Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

That'd be elvisguitar.

How old are you?:

I am currently 18,5 years young.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

I live in the Netherlands, though I don't like the nether at all.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Well, sometimes I have the sentence in a wrong order or small grammar mistakes. But for a non-native english speaker I'm good at it. Let's hope this app proves it.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I'm a student who finished highschool and started college.

Then I found out I didn't like the college so I quit for the year, maybe the next one too. In other words: I have lots of time on my hands. Generally I'm a nice guy, and try to help people.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Except for my work 25 hours every week I have loads of time.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying (in my opinion) means using your imagination, and all the resources at hand to create an awesome experience for you and people arround you.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

In reality I barely have any experience in it, though I've read about it and seen it. It seems very fun, but time-consuming to make it a good RP.

In minecraft I have been on a medieval themed RP server where I was a wilding: A lone wolf, wandering across the great stretches of wildernis.

Every wildling had to hide his/her base because we were the only ones that didn't get any protection. This is where I decided to unite the wildlings. I built a castle on a hill, with a wildling village arround it. After a great fight for our safe haven we could finally live in peace with the non-wildlings. I had many more adventures in that server, the 5 duchies, such as bounty hunting across a 1500x1500 land piece and robbing people that pass the roads.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Honestly I had never looked these 2 terms up so I had to do it now.

I figured that it is one person enjoying the game as it is, but not getting to evolved into it. Meta-gamers don't see the character, but the person behind the computer on the other side. Basically he'll never get into the roleplay.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

I found out that this means focussing on the game, achieving as much as possable, as fast as possable.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect the people to actually meet me on the server in person. I'd love meeting people by coming across them instead of just global chat, for example. Also I expect the structures to actually have a story or use.

Mostly I hope it'll be a great RP experience.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

My first server when alpha was out was Barons of bullshit. Yes, I realize this doesn't fit a person wanting to join this server at all. It was a freebuild server with zero RP. I had a great time with the people there, but that was all. That is also the reason why I left: Except for the people there was nothing. I searched for more in depth-servers. I came across the 5 duchies, the server I mentioned earlier. It was a great server with great structures. everything was medieval themed, and had a story. The people were nice. But the downside was that they were all meta-gamers. I've barely seen any good RP on there except for what I organized myself. I left after a few months, after which I went to a pvp-factions server, madrealms.net . It had actual flying airships you could pilot, and I was the leader of vanguard. It was the 3th most powerfull faction out there. Frankly the map had changed right when we peaked in power. Everything got reset, and most of our members whom I bonded with left. This made me leave too. I considered going back to the 5duchies, just to find out it went down. I went looking for a new one, and that how I ended up here.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

But ofcourse, I did and I do.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I, elvisguitar, hereby promise to keep the rules in honour.

How did you hear about us?:

You're in fact very high-ranked on minestatus, that's where I found you.

In-Character:

Character, biography, ambitions, tool:

I am Eduin, the mountain dwarf.

Many years ago, in a cave beside the rough northern seas of our continent, a miracle happened. A new creature, filled with the breath of life, came out of the safety of his mother's womb. This was me. The very first air I breathed was salty, from the sea raging on to the cliffs below.

I was an ordinary dwarf. My father learned me the dwarven trades of smithing and mining at young age. Also I learned to be a good swimmer. It is known that seacliff dwarves are good at this. I grew up loved by my parents, yet without friends. This was not because I was mean, or ugly. It was just because most dwarves don't live by the sea. This caused me to be a little more socially awkard. I was just a young dwarf, preparing for the life of work ahead of me. I never expected things to go as they did.

I was 11, and it was a stormy night. I woke up panthing, and sweating. the hard stone bed below me felt colder then ever. I heard shouting, hence why I woke up. The voice from my father was trembling. He was telling them to go away. I heard an unkown, deep voice:'Just give me the money, and we won't harm anyone.' It sounded cold, and mean. I crawled under my blanket. I heard my mother emmiting awfull screams of pain. They hit her. Finally I heard the door slam, footsteps fading away. My father cursed, and I heard him open the stone vault with my grandfathers axe. He said to my mother: 'I'm going after them.' Before she could reply I heard the door slam again, with new footsteps fading away.

3 days after this fatefull night, someone knocked on the door yet again. A tall mysterious figure entered the building. He was holding something heavy, covered in white cloth, with bloodstains on it. He gave it to me, whilst remaining silent. The elf left mysteriously as he came. I quickly unrafeled the cloth. In there was an axe. My grandfather's axe. A tear rolled passed my cheek, realizing my father would never return. My mother cried for weeks. We earned no money or food. She was depressed. I was staring at the ceiling in my room, thinking about what happened when I heard a long scream. It faded, rapidly. I heard a loud splash just when it stopped. 'Mum?' I cried. I opened the door, looking past the stairs that lead upward. Straight below it I saw the sea raging against the rocks below me. I knew what just happened. my mother could't take the loss.

I felt alone. So abandoned. My only 2 friends had died. My parents, the one who gave me life, and a youth. I gathered all the food I could find, and took my grandfathers axe. I was still young, but ambitious. Determined to avenge my parents death I went out in the wide world to find the ones who killed dad on that fatefull, stormy night...

Now I'm here, writing this. I'm just recording my story, before it is to late. Any day can be my last in these dangerous caverns where the orc bandits who killed my parents are supposed to be. I haven't found them yet, and I'm lost. all this happened 7 years ago, I am now 18. I grew skilled with my axe.

It's commonly known that dwarves use axes to fight. I survive of rotten flesh, and bread that I grow from the bones of these evil creatures. I use my pickaxe, my favourite mining tool to dig holes to new caverns. Nothing will be safe from me, no unjustice, no evil. Yes, I definitly became a skilled fighter. also something more uncommon: A skilled tracker. I feel obliged to destroy injustice, because of the unfairness with which my life changed.

I shall not rest untill I find them...

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

He would walk there, with his axe ready and the meanest look on his sturdy, bearded face. He'd try to intimidate the warriors, make them run.

If neccesary he would fight. Anything to fight unjustice.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

He would go trough the wares for anything usefull and cheap. (I'm not a rich dwarf)

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Eduin probably needs it more then the others, though he would check for signs of recent life and leave it if he finds anything.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? 'Hello to you too! I've been lost in these woods for days now, and I have no food left. I'll work and fight for you for some new supplies, since I have no money.'

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: The reward would be a good support for my other adventures. I'd have helped even without the reward though.
