Nearing the end of Asulon, a note was sent to Gulroid Goldhand. Inside of the note, a letter and a small object could be felt. The note was closed, holding a seal which depicts a serpent, shaping an 'S'. The envellope reads:

"To the Goldhand clan."

As the note is opened, it's insides are revealed. A letter is found, together with a small sealed vial. Inside of the vial lays a green liquid, strangely glowing. Alas, the letter is read.

My dear Goldhands.

It feels good to speak to you again, be it in person or by letter. I've sent this letter to inform you of my current state, and to clarify our past. I dearly ask you, to read this entire letter word by word, as it is of most importance to me that you do.

I am currently on a ship, on my way with my kin, the Mali'aheral. I am healthy, and even though you might not care, I felt it was necessary to inform you of this. Now to get to more serious business.

When you left Alras, Queen Kyral and I discussed her plans for it. And it would have been great. Yet fate has shown Alras was not to exist. Kal'Alras was, and after my rather unpleasant shout at the Goldhand meeting, I regret saying you should have never come to Alras. You did well. Aeven, did well. I have now also understood, that Aeven has informed you of me, disliking the clan. This, however, is untrue and of great disturbance. Aeven has turned mad, and left me before I could tell him what I should have told him.

Within this note you shall also have found a vial. Said vial holds a liquid I have recently discovered, it's purposes are still unknown to me. All I know is, it holds great value, and I have decided to share some of it, with the ones that brought me into the state I am today.

I hope, in another land, our paths may cross again. Until that day...

Before the end of Asulon, Gulroid can be seen in his office reading a carefully crafted note. He sits slouched in his chair, the weight of the world seemingly on his shoulders. On his desk sits a note, clearly carefully written. The edges of the parchment are wrinkled now and the seal broken. In his left hand, Gulroid's fingers twirl a small vial. His good eye is captivated by the eerie green glow. Clenching his fist around the bottle he casts his eyes once again on the letter before him.

When he first saw the letter Gulroid had intended to burn it without reading it. His last encounter with a certain high elf had ended poorly. But something made Gulroid break the seal and open the letter. He'd nearly dropped the vial on the hard stone floor when he opened the parchment. The vial itself was captivating. The liquid was glowing. Thoughts ran through his head about smashing the vial or drinking it just to see the effects. It would be a poor way to go though, if the potion actually turned out to be a poison. Instead Gulroid quietly pocketed the vial. One hand reached out and grasped the note, crumpling it up as he carried it over to the fire. Casting it into the flames, Gulroid felt the surge of heat as the parchment caught fire.

Watching the last of the parchment turn to ash, Gulroid mumbled to himself: "Until we meet again..."

*A quiet ceremony is held in the Goldhand fortress. Only two Dwarves are in attendance: a clan leader and an honored clan-mate. As the ceremony ends and the Dwarves leave the sacred chamber both a clan leader and a clan-mate depart. The roles however have been reversed, and a new Dwarf now leads the clan along the path to glory*
