wbrianw8 0 Share Posted April 26, 2012 Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name:wbrianw8 How old are you?:I'm 13 years old, but I am very mature. Time-Zone/Country of Residence:I live in the United States of America, and my time zone is EST (Eastern Time, UTC - 5:00) Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:I know the English language well and have a decent understanding of grammar. I am not the best at spelling. Also I tend to write run on sentences. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:I'm a normal kid who really enjoys Minecraft. I'm mature and do activity outside of Minecraft. I am a decently bright kid (straight A's for my entire life) and I really want to learn different programming languages. Also I can’t stand people who like Apple’s (the company), Android is much better than iOS and Windows is much more practical than Lion OS X or whatever name they call it now. How much time could you be on the server weekly?:My time on the server may vary. During the week homework limits me I might be able to get on for 1 hour (a day) from Monday thru Thursday and more time on the weekends. Depending on how much I like the server I may be on for more or less time. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:Give a definition of what it means to you: RP is when you act as a character, your role. RP usually includes multiple people whom all are playing different roles. RP is close to acting, but you have to create the lines you say and they have to be what your character would do or say. If you are a mass murder you can’t stop and help some little bunny cross the street since it doesn’t fit your character’s role. In LOTC you play the role of the character you chose and act in game as the character that you create in this post. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:?: I've played on two other RP servers. They were relatively small especially compared to this one. I was able to RP for a little bit, but then I would find myself alone with no one to RP with. That made me quit. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:Metagaming is when you use something from the real world to affect your decisions in-game. An example is if you get into a fight with a friend outside of Minecraft and then you blow his house up using TNT. Also metagaming can be if you are told something in game or in real life like the coordinates to a base or if a nation is at war, you can’t know that in-game in till you character finds out by being told (about the war) of wandering in a general direction and using landmarks to find it. The last type of metagaming I know of is when you use info you found from commands, forum posts, ect. and use that info as your character. This can be if you use a command to find out a person’s name or race and then you address them by that before you ever met or were introduced. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:Powergaming is when you are RP you make it impossible for someone to do something like attack you, which would give you the upper hand. An example would be if you are in an argument with someone, and then you are going to PvP. If you were powergaming then you would make it impossible for the other person to attack, so you would pin them to the ground and break there spine immobilizing them. Another type of powergaming is when you do something (not RP) to level up stats. What do you expect this server will be like?:I expect this server to be a fun place where I can role-play in Minecraft. I'm expecting many players, all the time, making it more interesting to play and provide many situations to RP. The only concern I have is the lag. Since there are many people on I’m afraid there might be lots of lag. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:I've played on several servers before including two RP servers, but they were smaller and no one was close enough to let me RP. The main server I play(ed) on is Chaotic Uniformity, I occasionally take breaks and they can range from a couple months to a year. It is a hardcore PvP server so in LOTC I'm looking for some PvP, but not too much. The main reason I left that server was because the PvP was interfering with me playing and interacting with other players. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:Yes I've read all the rules, I wouldn't want to use all this time on 4 apps if I didn't. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:Yes, if there are any modifications to the rules please let me know. How did you hear about us?:I've heard about you from Minestatus and the Minecraft Forums (No player reference). Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:I have made three previous application and I'm again fixing this one by covering all the problems found in the past 3 denials. To see my third app click here. Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. Click Here to view In-Character: Character Name:Elvaldur What Race are you?:I'm an elf What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): I'm a high elf.