bandits. You need to write some REALISTIC rp. Chances are these bandits will kill YOU/knock YOU unconscious. Bandits are players and are very powerful characters. If you are by yourself in-game and you try to just kill bandits you will be banned for no-rp killing (read the rules) or at the very least completely destroyed by the bandits whom have had a lot of combat experience since they are BANDITS. We encourage RP pvp on this server, which means each party will demonstrate their actions through emotes. When responding to this situation you need to write DETAILED and DESCRIPTIVE responses. This means no "slices through the bandits neck" but write what your character aimed for, how much force he put in, what weapon he was using, how the bandits responded, what tools they are using, how they used them, how they blocked/parried/dodged, their skills and abilities. You have so much to write, this is what we expect of you.

This is the BEST roleplaying minecrat server and as such you need to be on par with the rest of the server in terms of RP skill. Those who display sub-standard RP skills should not be allowed onto the server lest they make everyone else's minecraft experience bad.
