Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I've always felt that my English and grammar have been rather good. I do hate when I come across the common errors (i.e. their, they're, there) but I'm not the kind of person to correct you outright.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I currently reside in Western New York where I work as a phone technician for Verizon. It's not the most exciting job I've held but it does pay the bills. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my wife and friends, brewing home-made beer, and occasionally escaping in a good old pen and paper RPG (Pathfinder, D&D, Shadowrun).

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: During the week I could be on the server anywhere between 1-2 hours a day or longer on the weekends.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying to me is creating a character that you bring to life and completely lose yourself in. When you know that character inside and out it becomes an extension of yourself and you can act like them on the drop of a hat. Once established with that character you hope that you can build some great and memorable moments while interacting with other players and their characters. I have memories to this day from roleplaying that I can recall and it's almost like I was really there.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: As I've mentioned in my description of myself I like to play a wide variety of pencil and paper RPG's. I started playing about 11 years ago with D&D then eventually wanted to branch out and try different genres. I've played Shadowrun, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Pathfinder, Nemesis, Star Wars and Warhammer. I've run games as a game master as well as played countless types of characters.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming takes the fun out of the whole experience. It's when a player decides that their infinite knowledge of the game world some how resides in their characters head even though that character may have never been exposed to such things in their lifetime. It's something I don't tolerate when running games.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is when a player will tweak their characters with stats and items to be nearly flawless. It's very boring not having a weakness and being able to do everything with out the aid of other players.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect to be able to roleplay with people who would love nothing more than to develop stories with our characters. There are so many online games that I've tried that say they are RP enforced only to find that most people still don't take it seriously. I don't mean to be a stickler but if we are there to roleplay please stay in character and please follow the story as it unfolds.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: This is my first attempt at roleplaying in minecraft. I purchased the game because I heard a lot about it. After building a lot of cool things alone I realized there could be a lot more potential when playing with other people. I'm really excited to get into the world and to become a part of it.

Character Name: Tycas Savatt

What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): None

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): At 6 foot even, Tycas, is among the taller of his family members. His light-brown wavy hair complements the emerald shine of his kind eyes. No stranger to a hard days work he's become quite strong while working the fields with his father and brothers.

His family hailed from Al'Khazar before the Destruction of Aegis; when Oren was in it's glory and the people were happy. During the undead blight they fled their native land to seek shelter from the coming onslaught. Eventually they crossed into the Verge and found a new home in Asulon, in the kingdom of Salvus.

The Savatt family has a long running tradition of farming, and they are good at what they do. Tycas, age 24 and eldest of four, has helped his father in the fields since he could walk. He was conditioned to take over the family's plot of land and he was content to help keep the farm going. When he was 23 Tycas met a kind, raven-haired girl, named Aless. They courted for a short time before Tycas asked her hand in marriage. Set to wed several weeks before his 24th birthday Aless suddenly fell ill with a rare and violent case of ki'katta. The local healer tried her best to save Tycas' bride to be but she was taken from him, leaving Tycas with an empty hole in his heart. Several weeks passed. Tycas tried to escape the sorrow that haunted him but the kindness left his eyes and he felt as though his world was over.

While Tycas was in town one day for supplies a traveling merchant stopped by the market to trade. Tycas couldn't help but over hear the merchant speaking of his travels and all the wonders of Asulon he had witnessed. Without hesitation and completely against his obligations to his family Tycas asked the merchant to take him when he left. The merchant, who's name was Nesbin, refused. He told Tycas he traveled alone and didn't see need for Tycas to accompany him, he felt he would slow him down. Tycas offered the merchant all the minas he had for supplies and told him he would serve as his guard. Nesbin counted the minas, weighed the notion in his head, and agreed to let Tycas join him, only till he reached the next town, but he was leaving at once. Tycas, with nothing more than the clothes on his back followed Nesbin into the world, hoping to find whatever it was that would fill the void he felt in his heart.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Tycas is searching for a new meaning to his life. After losing his love Aless he doesn't feel the same passion about staying with his family and working to keep the farm up. He's learned how to barter from traveling with Nesbin and is trying to build a little wealth for himself.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Tycas is good with a shovel and a hoe. His years experience as a farmer has given him great insight on how to use these tools to their best capacity, even as self defense.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Tycas' most skilled talent is his ability to grow any crop in any kind of soil. He takes pride in using his green thumb to bring new life to the land.

Other Information about your Character: Tycas has a horrible fear of water. He almost drowned when swimming with his brothers one summer. Since then he hasn't stepped foot in a river or pond. When crossing on a ship from the Verge to Asulon his father had to drug him with herbs so that he would relax and dose off.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Being the eldest brother of four Tycas would sympathize with the halfling and offer his assistance. He may not have much skill in swordplay but Tycas does have quite a bit of strength. He would try to reason with the warriors to leave the halfling alone, and if that failed he would try his best to fight them off.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Traveling with Nesbin the merchant for a short period of time paid off. Tycas learned a few things about bartering by listening and watching the old merchant. He would examine the wares for sale find the item that could be turned around for the most profit and try to haggle with the merchant into getting a great deal. Tycas may not be a full-fledged merchant but he knows how to secure some minas to get his next meal.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Tycas would most likely wait a while to see if the small hut was truly abandoned. He's an opportunist, not a thief. If the hut was undisturbed after some time he would take the iron bars and gold sword, most likely selling them or trading them in town.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Tycas would respond in the common tongue asking for shelter and food. He would offer any assistance he could when he was back to his full strength; even offering to stay around the camp and help with daily chores until his debt was paid.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: This would be a double opportunity for Tycas. His big brother instinct to protect the helpless villagers fueled by the opportunity to gain some wealth would lead him into battle alongside the guard. He may not be the best with a sword but his moral compass wouldn't let him sit idly by when he could offer his assistance. Plus, the extra minas is always helpful.

This app is extremely good, I enjoyed your writing style, but there are a few things that hold you up...

It was more related to the RPG style of metagaming. You have to remember that this is an RP server, not an RPG. Minecraft is not really an RPG, and we employ new rules in this RP server regarding metagaming and powergaming that you will have to find out on the wiki or an teamspeak.