(possess high potential in magic and is very wise. Other traits can be found the deeper you look. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Elvaldur is young for an elf at 21 years old; he has dark blue eyes and a larger build for an elf. He wears green, white, and brown robes. Like other elves he has pointed ears. His hair is darker brown, a rare trait among elves. When Elvaldur was born both of his parents had passed away. Due to this Elvaldur was raised by the elders in his small village. Now I’m going to have Elvaldur tell the story. When I was young, both of my parents died within the first few weeks I was alive. My mother had died while giving birth to me and no one is sure what happened to my father, he just disappeared. I was forced to live with the elders of my small village. They were good to me and taught me how to speak many tongues, including Elven, which I didn’t know was outlawed in till I met other elves whom were far away from where I lived. Once I became 10 years of age I was sent to school. At school I was an outcast; all the other students knew each other and I had yet to meet one since the elders never let me talk to anyone who was not high in rank. After my first week of school, I became frustrated. I requested a private tutor. The elders found the person best fitted to become my tutor in a very noble village not too far away. He was a very wise man. I had many tutoring sessions and had lots of spare time when I was not in class. I always liked bows and took advantage of my extra time by practicing different combat skills. I spent about 75% of my free time at the archery range practicing my shot. Even though I was skilled with a bow I wanted to be able to kill the monsters that surrounded our village quicker and easier. One day when I was exploring the elders’ private library and I found a book about magic. From then on I knew how I was going to become more powerful. I read through the book on protective magic over and over. Sadly there was only one spell in the entire book, but it enabled me to protect an object. I began to watch the elders use the spell on various objects. After using their technique I was able to use the spell on my bow. It wore off after a few seconds, so I gave up on that spell. The temptation to use magic for combat was becoming too strong and I told the elders that I wanted to leave the village to see if I could find my father. Even though it was a lie the elders fell for it. To make sure I was safe on my journey they gave me my own bow. Most elfs’ didn’t receive bows in my village unless they became hunters so it was a huge honor for me. The next day I gathered my supplies and ventured away from the village to learn more about magic. I went to the nearby village from where my tutor came from and began to explore it. I found a library near the northern edge of the village. I knew I had to be sneaky and I made a plan to see what books they had there on magic. That night I set my plan into action, I entered the village after hiding in a small hole I carved out of a tree. I quietly dashed to the library. Once inside I snuck over to the restricted section and hopped the small gate they had as a blockade. Once inside I tried my best to be quiet, but I’m not the best at that. I knocked down several books, a lamp, and even walked into the wall many times. I became more serious and moved over towards the shelves. I pulled a redstone torch from my sack and used it to illuminate the bindings of the books. Quickly I looked through all the books, finally I found one on attack magic written by a high elf thousands of years ago. I then hastily ran back out into the wilderness. I ran all the way back to the tree and fell asleep inside of it for the night. The next morning I decided to build a hut so I could sleep more comfortably and read the book. I gathered wood, some, wool, and managed to barter some of my supplies for some cobblestone and coal from a passing dwarf. I quickly through together the place I would learn to call home. Exhausted from all the work I put into the house, I found myself asleep. The next few mornings I woke up and gather supplies. I managed to killed lots of pigs and cows, mostly because they don’t attack back. I came across a wolf and attempted to kill it for its meat, but I hit the tree next to it and scared it away. That night I began to read and read and read, I spent about two weeks just to read the entire book. When I finished I noticed a strange talisman in the back pouch of the book, I took it out and examined it. It looked pretty ordinary so I put it back inside the pouch of the book. I thought I had made it to the easy part, casting the spells. As always I was wrong. The guide specifies that I needed to get a special type of wood to craft my wand from the oldest tree still alive, the Gilboa Palm. Lucky it specified the approximate location of the tree, the only problem was not that the village had been destroyed centuries ago, but it was located in a region so far away it would take years to reach it. I figured the task would be impossible, but