What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying; To take the place of another person or character and act as them, or play them to the best of your ability.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:I've played on other roleplaying servers, and I play Dungeons and Dragons.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:To gain knowledge your character wouldn't know by out of character means, and using them in character.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: To forcibly do stuff to other players without their consent.

What do you expect this server will be like?: Some bad roleplayers, mostly good roleplayers. I think it will be a very good experiance, and I hope to participate with nearly everyone.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on lots of the Overture servers.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?: I have lots of friends on this server, and they all like it.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No I have not. Well, I had to retype this application cause I closed the window. :(

Character Name: Oliver Apalin.

What Race are you?: A human bard.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Oliver grew up in a religious family. His father was a priest, and of considerable wealth. He taught him many things; to be courteous, how to handle money, and how to talk in and out of situations. He looked up to his father very fondly. It was the religion that got to him. Oliver was more interested in the arts, than religion. His uncle bought him a lute, and he played it well.

When he was the age of 15, he left home to pursue his dreams. He took his lute, a few sets of clothes, some of his father's money,and he was out of there. He went to the larger city, and saw many things. He gained knowledge that his father could never teach him. He played in the streets for money, and had healthy income. Yet he slept in the streets, and loved it.

His fingers have only gotten faster, and he wishes to further his bardic knowledge. He since has rejoined with his younger brother, and best friend, Alphonse Apaline. He looks similar to Oliver, and their personality is also similar. Oliver wears a vest, and a lute on his back. He has dark, shaggy hair. He's 26 years of age.

What is your Character's ambitions?: To play for all the races' leaders.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Oliver personally likes the pickaxe for no apparent reason.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?: He is smart, but a very talented bard.

Other Information about your Character: He's always courteous to everyone, and tries to talk his way in and out of situations, making him a good diplomat.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Oliver stops, and hides behind a nearby bush. He hears the warriors taunt him, and Oliver contemplates what he should do. He feels his pockets; no sort of weapon. He considers talking to the warriors. "Gentleman, what's the meaning of this? He's so small, and I'm sure he did nothing to harm you two. Can I do anything to save this little lad?" as he says this, he walks around the warriors and blocks their paths. "Perhaps a song?"

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Oliver looks at the merchant, and assesses his merchandise. He notices a small ink well. "How much for this, sir?" He hears the man say the price, and he in return pulls out a small pouch. He pays the man, wraps the ink well, and slips it into his coat pocket.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: "Hello...?" Oliver chants in a loud voice. With no reply, he walks up to the hut. Inside, it's also abandoned, and Oliver takes the items he chooses from the chest, assured no one is here to claim them.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Ah! Hello! May you please help me? I need food, and assistance." Oliver pleads, as he walks towards the citizens. "I apologize for the inconvenience, but I assure you I can recompense for what I use."

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: "Bandits, eh?" he replies to man telling him about the predicament. "I'd love to help, but I have no weapon. If you hand me a sword, I'd be plenty willing to help in this time of need."