I had to try. I headed back to the noble village and asked around about a way to get to the village, but no one knew or wanted to tell me any shortcuts that I could use. Well that was in till I meet Devram. Devram was a young Orc with light green skin and long black hair. While exploring the sewers I came across her. She offered to tell me the location, but only if she could come along. So in order to get my wand I agreed to let her come and she led the way. We traveled a long distance in the sewer system. We made the last right and came up to what appeared to be a dead end. Suddenly Devram sprinted right at the wall and went right through it. I went right after her and entered the small room. A golden portal sat in the center of the room. I stepped into the portal and a weird feeling came across my body, it felt as if my body was being taken apart little by little and reformed, like I was two places at once. Upon arrival I was amazed how much different this land was then my home world, there were almost no trees here and lots of man-made structures. We scurried through the tunnel we appeared in and out into the ruins of a huge town. “Where do you suppose the tree is?” I pondered. “I could be wrong but I’m guessing it’s that tree over there, the really tall one,” replied Devram. “Yah that seems right” I said and we both sprinted towards it. The closer I got the bigger and bigger the tree seemed to be. Once I got to about 15 yards of the tree I was thrown back and some sort of magical barrier surrounding the tree. Suddenly I realized why Devram wanted to visit the tree with me; there was a small Orc inside the barrier. “Brother, brother!” cried Devram. The young orc’s mouth appeared to be moving, but we couldn’t hear him. I recited some words and Elven and strangely the barrier began to fade. I ran to the tree while Davram was busy greeting her long lost brother. I began to climb the tree. I extended my arm reached out, and ripped off a branch. KAPOW went the barrier as it reappeared. “Come on!” screamed Davram. I tried reciting Elven again, but it didn’t disappear like it did earlier. Then I remembered the talisman, I pulled it out and tossed it at the barrier. Slowly it began to burn away in till it was gone. “Hurry,” I bellowed. We didn’t take are chances and all three of us ran back to the portal. Somehow I rematerialized back near my old village. After the journey I was exhausted and hungry. Checking inside my bagfor food I realized that my book was gone! I dumped everything out of it and searched the items. No book. After I looked up and saw my old village. I was shocked; most of the village had been burnt down and I didn’t see Devram anywhere. I flicked my wand, but since I didn’t know any spells nothing happened. The village was lost. For awhile I continued to live in the village and practice with my bow. Eventually, I realized there was nothing left here for me. I packed up my stuff and made bread for my journey. I went back to the room where I spent most of my childhood. On the bed I saw a note it read: “Elvaldur, if you are reading this you have returned back to the village again. This also means that we are no longer here. This region is no longer safe for elfs, the other races have come to claim this place. You need to leave. I know that you had no intention to find your father and you’re desire to obtain magical abilities. Head north and go to Asulon. Once you’re there go join the Mages Guild. Have a great life. –The Elders” I put the note down grabbed my bag and left. After traveling for many years, I finally reached Asulon…... Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Elvaldur was walking by the Cloud Temple when he caught a glimpse of a little halfling being roughed up by to armed warriors. Elvaldur quickly drew his bow from his back and pulled an arrow from his quiver. He drew the bow string back and making sure he was the right angle and power to deliver a fatal shot to the attacker. Unfortunately due to all the power he but into the shot, the accuracy was decreased and it just skimmed the warriors shoulder. Now he had attracted the warrior’s attention and they charged at him. Suddenly a spear pierced through Elvaldur’s leg, injuring him badly. Elvaldur quickly drew back his bow and tried to shoot down the warrior before he can use another spear. They were both quick to react, so Elvaldur’s arrow managed to kill the warrior, but he also got hit by another spear in his arm. Realizing how close the other warrior advanced he throws his bow over his back and draws his sword out to begin a melee fight (Even though his arm is injured, Elvaldur learned to only use one handed swords, he left arm was injured, but Elvaldur uses his right). Elvaldur took the first move and was able to wound the warriors arm, reducing the strength of his attacks. Elvaldur went back and forth with the warrior both injuring each other severally. The warrior however was tried from traveling here when Elvaldur had just finished a peaceful day with the monks at the Cloud Temple. The warrior used the last bit of energy he had left to thrust his sword into Elvaldur’s leg wound. Elvaldur screams out in pain and brought down his sword to slice open the warriors head. Then he quickly runs to aid the halfling and return the money he picked off the dead warriors. Elvaldur returned to the Cloud Temple with the Halfling for medical treatment. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Elvaldur greets the man and chats a little while he checks his supplies. Elvaldur sees that he's down to 23 arrows and asks politely for more. The man goes into the back shop and comes back with 41 arrows to top off Elvaldur’s stack. “How much do these fine arrows cost?” pondered Elvaldur. “What your offer?” inquired the shopkeeper. “How about this?” questioned Elvaldur, pulling out a combination of minas and goods he grabbed from his sack. “Ehh, not enough,” replied the shopkeeper. Elvaldur draws his sword and presses it up against the shopkeeper’s neck. “Is it a good deal now?” Elvaldur intuited. “Yes a wonderful deal, just let me go you scum” commanded the shopkeeper. “I thought so” Elvaldur said. Elvaldur takes the arrows and heads out of town. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: First, Elvaldur asses the area to make sure there are no monsters lurking nearby or that there is no one who is occupying the hut. Seeing a human farming in the back he quickly, opens the chest, takes the iron bars and checks out what condition the sword is in to see if it's any use to him. “Ahh, this is a nice sword, light weight yet powerful enough to injure my foes” Elvaldur admires quietly. Quickly he tosses the iron bars in his backpack and puts the sword in a holster at his waist. He slowly closes the chest and leaves the houses just like he found it. He walks around the house and greets the human. “Hello, good sir,” announced Elvaldur. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!” screamed the human, obviously frightened. “Well I was walking by and I thought I would say hello,” replied Elvaldur. “You can’t do anything nice for these dang humans, so self-centered,” mumbled Elvaldur. The human looks at Elvaldur and sees the gold sword. “Is that my gold sword you have there elf,” asked the human. “No it is not, it’s mine” asserted Elvaldur. “Alright let me check my chest,” muttered the human. Once the human was inside the house Elvaldur sprinted away. “So long human!” laughed Elvaldur. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Hello, my go-good people” Elvaldur attempts to say. The people of the town rushed him to a table and brought him water. “Thank you” Elvaldur manages to say. “Sir, why are you in such bad conditions?” asked one of the residents. “Well, long story short my town had been destroyed and I was on the run from a group of raiders,” replied Elvaldur. “Wait, so are they coming here?” again asked a resident. “No, I lost them a while back,” said Elvaldur. “Thank the lord!” cried the resident. “Now go fetch this man a room in which he can stay he is obviously exhausted,” the resident cried out. “Now is there anything else that you want?” pondered the resident. “No, you people have been nice enough to let me stay in your camp. All I need is a day to rest,” replied Elvaldur. The resident leads Elvaldur up to his room and Elvaldur collapse on his bed into a deep sleep. The next morning Elvaldur wakes up and heads down to the dining hall. He eats some fruit and a piece of bread and then heads on his way after thanking the people of the trading camp. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Hearing that he can help in some way, Elvaldur makes haste to reach the coordinator and volunteers. Once reaching him he gets his outpost and heads out. Like when he saved the halfling he took out his bow and began to attack the bandits from afar. Some of the bandits pulled out bows and attacked him and other foot soldiers while other bandits advanced to move into the city. Elvaldur was hit in the shoulder and came back by hitting the archer right in the chest. The archer didn’t die yet he was too injured to continue so he fled from the battle grounds. Elvaldur manned his post and let the foot soldiers do most of the work. Elvaldur, injured holds his post in till the fighting is over. He hid behind a pole so no enemy archers could attack him. Soon they eliminated them all. Elvaldur goes back to the coordinator. He informs him that all the bandits are eliminated and reports any casualties that occurred. He then heads back into town to find medical treatment. “So ye think ye got us all didn’t you” says a bandit. “What a fool” laughs the bandit. Elvaldur takes out his sword, “Who’s the fool now?” replied Elvaldur. The thief draws out his knife and manages to stab Elvaldur in the arm, but when he goes to take it out his hand slips off the handle. Elvaldur quickly removes the knife from his arm, but once it’s out he realized the thief had fled. “Coward” muttered Elvaldur as he continues to walk to get medical treatment. I hope I have fixed this application up enough so that it's equal or superior to your standards.
